ELLIPTICAL CROSS TRAINER ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Introduction Table of Contents Congratulations on your purchase of the ELLIPTICAL CROSS TRAINER. This product has been designed and manufactured to meet the needs and requirements of light commercial use. M5 M6 M14 M13 1 Your ELLIPTICAL CROSS TRAINER is made of the highest quality materials, it is still important that you take care of your ELLIPTICAL CROSS TRAINER on a regular basis. Your ELLIPTICAL CROSS TRAINER is for indoor use only and should NOT be used or stored in damp areas. Wipe all perspiration from your ELLIPTICAL CROSS TRAINER after each use. F o r s a f e t y, i n s p e c t y o u r E L L I P T I C A L C R O S S TRAINER on a regular basis. As a sensible precaution quickly visually safety check and clean before use. We suggest a more through inspection every two to three weeks. If any defects are found discontinue use immediately and contact your dealer for advise on how to proceed. Components that need to be checked DUAL ACTION HANDLES [part#007,008,201,304,400] These parts are assembled by the consumer and should be checked regularly. Make sure that all Nut & Bolts are tight and firm. STATIONARY HANDLE BAR SECTION [part#017,305] These parts are assembled by the consumer and should be checked regularly. Make sure that all Bolts are tight and firm. FOOT PEDALS [part#115,317] These parts are assembled by the consumer and should be checked regularly. Make sure that all Bolts are tight and firm. FRONT & REAR STABILIZERS [part#002,003,308,403] These parts are assembled by the consumer and should be checked regularly. Make sure all Bolts are tight and firm. The 3x Pivot Points [part#005,006,011,012,802,803,804] All moving parts contain BEARINGS which should last a lifetime with normal use. For any reason these BEARINGS need replacing then contact your dealer and a authorized technician will help you. WARNING: Tampering with the BEARINGS will invalidate the warranty. Do NOT apply oil to any moving parts as this will wash the grease away damaging the ELLIPTICAL CROSS TRAINER If you are content with invalidating your warranty and plan to replace the BEARINGS then do so with care. NOTE: Pivot Point 3. uses 2 x special SELF ALIGNING BEARINGS [804]. To replace the BEARINGS disconnect the FOOT PEDAL TUBE [011 & 012] and the DUAL ACTION ARM [005 & 006]. Replace the BEARINGS then reassemble. All FASTENERS [Nuts, Bolts and Screws] As a precautionary measure we suggest that you regularly check that all easily accessible fasteners are tight & firm. ELLIPTICAL CROSS TRAINER ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS STEP 1 STEP 4 STEP 6 Clear a 2 x Meter by 2.5 Meter working space and place the ELLIPTICAL CROSS TRAINER carton in the middle. a) Lift the rear of the machine off the floor and slide a Polystyrene Block under the machine a) Lift the front of the machine off the floor and slide the same Polystyrene Block under the front of the machine STEP 2 a) With a sharp knife remove the plastic straps and carton lid. b) Cut the carton base so it lies flat on the floor as shown in the diagram below. b) With the rear end of the machine now raised off the floor remove the protective polystyrene. b) Remove the protective polystyrene. c) Remove the transportation tube with the TOOL provided as shown in the diagram below. c) Remove the transportation tube with the TOOL provided as shown in the diagram below. STEP 3 STEP 5 a) Remove all the loose components and move aside the unwanted parts as shown in the diagram below. b) Refer to the checklist and check that everything is present. NOTE: To protect the ELLIPTICAL CROSS TRAINER while assembling we suggest that you do not remove the protective packing material until absolutely necessary. Assemble the REAR STABILIZER [003] with the same 2 x BOLTS [308] + WASHERS [403] and tighten firmly with the TOOL provided. STEP 7 Assemble the FRONT STABILIZER [002] with the same 2 x BOLTS [308] + WASHERS [403] and tighten firmly with the TOOL provided. 003 403 308 403 002 308 2 ELLIPTICAL CROSS TRAINER ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS STEP 8 STEP 9 STEP 10 a) Rotate both FOOT PEDAL TUBES [011 & 012] out of the way as shown in the diagram below. a) With another person helping you carefully lift the UPRIGHT TUBE [004] until it is vertical while the other person joins the COMPUTER CABLE [703] to MOTOR with CABLE [701] Plugs as shown in the diagram below. Release CLAMP [016] as shown in diagram 1. below. Then tighten the FINGER NUT until finger tight. b) Remove all 8 x BOLT [302] + WASHER [400]. 012 b) Slide the UPRIGHT TUBE [004] into the MAIN FRAME [001] and secure with the same 8 x BOLT [302] + WASHER [400] and tighten firmly. 011 c) Slide down the HAT COVER [111] and push firmly. WARNING: For safety reasons it is extremely important that the CLAMP is tight and fully closed before using the ELLIPTICAL CROSS TRAINER as shown in diagram 2. diagram 1. diagram 2. FINGER NUT TIGHT! 302 400 703 701 CLAMP OPEN STEP 11 111 302 400 004 CLAMP CLOSED a) Rotate back one of the FOOT PEDAL TUBES [011 or 012] and slide the ANGLE ADJUSTMENT TUBE [014] into the DUAL ACTION ARM [005 or 006] accordingly. b) Press the SAFETY BUTTON [133] and slide the ANGLE ADJUSTMENT TUBE [014] until the SAFETY BUTTON [133] pops out of one of the 5 x holes in the DUAL ACTION ARMS [005 or 006] accordingly. To begin with we suggest the No.3 hole setting. Close the CLAMP [016]. 006 005 012 016 014 011 133 3 1 c) Repeat the same assembly instructions for the other side. ELLIPTICAL CROSS TRAINER ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS STEP 12 STEP 13 STEP 14 a) Slide the FOOT PEDAL [115] onto the FOOT PEDAL TUBE [011 & 012]. b) Secure both FOOT PEDAL [115] with 4 x BOLT [317] and tighten firmly. c) Assemble 4 x PLUG [116]. a) Align the STATIONARY HANDLEBAR [017] and feed the HAND PULSE CABLE [715] through the HANDLEBAR COVER [135].then slide the STATIONARY HANDLEBAR [017]into the UPRIGHT TUBE [004] being careful NOT to damage the HAND PULSE CABLE [715]. There are notches in the UPRIGHT TUBE [004] for the HAND PULSE CABLE [715] check that the HAND PULSE CABLE [715] is correctly aligned to the notches. Although all the ELLIPTICAL CROSS TRAINER Computers run on AC Adaptor some of the Computers still require batteries to keep the memory alive. notch 704 Try to remove the small battery lid on the back of the Computer. If it does NOT release easily then the Computer does NOT require batteries. If the battery lid does remove easily then fit the computer with the supplied two pieces of R6P * SUM3 * SIZE"AA" * 1.5V batteries. Insure the batteries are correctly positioned and the battery springs are in proper contact with batteries. Replace the battery cover and insure it is tightly closed. 115 715 Batteries Battery Lid 715 017 HAND PULSE CABLE [715] b) Secure STATIONARY HANDLEBAR [017] with 4 x BOLT [305]. Be careful not to cross-thread the BOLT [305]. 011 317 115 116 017 STEP 15 a) P o s i t i o n t h e C O M P U T E R [ 7 1 3 ] o v e r t h e HANDLEBAR COVER [136] and connect both plugs of the COMPUTER [713] to COMPUTER CABLE [703] and HAND PULSE CABLE [704]. b) Carefully position the COMPUTER [713] on top of the HANDLEBAR COVER [136] and secure with 4 x BOLT [318]. Note that the 4 x BOLT [318] have a slot designed to fit a standard coin. So if finger tight is not sufficient then use a standard coin to fully tighten the 4 x BOLT [318] but do NOT over tighten. 704 318 715 305 318 305 713 704 715 136 703 COIN 704 318 c) Connect both plugs of 2 x HAND PULSE CABLE [704] to 2 x HAND PULSE CABLE [715]. 4 ELLIPTICAL CROSS TRAINER ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS STEP 16 STEP 17 STEP 18 a) Find the TOP PIVOT COVER ASSEMBLY and remove the CAP[126] then place the CAP[126] onto the LEFT DUAL ACTION HANDLE [007]. a) With the remaining TOP PIVOT COVER ASSEMBLY fit the INNER [142] to the inside of the LEFT DUAL ACTION ARM [005] as shown in the diagram below. a) Connect the AC ADAPTOR [712] into the mains power socket. b) Insert the LEFT DUAL ACTION HANDLE [007] into the top of the LEFT DUAL ACTION ARM [005]. Note the Left Sticker. b) Slide the OUTER [138] into the INNER [142] taking care to ensure that these two parts interlock correctly and are centrally seated on the LEFT DUAL ACTION ARM [005]. b) Connect the ADAPTOR PLUG [712] into the ADAPTOR SOCKET either at the front or rear of the ELLIPTICAL CROSS TRAINER depending on your preference. c) Secure with 2 x BOLT [304] + 2 x WASHER [400] + 2 x NUT [201] and tighten firmly being carful NOT to over tighten. c) Slide down the CAP [126] which will ensure that the 3 x parts that make up the TOP PIVOT COVER ASSEMBLY firmly hold each other in place. c) The COMPUTER [713] should now be working.
