Boston Valley supplied both interior and exterior TerraClad panels in a custom
salmon color for this project. Inherently Terra Cotta will exhibit a natural color
range when fired from the same mix of materials. Boston Valley worked closely
with Pfeiffer Partners to first develop the custom color and then to perfect a
very tight range for that color. Two visual mock ups were assembled on site to
ensure the entire 75,000 square feet of Terra Cotta matched the approved color.
The subtle horizontal banding that defines the floor levels was achieved by
creating a custom deep reveal die. The very dark horizontal shadow lines are
actually custom aluminum trim piece that hide the connecting points of the
unitized curtain wall.
This design represents one of the most efficient ways to build with Terra Cotta.
