St Cloud OUT / GLBTA Film Festival
For the second year, St. Cloud OUT has produced the GLBTA Film Festival without relying
on money from grants and therefore has been freed from the many restrictions that are
tied to receiving grant money. The film festival is funded solely on donations, ticket sales
and program advertisements. Also, by becoming self-sustaining, we can be more flexible in
our programming.
To continue our financial independence, we need community involvement in St. Cloud OUT
and the GLBTA Film Festival through financial contributions and/or volunteerism.
St Cloud OUT meets the second Thursday of each month at Mississippi Bean and Tea
Company, downtown St. Cloud, MN. Meetings start at 7:00 p.m.
Everyone from the GLBTA community is welcome to attend any of the meetings and is
encouraged to get involved and provide ideas and input.

Vibrant, soulful, and distinctive; Leesa plays what is in her heart and what is on her mind.
Leesa's painfully honest delivery acts as a mirror that audiences from vastly disparate backgrounds can look
into and find their own connections and freedoms. This self taught musician has a down-to-earth ease on stage
yet will shock you with her intensity.
Leesa's ten years experience has seen her perform in a variety of venues, from small intimate cafes to formal
theatres. She also plays for music festivals and has donated her time and talents for several benefit shows.
During this time, Leesa has produced two albums and is working on a third. Her passionate debut album, Love
Like War was released in 2003. Raw and unrelenting, this album was only a sneak peak as to the depth of
Leesa's abilities. 2005 saw the release of her second album, This Is Me. This endeavor focused on exploring
the possibilities of collaboration, and expanding her variety of sound. Leesa's yet-unnamed third album will feature herself as producer, giving the songs a perfection of her intent, and is due out sometime in 2006. Leesa
will begin recording her third album this fall.

Republican Senator Paul Koering views his job to be "giving people a hand up, not a hand out". This
biennium, he will focus on health care, education and some bonding projects for District 12.
He describes himself not as ultra conservative or ultra liberal but rather as a realist, and says he has
not made up his mind on all issues- for example, the statewide smoking ban. Koering says such a
ban walks a "fine line" between health, personal rights, and property rights.
Koering got his political start through the Minnesota Farm Bureau. He was named to the Minnesota
Farm Bureau's board of directors. It gave him an interest in politics and in public policy.

debut film boldly documents the clandestine struggle of three women fighting for their right to love within their
beloved Orthodox communities in Jerusalem. All three are pious, religiously committed women. All three are
lesbians, and members of a secret support group called the “Ortho-Dykes.”
Though their life choices exact a devastating price, these women are committed to confronting their duality, and
accept the toll with a profound compassion toward their society. Miriam-Ester fights her aversion to a man’s
touch for the sake of her family and ten children, while Ruth’s husband shockingly permits his wife to see her
female lover twice a week. Yudith, a Rabbi’s daughter, declares her sexuality openly as she believes “lies are
the worst sin on earth.”
Ingenious cinematic techniques underscore the excruciating pain of constant self-suppression, and provide the
anonymity necessary for these women to continue living in their communities. Their courageous fight for selfrealization, honesty and acceptance is an extraordinary model for those who struggle with issues of religious
and sexual identity.

Charissa is a lesbian who wants a church wedding, but it doesn’t seem to help that her dad is the pastor of the
town’s United Methodist Church. While he has been quietly supportive of his daughter’s lesbian relationship,
Charissa’s father knows he would put his career at risk if he chose to officiate at her marriage ceremony. In
1999, the Methodist church took a firm stand by suspending a pastor for officiating a same sex union—and the
clashes between clergy and gay couples have been making headlines ever since. Compelling and honest, IN
MY FATHER'S CHURCH is a poignant exploration of the intersection of homosexuality and religion, from the
perspective of someone who has much at stake.
Though disappointed by her father’s resistance to marry her, Charissa and her bride-to-be Kelly continue to
make their wedding plans—finding support in surprising places, and eventually are married by Charissa’s uncle.
This emotionally charged story of one woman’s attempt to reconcile her love, faith and family brings to life the
deep conflicts that gay marriage has caused in many churches—and for many individuals trying to maintain their
faith while preserving their own identities.

Reminiscing, Brad confides to his best friend since high school, Julie, that he wishes he could just be

Suddenly taken back in time, Brad wakes up and finds himself back in high school in a world which is
now gay. To be straight is considered deviant behavior.
Meeting Roland Davis this time, the two become the hottest couple at school. But then something
