This is assuming we have all of our volunteers in place. Grades 1-2: Monday, Sept. 26th, 2-3 pm Grade 3: Tuesday, Sept. 27th, 2-3 pm Grades 4-6: Wednesday, Sept. 28th, 7:45-8:45 am Grades 7-8: Monday, Sept. 26th 2:20-3:15 pm at Center CLOW (Children’s Liturgy of the Word) CLOW begins next Sunday at the 10:45 Mass. This program can make Liturgy of the Word an ageappropriate, faith-building worship experience for the children in our parish. After the Gloria, Father Dan calls forth the children in grades K-3 where they will meet with a catechist to hear the Sunday Readings. Your child will come back with leaflets retelling the Scripture message in a way that’s meaningful; it will contain activities and there is a take-home Family Focus column that offers great ideas to build on the Gospel message all week. If you have a reluctant child, feel free to accompany him/her. You are always welcome! Confirmation News High School/Confirmation Registration September 18th- This years program begins with families meeting for mass at 8:30 followed by donuts and Safe Environment Training for students from 10:00 -11:00 am in the Church Hall. Today we ponder how to balance our call to discipleship with our culture’s call to accumulate wealth and material things. We hear that God is aware of both greed and the needs of the poor. Discipleship challenges us to be prudent, wise, focused and balanced in our interaction with money. It’s not easy. Keeping our eyes on the final prize is what really matters. Holy Father’s Prayer Intentions for September Universal: Centrality of the Human Person- Pray that each may contribute to the common good and to the building of a society that places the human person at the center. Evangelization: Mission to Evangelize- Pray that by participating in the Sacraments and meditating on Scripture, Christians may become more aware of their mission to evangelize. U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops president, Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz of Louisville, Kentucky, has called for an emergency collection to assist victims of the recent flooding in Louisiana. He also issued a statement of solidarity with the victims and invited Catholics to generously help those in need. As many as 60,000 homes have been damaged, with nearly 20,000 people being rescued from the floodwaters. More than 106,000 individuals and families have sought federal disaster aid. Immediate and long-term recovery needs place a tremendous burden on public and private resources. This is a burden we can help carry as the body of Christ. Faced with the loss of their worldly possessions and, in some cases, economic livelihood, the floodwaters left thousands of families feeling isolated and fearful. Let us draw near to them. Please help.
