I would also like to thank our Premium Sponsors Itasca Bank & Trust, Hit It! Fitness and Porte Brown for their generous support of this event. At this year’s Holiday Party and Awards Banquet, we will honor our 2014 Joseph G. Salerno Business Person of the Year. This prestigious award honors a Chamber member who has made a significant contribution to not only our Chamber but also our community. I am honored to announce that the Board of Directors has selected Todd Eichholz of Heritage Realty & Development as this year’s recipient. Todd has been an active Chamber member and recent past president. In addition, spread throughout Roselle are many unheralded community projects that Todd has helped build. The Roselle Chamber also will recognize Officer Pat Stopka of the Roselle Police Department with the Brian K. Healy Service Award for his service and countless hours organizing events benefiting the Roselle Community. Please join me at the Holiday Party on December 5th as we congratulate and honor Todd and Pat for their hard work and dedication to our Chamber and community. We also would like to thank DuPage County Board Member Sam Tornatore for taking time to share some insight into the many facets of the DuPage County Board at our September membership meeting. A big thanks also goes out to Bulldog Ale House for hosting a great Business After Hours. Did you miss these great opportunities to network and have fun? This fall promises to be filled with great events – I look forward to see you at the next one! Chamber Honors Service and Leadership The Roselle Chamber of Commerce and Industry continues their annual tradition of recognizing individuals for their contributions to the community. The Joseph G. Salerno Business Person of the Year Award honors a businessperson’s professional successes and leadership in the community. The Brian K. Healy Service Award pays tribute to an individual for their outstanding community service. The Chamber is pleased to announce Todd Eichholz as the 2014 Business Person of the Year. Todd is the owner of Heritage Realty & Development as well as co-owner of A&A Paving, both businesses located in Roselle. Todd currently serves on the Chamber Board of Directors and is our past President as well as the 2008 recipient of the Brian K. Healy Award. Todd is also co-chair of the Golf Outing, serves on the Finance Committee and has volunteered countless hours at the Bingo Tent, Rose Parade, Membership Appreciation Picnic, Community Directory, Holiday Party set up and building floats for the Rose Parade in his garage. With a desire to further support the community, Todd also serves on several other boards and is proud to be a current Board Member of the Roselle Police Association Foundation, a Taste of Roselle Commissioner, a Board Member of DuPage County Area Project, or DuCap for short, which creates programs and activities for at-risk youth, he is an Advisory Board Member of Stepping Stones for Women of Domestic Violence, the Precinct Committeemen for his neighborhood, and a past-Board member and mentor of AIMS, a youth mentoring program. He and his wife, Jaime, are both lifelong Roselle residents who attended Trinity Lutheran School and Lake Park High School. They have two beautiful daughters McKenna and Aislynn who also attend Trinity Lutheran School in the 6th Grade and Kindergarten. Since weekdays are hectic with work and the organizations that he’s involved with, Todd always blocks time to take his two girls for “daddydaughter time” and escape to Marengo Illinois to do nothing but ride their horses. Something that started out years ago as a fun thing to try with his oldest daughter has turned into an obsession and has led to countless shows, ribbons and awards but importantly memories and quality time with his family. In recognition of Officer Pat Stopka’s service to the community, he has been selected as recipient of the Brian K. Healy Service Award. Officer Pat Stopka began his career with the Roselle Police Department on the 11th of December 1995. Since then he has served in many facets of the department. Pat was assigned in Detectives from 2003 until 2011, was assigned as a traffic officer to our traffic unit, and is a certified child safety seat inspector. He has received four achievement awards from the Illinois Department of Transportation and Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists for his work curbing intoxicated motorists. Pat has received seven Commendations or Honorable Mentions and numerous letters of appreciation. He’s been instrumental in developing the Roselle Police Association Foundation and many of the efforts of the Roselle Police Association. Officer Stopka has conducted many community based programs, most notably is the yearly “Shop with a Cop” program and many other annual fundraisers which benefit local non-for-profit organizations. The Chamber invites you to pay tribute to Todd and Pat at the upcoming Annual Holiday Party & Awards Banquet on December 5. Watch for your formal invitation to the party in early November!
