The third annual St. Patrick’s Dance was the most
successful yet for the New Castle Senior Center. A
sellout crowd revelled to the Seven Rings music and
feasted on the offerings of local fave Smokin’ Cuisine.
All enjoyed the beverages served by Crisi, Lynn and
Kat. 50-50 winner Sally Denton graciously donated her
winnings to the Center. The basket raffle won by Bob
Parker-whatda ya say? The Dance Committee would
like thank everyone and hopefully we’ll see everyone at
the Wharf Dance in September.

nachos
Ever thought about
making nachos
with bacon
before?
These will
become a regular
for your house!
This recipe is inspired by appleydapply Bacon and Onion
Nachos. I had unexpected company come by and I wanted to
make lunch for them. This is the result I got. It's hot and spicy but
you can decrease the amount of jalapeño peppers. If you do not
like crisp vegetables, microwave them to the desired consistency
you like. Gotta be crisp in Cobble House.
ingredients
✦ 1⁄2 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled (divided)
✦ 1⁄2-3⁄4 cup red onion, chopped (divided)
✦ 1 medium tomato, seeded and chopped
✦ 1 (2¼ oz) can sliced black olives and/or diced tomatoes
✦ 6 -7 jalapeño peppers, seeded and chopped (divided)
✦ 21⁄2 cups Mexican blend cheese (Shredded cheddar and
Monterey Jack Cheese, divided)
✦ 9 ounces tortilla chips
directions
✦ Preheat oven to 425º
✦ Line a baking sheet with foil.
✦ Spread ½ bag of Tostitos over the foil.
✦ Sprinkle with half the bacon, onion, peppers and 1 cup of cheese.
✦ Spread the remaining ½ bag of Tostitos on top.
✦ Top with remaining bacon, onion, peppers, olives and tomatoes.
✦ Top with 1½ cup remaining cheese.
✦ Bake for 5-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and slightly
browned.

THROUGH MARCH 28TH
The public is invited to the opening reception at the arts
center on First Friday, March 6, from 5 to 7pm to meet
the artists and enjoy hors d’oeuvres.
March’s featured artist is Dennis Young who is exhibiting a
show of pastel and oil paintings entitled
“Waiting for Summer.”
Young, a doctor from New Castle, De., generally works
outside on location, but retreats to his studio in cold
weather, often painting portraits. He waits for the season
when he can get back outside to paint and participates in
six to eight plein air events a year, including the August
event in Ocean City.
The “Waiting for Summer” show will feature many of
Young’s plein air paintings done in the vivid hues that
pastel paints bring to his art.

Separation Day 2 Day Celebration!
Stupid is as stupid does.
– Forrest Gump
▶ SepDay '15
▶ Lights Out Tribute
We all appreciate the “Stupid Criminal”
stories but this twist is on the “Stupid
Victim!”
A scam occurred in the parking lot of the
New Castle Farmer’s Market last week.
A 36 year-old victim reported to police that
she was approached by two subjects in the
lot that day asking her if she would like to
buy an Apple I-Pad or Samsung tablet for
$400.00. The victim agreed to buy two Ipads, at which time the suspects showed
her an item wrapped in bubble wrap that
displayed the apple symbol on top of it.
The items were later discovered to be
ceramic tiles inside of an Apple box.
One wonders who is strolling the parking lot of the Farmers Market
with a spare $800 bucks? And the thief’s price is not that much
different than the Apple store or Amazon!

This is EDR's major fundraiser which supports one-third of the dining room's annual budget.

of cells is a cage
containing digits which
