The series of world-famous police pistols
began with the now legendary Walther
PPK and continued with the highly
successful P99 and PPS. The latest
innovation is the Walther PPQ, which
came out in 2011. Police in the German
states of North Rhine-Westphalia,
Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Bremen
and Rhineland-Palatinate chose the
Walther P99 as their service weapon.
This reliable pistol is also used by
the Royal Malaysia Police, the Polish
National Police, the Dutch Police and

What was to become known as
the Model 1 was the first practical
self-loading pistol introduced in 1908.

Power in spite of water resistance.
The firing mechanism of the WALTHER PPQ
NAVY has been optimized for operations in
and near water. A hole in the striker channel
ensures sufficient water displacement if the
weapon becomes completely flooded with
water. Hydraulic resistance is offset by means
of a stronger striker spring. In addition, special
guides reduce the water resistance when the
striker moves forward

Gas Technology.
When the trigger of the CCP is squeezed and
the striker hits the cartridge, the bullet is set
in motion. Once it passes the barrel’s gas
port, some of the gas generated by the ignited
propellant is directed through the port into a
gas cylinder. The gas pressure in the cylinder
acts against a piston that’s attached to the
slide opposing its rearward motion, which
effectively lowers felt recoil.
The benefits of SoftCoil Gas Technology
extend beyond the softened recoil of the
Concealed Carry Pistol. It allowed Walther
engineers to specify a recoil spring with
decreased tension, resulting in a slide that’s
easy to manipulate and a shooter that remains
focused and accurately on target.

The elder Walther continued the
tradition by constructing a new
modern factory in Ulm, a location
where centerfire production is done
today. Walther added multiple
locations over the next few years and
in 1949, the company celebrated
its 1,000th machine, an incredible
testament to an enduring legacy.

The PPS is everything you look for in a concealed

very slim. At less than an inch wide, the PPS is

A German Success Story
This book, available in two volumes,
was conceived to celebrate the 125year anniversary of Carl Walther GmbH.
This successful German company had its
beginnings in the 19th century in the town
of Zella St. Blasii (Thuringia), as a gunsmith
workshop.
The first book begins with an overview of
the events that occurred in the early 1990s,
which brought the hand of fate in leading the
Walther Company to merge with the Umarex
Group. The historical portion addresses the
origin of the Walther family business.
The second volume begins with the 1993
management change and is dedicated to the
dynamic advances Walther made in the
world market. By creating new models and
developing innovative sports promotions,
Walther has firmly positioned its company
in the new century.
This is an amazing combination of history,
