Scholarships for New and Continuing Students COTC Scholarships The Joseph and Nelda Bernat Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in an Engineering Technology with demonstrated academic success and financial need. Preference is given to Licking County residents. Recipients must be enrolled full-time. The COTC Board of Trustees Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates academic success, financial need, and a commitment to community service. Applications will be available in Financial Aid early spring. The Evans Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated academic success and financial need. Recipients must be enrolled full-time. The Iris L. Hicks Alumni Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a second year nursing student with demonstrated academic success and financial need. Applications will be available in Financial Aid early spring. The Walter C. and Iona Kuhn Beroth Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated academic success from Mount Vernon. The William T. and Jane C. McConnell Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student from Licking County with demonstrated academic success and financial need. Recipients must be majoring in Human Services and enrolled full-time. The LaVerne A. Messimer Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Accounting, Business Management, or Computer Programming with demonstrated academic success while in high school and in financial need. The Beverly Anderson Michalek Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student from Licking County majoring in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Medical Sonography/Radiologic Science Technology with demonstrated academic success and financial need. Recipients must be enrolled full-time. The Mary Miller Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student from Licking County with demonstrated academic success. The William C. and Janice M. Myers Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated academic success. The Elizabeth E. O’Neill Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a Nursing student with demonstrated academic success and financial need. Recipients must be enrolled full-time. The Faculty and Staff Premier Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student with a minimum 3.5 GPA and at least 45 hours earned at COTC by the end of spring semester with demonstrated financial need. Eligibility notifications will be e-mailed in May with application materials due no later than June 1. The Alexander and Lois J. Rolletta Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated academic success. The Screen Machine Industries Engineering Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Engineering with demonstrated academic success and who is a graduate of a Licking County high school. Preference is given to graduates of Western Licking County high schools. The Judy Ratliff Stansbury Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student that is graduating or has graduated in the Human Services program at COTC and is currently accepted and/or enrolled at The Ohio State University (Newark or Columbus) in the College of Social Work BA or MSW program. Applications will be available in Financial Aid early spring. The Marilyn C. Tritt Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student majoring in a Health Services Technology with demonstrated academic success and financial need. The American Electric Power Foundation Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated academic success. The John W. Alford Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who is a single parent, a resident of Licking County, and demonstrates financial need. The John and Mary Alford Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student from Licking County with significant financial need and demonstrated academic success. The Norman K. Preference is given to employees of Englefield Oil Company and their children. In the event there are no eligible applicants from Englefield Oil Company, the scholarship will be offered to another student. Applications will be available in Financial Aid early spring. Evans Foundation Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student from Licking County with demonstrated academic success. The Montgomery Foundation Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student from Coshocton County with demonstrated academic success. The J. Gilbert and Louella H. Reese Next Generation Challenge Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student from Licking County with demonstrated academic success and financial need. The First-Knox National Bank Scholarship honoring Gordy Yance This scholarship is awarded to a student from Knox County with demonstrated academic success. The Drexel A. and Josie Montanaro Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student from Licking County with demonstrated academic success and financial need. The Jill H. and Paul D. Griesse Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a Granville High School graduate with demonstrated academic success. The William S. Moore, III Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student from Newark who has demonstrated academic success, an outlook for community service and a desire to give back to help others in his/her community. Applications will be available in Financial Aid early spring. The Heritage Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated academic success and financial need. Recipients must be enrolled full-time. The Honors Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated academic success. The KBW Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student from Knox County with demonstrated academic success and financial need. Residency in Knox County must be for at least one year. The LeFevre Foundation Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student from Licking County with demonstrated academic success and financial need. The Licking County Senior Levy Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a Licking County resident 60 years of age or older. Applications will be available in Financial Aid early spring. Preference is given to employees of Licking Memorial Health Systems and their immediate family. Applications will be available in Financial Aid early spring. The Richard T. and Dorothy J. Oberfield Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student who is a graduate of a Licking County high school with demonstrated academic success and financial need. The John J. O’Neill Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated academic success. The Park National Bank and Associates’ Next Generation Challenge Scholarship honoring William T. and Jane Cook McConnell This scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated academic success and financial need. Interested students must reside in one of the 28 counties where Park National Bank and its affiliates are located. Applications will be available in Financial Aid early spring. The Presidential Achievement Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student who has demonstrated academic success while in high school, and plans to graduate from high school in the spring. Priority is given to those who complete the COTC Admission Application and submit their high school transcript by December 15. Schuman Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student from Licking County with demonstrated academic success and financial need. Applicants must be a child of a full-time Park National Bank employee who has been employed with the bank for a minimum of five years. Applications will be available in Financial Aid early spring. The Robert E. Simpson Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student from Coshocton or Knox counties with demonstrated academic success. The State Farm Scholarship honoring Calvin E. Roebuck This scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated academic success. The Tech Prep Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student who completed the Tech Prep Curriculum, has a minimum cumulative Tech Prep GPA of 3.0, and will graduate from high school in the spring. Interested students should see the Gateway for application information. Application materials are due no later than March 1. The Christine and John L. Warner Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated academic success.
