Pegasus Pages - Jan-Apr 2007 page-3 The [New] President's Perspective Howdy all! Well it's 2007 and a new year of car shows and hanging out with friends and family. I first off would like to say thanks to Jeff Wendt for a great job he did these past couple of years as the club president. thanks Jeff !! Well I'm back in the saddle again..as your Prezz !! I'd like to say thanks to all that voted for me... (especially Jeff for stuffing the ballet box - LOL). I know this year will be another great year for our club, and we have a lot of things planned to do this summer and I do hope many of you will be able to take the time to join us. A big “Thank You” to John & Diane Olson for setting up the Holiday party location for the club this year at the Lil' Oven in St. Paul. As always we had a great turn out and a lot of good food and prizes to give away! In Feb. Rob, Marty and myself went to Chicago, IL to attained the annual “Midwest Fiero Clubs” council meeting. This where all the Midwest clubs gather to plan the upcoming show season throughout our region. We will have upcoming shows listed in future issues of the newsletter. The first major car show this year is Dells Run 2007 (May 31st - June 3rd), I hope many of you consider going to this show. If you can only go to one out of town show you should attend this one. It is 4 days of fun for the whole family!! I plan on leaving Thursday morning if you would like to hook up and cruise out there with me please call or email. There will be others leaving on Friday as well if you are unable to make it on Thursday. June 16th I'll be hosting the First Annual Fiero and Friends BBQ at my place in Green Isle, Mn 55338 the club will supply the meat, buns and chips - you just need to bring your own drink & chair! Plan to eat around 1pm and after lunch head out for a scenic cruise of the area. I Hope to see everyone there! Also, please all remember we need articles from you bad!! It's really difficult for just one or two people to do all the newsletters with nothing submitted to publish in them. So all we ask for are simple write-ups: if you went on a trip with your car or did some work on it and found a better way to do it, or anything you can think to share… everyone is waiting! We all would like to thank Jeff Wendt for his many years of hard work and service to MFF as club president! Throughout the evening, the crowd was kept entertained - primarily by the antics and ad-lib comedy of Kevin & Rob as they hosted Fiero Bingo & the Raffle. A great number of prizes were awarded, with a big thanks going out to all our sponsors: Fiero Store, Walser Pontiac, Tim & Jean Cebulla, & Minnesota Fieros Forever. Additionally, we would like to thank Tim & Jean for their donation of the creative “Parcel Post” auction items (a new & hopefully recurring event). Dear Minnesota Fieros Forever Club Members & Directors, The Michigan Fiero Club is proud to announce that it will be hosting the Fiero 25th Anniversary Show. We consider this to be the kick-off event to celebrate the 25th Anniversary for a year long celebration at all of the Fiero shows in the 12 months that follow the show. The event is planned for Thursday July 24, 2008 thru Sunday July 27, 2008. We'll be returning to the Marriott at Centerpoint in Pontiac, Michigan. This is the same hotel that the 20th Anniversary was held at and located in the city where Pontiac Excitement was built. We are anticipating having a very memorable event and want to make sure that all Fiero clubs are represented in this endeavor. The Michigan Fiero Club will be hosting the car show, Saturday July 26, 2008 and the banquet (Fiero Family Reunion) that will take place that same evening. We are also looking into a tour of the GM Heritage Center, GM World Headquarters and the Automotive Hall of Fame for the event. The GM Heritage Center is a venue that is not open to the general public and is GM's collection of prototype, rare and special vehicles. This tour should be one of the highlights of the event. To make this as memorable as the 20th (400+ Fieros!) we are asking your club to sponsor and run an event during the 4 day weekend. We are open to all kinds of activities, and it is very possible that we will have multiple events going on at the same time. A few examples are tech sessions, engine tuning, seat replacement, headlight repair, off site track events, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, guest speakers, banners, trophies or anything Fiero related. If you need assistance doing ground work here locally, we would be glad to assist. Events that are planned and sponsored by your club will be the full responsibility of your club. We are working closely with the Marriott to provide convenient parking for vehicles hauling trailers and we will not have drive-thru judging lanes due to the heavy congestion we experienced at the 20th. We are in the planning stages for the events surrounding the 25th. Our goal is to have a fun filled weekend for all Fiero owners. We would like all Fiero Clubs to participate in some way to be a part of the 25th Anniversary Celebration. Please direct replies to Show chairpersons Mark Duford, Barb Hack and Ron Treichel. Anderson, Age 60 Of Hastings Died 12/29/06. Survived by husband Kenneth, children Wendy Anderson of Bellevue, WA, Donald Anderson & David Anderson of Hastings, brother Peter DeMoss of Hugo, sister Karen Buege of Stillwater. Funeral Tuesday… For those who may not have received word, Marilyn Anderson passed away from her long battle with cancer on December 29th, 2006. For many years Marilyn was MFF's club secretary, and for even longer she was a guide and motivational spirit to all club member's helping many to go to volunteer their services as club officers. We will always recall Marilyn's love of her Fiero: Lil' Blue Coupe, and the care and attention she showered upon it before and during every show. They will also remember her glowing smile and warm friendship as she greeted all her Fiero friends, always in the company of her loving husband Kenn. I clearly recall meeting Kenn & Marilyn as we traveled to the FOCOA Nationals event in the early 90's one of my first events with MFF. And I will not forget saying “goodbye” the last time I saw her… Marilyn you touched many hearts, and you will always be remembered. Thank you. -Rob Bartlett Pegasus Pages - Jan-Apr 2007 page- 9 CLASSIFIEDS Engine swapped, White 1984 body with a 90,000 mile 1986 V-6 engine installed.
