Alpine Events Alpine Ski Club and Men with Knives Catering: creating memories for a lifetime Alpine Ski Club is located in The Blue Mountains, a four-season community with a welcoming small-town feel and big-town amenities. Situated on the scenic Niagara Escarpment ten minutes from Collingwood and ninety minutes from Pearson International Airport, it is accessible for the day or to stay. As a private ski club Alpine is busy with member activity in the winter season. In the off-season Alpine’s new 45,000 sq. ft. clubhouse offers an event venue unique in the Southern Georgian Bay area. The spacious building presents a distinctive exterior design and powerful interior architecture with vaulted ceilings and impressive floor-to-ceiling windows in most seating spaces. Carefully designed to maximize the views of the Escarpment and Georgian Bay, it offers a range of settings for photographs. The variety of indoor spaces provide options for a cozy celebration or a grand event. Separate spaces can be designated for cocktails, dinner and dancing, including the spacious outdoor terrace, while still leaving private rooms for the wedding party or children’s play. No wedding is complete without a memorable culinary experience. Men with Knives Catering is Alpine’s in-house food and beverage and event-planning partner. This year marks the next step in the evolution of the Alpine experience with the completion of a modern 45,000 sq. ft. clubhouse that lends itself beautifully to corporate functions, and in particular wedding celebrations. Construction is almost complete with the finishing touches being applied through the summer for our grand opening this fall. Alpine’s clubhouse provides flexibility through its layout and room options. The main floor is notable for its sense of spaciousness, in part from the vaulted ceilings, generous windows, and open concept layout. Consider the Ascot Hall and adjacent Fireside Room, or the Georgian Room for a more intimate event. The main entrance on the lower level opens onto a large central hallway accessing the stairs to the main level, two large seating rooms open to the hallway, a private boardroom, and a flex room ideal for the bridal party. On the side facing the Escarpment, its vaulted ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides provide an expansive view of the slopes. The Ascot Hall contains a full bar with seating and a designated area for live music and dancing, and shares a see-through gas fireplace with the Fireside Room. This is the largest space in the clubhouse, accommodating 328 for a banquet dinner. Terrace and Fireplace – a seamless connection to the outdoors Step outdoors from the Ascot Hall to take in the view from the south-facing terrace. It’s a picturesque location to mingle over cocktails with soft music playing in the background and the warmth of the cozy outdoor gas fireplace in the evening. Bar service is available through the windows from the bar in the Ascot Hall. For those that would like to expand the outdoor space, imagine erecting an airy marquee steps from the terrace. Fireside Lounge – home of the adult Members’ private lounge This is a luxurious space that can stand on its own for a private function or complement your event in the Ascot Hall. Sharing a see-through gas fireplace with the Ascot Hall, the Fireside Lounge is characterized by fully-windowed walls on three sides featuring views from the slopes to Georgian Bay. This room comfortably seats 144 for dinner. Georgian Room – named for its commanding view of Georgian Bay This space is separate from the Ascot Hall offering a more intimate space with a vaulted wood ceiling, expansive views of Georgian Bay, and soft seating. This room accommodates 160 for dinner. Stay on this road; the name changes to First Street. Pass three sets of lights and just before the fourth set you will see a Wendy’s Restaurant and the Holiday Inn Express Hotel on the right. Turn right at the Holiday Inn Express onto Balsam Street. Continue on Balsam (it becomes Hwy 26 again) through the Village of Craigleith. Near a kilometre past the lights at Mountain Road you will find a sign for Arrowhead Road. Turn left on Arrowhead Road and continue until you see Alpine Ski Club on your right.
