Dear Colleagues, It was always our dream to organize a meeting between Brazil and Germany. When Carlos Uebel had the idea of a continual German-Brazilian meeting with us 2 years ago, we were excited about taking on this project. Everyone was very enthusiastic when having been told about this meeting. They motivated us to organize a GERMAN-BRAZILIAN AESTHETIC MEETING (GBAM). Both countries have influenced plastic surgery: The very first reports of German plastic surgery date back to publications of Karl von Graefe, Johann Friedrich Dieffenbach and Jacques Joseph in Berlin during the late 19th century. Brazil made plastic surgery more and more popular worldwide. One of the main contributors was Ivo Pitanguy - We feel very honored that he agreed to be part of GBAM! The scientific program will be different from the usual. Besides our main topics of body contouring, we will discuss the latest procedures concerning the breast and face enhancement. We will speak about complications, about the operated looking patient and about beauty. And the story started a long time ago, with Mühlbauer, Biemer, Spitalny, Lemperle, Pohl and others from Germany; and Marcos Ferreira, Heller, Kepke from Brazil to mention only a few of them. Time goes by and the idea came again with Joachim von Finckenstein from Munich to let it become reality. Together with Fabio Nahas, Luiz Perin and Sven von Saldern we are now setting up this important meeting to be held next year in Munich. An outstanding faculty from both countries will be there to discuss the most recent advances of our specialty and we are sure that a large group of Brazilians and Germans will have the opportunity to spend and enjoy a wonderful time in Munich. In 2017 the meeting will be in Brazil and will then rotate every year. What a nice project. Carlos Uebel, MD PhD The design department of BMW will demonstrate how they perceive aesthetics and how they implement this in the shape of their products. Plastic surgery has to deal with aesthetics as well: you will be astonished that the basic analyses of what we try to achieve in our both jobs are very similar. Each session is divided in two parts: The first part consists of usual lectures and the second part will deal with complications: The speaker presents a complication. Four options to solve the problems are suggested. The audience attendees give their answers by a remote control. The speaker presents the way he treated the complication and other solutions will be discussed. We are proud to have such an outstanding faculty contributing for the success of the 1. GBAM in Munich! Besides an outstanding scientific program there will be attractive social activities: As Brazilians told us, they are interested in the Bavarian culture and they like German cars, the social activities reflect their interests: The congress itself will take place in a traditional building in the heart of Munich and we’ll organize a gala dinner in the BMW Doppelkegel, which is located in an architectural BMW high tech area in contrast to the classical environment of the congress venue. Welcome to the first GBAM Welcome in Munich, “Weltstadt mit Herz” – “Cosmopolitan city with a warm heart” Welcome to visit the exceptional city of Oktoberfest Welcome to wear Dirndl and Lederhosen Welcome in the science fiction area of the BMW forum for the gala dinner Welcome to “from Surf to Curve…” Joachim von Finckenstein, MD PhD 4 Sven von Saldern, MD PhD 5 GENERAL INFORMATION FACULTY Congress Organization Faculty boeld communication GmbH Adlzreiterstraße 29 | 80337 Munich | Germany Tel. +49-89-18 90 46-0 | Fax +49-89-18 90 46-16 Email: [email protected] | www.bb-mc.com BRAZIL Congress President Dr. med. King Ludwig II's NEUSCHWANSTEIN, Germany's most famous castle, and probably the most famous in the world, perched atop Swan Rock in the foothills of the Alps. At the BMW Driving Experience you can learn how to control a BMW M properly, from professionals with long racing experience and seasoned M instructors. It takes place at the BMW and MINI Driving Academy in Maisach. For more fun, speed and safety. First we go to Marienbruecke (Mary's Bridge) sitting high above the Poellat Gorge, where you can take the best pictures. Because if you can cut a good figure on the track, you can handle whatever the road throws at you. It a fantastic experience, you should not miss! Gala Dinner in The BMW “Doppelkegel” ( Double Cone) From there we walk downhill for our guided tour. Neuschwanstein was designed for Ludwig by Christian Jank, a theatrical set designer, and built in the period from 1869 to 1876 incorporating the latest technologies of the day. Marvel at its architecture, opulence, and stunning views. Pose for photos set against the backdrop of the heart-stopping Tegelberg mountain. Then, head inside Neuschwanstein Castle for your walking tour, and learn how it was built for King Ludwig II in the 19th century. While the Romanesque Revival castle was intended as Ludwig’s retreat, the building was never completed and the king spent less than half a year living inside it. Admire the stately interiors, including murals that pay homage to compose Richard Wagner – Ludwig’s operatic idol – inside the Minstrel’s Hall. Explore rooms like Ludwig’s bedroom and admire the dazzling ornamentation of the Byzantine Throne Room. Afterwards we will enjoy lunch. i April 23, 2016 | 8:30 pm - 1:00 am Shuttle: 8:00 pm from the Hofbräuhaus € 120,00 Euro On our way back to Munich, we will travel along the Romantic Road to explore Wieskirche, a beautiful Rococo church.
