Dinosaur diorama EED: W H AT Y O U W I L L N Create a tiny dinosaur landscape - inside a jar! This challenge also requires: White Paper Pencil Ruler Clean, dry jar with a lid (and no label) Clay or plasticine Leaves and twigs (either real or plastic) Selection of small dinosaur figures We found that cheap dinosaur figures were easily available at our local £1 shop. Place it upside-down and mould two lumps of clay inside to make a pai ‘rocks’ as the basis for the scene. r of Check that the jar fits over the rocks before continuing. TIP: Prodding small holes with a toothpick or th e sharp end of a pencil will he lp you to position them securely. TIP: 2 Push twigs and leaves into the clay ‘rocks’ so they look like trees and bushes. All rights reserved. 2 of 6 3 Add your dinosaurs to the scene by arranging them into a dramatic pose. TIP: Push them into the clay a little bit so that they don’t fall over. 4 If you’re using the template background at the end of these instructions, print it out and place on a table. Using the jar as a guide, mark out with a pencil and ruler a rectangle to fit inside the jar. Instead of uld draw the template you co or cut one your own background out of a magazine. Put it inside the jar so that it curls around the back, with the picture facing inwards. If your background is too big for your jar remar k and recut the rectangle small er. TIP: 6 Carefully lower the jar over the rocks and tighten the lid, making sure the paper background doesn’t cover up your dramatic scene! If you used wet clay, you might want to wait until it dries.
