Dr. V. Sumantran is Executive Vice Chairman of Hinduja Automotive Limited, UK, the UK based holding group company of
Ashok Leyland, as well as a Member of the Board of Ashok Leyland and Chairman, Defiance . Dr. V. Sumantran serves on the
Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet and served on the Science Advisory Council of the Prime Minister. He is also a
Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
Dr. V. Sumantran previously was Executive Director of the Passenger Car Business and the Engineering Research Centre,
Tata Motors Limited. Prior to that, he had spent 16 years with General Motors Corporation, mostly in the US and subsequently
in Europe. He has served as President of the Automotive Research Association of India and Co-Chairman of the Engineering
Services Forum of NASSCOM.
Dr. V. Sumantran holds a Doctorate degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Master’s degree in Management of Technology.
He is a Fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers and a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineers.

Shri. Ratish Thakur holds an MBA in International Management from South Eastern
University Washington DC, USA and is a Qualified SAP Consultant. He has worked at
Senior Management Positions in International Business, held Directorships of
Multinational Companies and has been a Practicing Consultant for over 12 years. His
areas of expertise include International Business, Marketing and Management. He
achieved notable successes in helping Chinese Manufacturers break the OEM trap and
establish direct relations with European and American Retailers. He has a very deep
understanding of the Thailand retail Market Practices.
Shri. Ratish Thakur currently heads the Thailand Operations of Webster University (USA)
as Rector and is responsible for the ASEAN region. He has given a new direction and set a
blazing pace for the reorganization of the ASEAN operations of Webster University. The 5
year 500% growth plan, initiated by him, now in its second year, is ahead of target.
Shri. Rajeev Wasan is Vice President with Honda Siel Cars India Ltd (HSCI). He has held
several potions at the company including Head of Purchase, Executive Advisor of Honda
R&D Asia Pacific, Purchase Head of Honda Motor Company, Japan . He has also held long
stints at Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki Ltd.

Shri. Rajeev Wasan has been associated with Automotive Industry through out his career
and has experience in many area like Manufacturing, Planning, Quality Improvement
besides Purchasing. He is B.E. - Mechanical Engineering from Thapar Institute of
Technology. He is also well versed with Japanese Language.
Shri. Kochouseph Chittilappilly is Managing Director of V-Guard, a listed Company with
various Electrical, Electronic and Electro-Mechanical Products. Having started as a modest
Small Scale unit at the age of 27, he has turned V-Guard into Rs 400 crore company. In the
year 2000, he made a smart diversification to start an Amusement Park in the name “ Veega
Land”, which has now become one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Kerala. The
success story of “Veega Land” made him to venture another Amusement Park, ‘Wonderla’,
in Bangalore , which is the biggest Amusement Park in India.

Smt. R. Nandini is the Managing Director of the Chandra Group of Companies since 1994. During her tenure
the Groups turnover and growth have improved manifold and it is making foray into new and niche markets,
especially in Textiles. She also handles the affairs of the GRG Educational Institutions as its Founder Trustee &
Secretary. She also holds directorship in Magna Electro Castings Limited.
Smt. R Nandini is the Vice Chairperson, CII, Tamil Nadu State Council & Senate Member, Bharathiar
University, Coimbatore. She was rightly conferred the “Kongunattu Sathanaiyallar Award” by Nachimuthu
Industrial Institutions in February 2008 for her outstanding contribution towards the Industry, Education and
Social Service. She was also Conferred with “Pinnacle of Excellence” award by Rotary Club, Coimbatore in

Dr. M. Manickam is Vice Chairman and Managing Director of USD 1 Billion Sakthi Group that operates in
Sugar, Industrial Alcohol, Effluent Treatment Plant, Auto Components, Aero Space, Textiles, Transport,
Finance, Beverages, Soya Products, Dairy Products, Synthetic Gems Manufacture and Plantations Sectors.
The group has presence in 12 Countries through Various Subsidiaries. He has been Instrumental in the
turnaround strategy of the Group and its Expansion and Acquisitions. He has established World Class
Foundries in Tamilnadu. He played a pivotal role in the acquisition of “Intermet Europe” with Plants in Germany
& Portugal and Swedish Foundry by name “Arvika Gjuteri AB”
Dr. M. Manickam holds a MBA from Michigan University and M.Sc (Statistics) Degree with distinction from the
Madras University. He is the Chairman of the Governing Council of various Technical Institutes. He is Past
President of the Indian Sugar Mills Association, President of South Indian Sugar Mills Association and
President of Sugar Technologists of India. Currently he is a Member of the State Level Information and
Technology Task Force, Constituted by Government of Tamilnadu and in the Council of Agricultural Research
(ICAR) Society, Pune. He has been conferred the Degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) by the
Tamilnadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore.
Dr. G. Ranganathan is a Graduate in BE (Hons) - Mechanical Engineering from PSG College of Technology,
M.Tech - Production Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Diploma in Bearing Technology - Spindle
Bearings from RHP England and Ph.D. in Automobile Bearings from Bharathiyar University. After an illustrious
stint as Vice President in Pricol Limited and Managing Director in Roots Industries Limited, he has ventured his
own Company Neu Fricmat P. Ltd & Rover Components Limited at Coimbatore, which is into Manufacture of
Automobile Components.
