Those were the days before computer graphics and Trevor was delighted to be drawing for a living, producing magic marker visuals of advertisements and packaging for a variety of big brands and household names. In 1986 Trevor became a freelance artist. He started with advertising work from contacts he Visit us online at www.holdson.com Freephone: 0800 had made while employed in the industry, but it was illustrating for greeting card publishers that rekindled his childhood love of painting. Today, Trevor’s paintings can be found reproduced on prints, cards, jigsaw puzzles and collector plates all over the world. His favourite subjects always recreate the past on canvas, reflecting his interest in steam and vintage vehicles and his love of the countryside. 80 1939 Follow us on Facebook Home Is Where The Heart Is Labradors Stepping Out Crofters Cottage Afternoon Tea A BOUT TH E AR T IS T Tracy Hall is a watercolour artist who specialises in painting nature in detail in all its forms. Working exclusively in watercolour (both transparent and opaque), she enjoys the versatility of the medium and paints from life, photographs and imagination; more often than not all three in the same painting. Her images include everything from flowers and pets to wildlife and miniature art. It was after discovering miniature art in 2007 that a new and exciting chapter began, enabling Tracy to balance commissioned work for private and commercial clients with something purely for herself. She was instantly hooked and deeply honoured to be presented with several awards when she first exhibited her miniatures the following year, including the prestigious Gold Memorial Bowl from the Royal Miniature Society. Her work has also been used to raise funds for endangered wildlife and conservation and she is an elected member of several international miniature art societies. Tracy continues to exhibit regularly in the UK and abroad and works from her studio on the shores of Scapa Flow in Scotland - surrounded by paintings-in-waiting! Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Sheila Lee was close with her Irish grandmother. “Nanny” amused Sheila Lee for hours on end, telling stories from the old country and that love filled with wit and the Sisters at Blessed Sacrament School gave Sheila Lee wonderful childhood memories. In addition to those memories she has a perspective that sees the humor in practically every situation. To the viewer of her paintings, there is no such thing as a casual glance. Each painting captivates. As Sheila Lee’s stories unfold on Visit us online at www.holdson.com the canvas, you smile. For it is her philosophy to depict characters enjoying a simpler time, with a healthy dose of humor. Sheila Lee has developed her own unique style and approach and she leaves typical trademarks in many of her paintings… a Celtic cross, a shooting star in night skies, calico prints, quilt patterns, a white mutt with black spots. Not overly fond of cats, Sheila Lee often depicts a feline in some kind of trouble, being antagonized, or on the verge of getting into trouble. Children are often playing pranks somewhere in the canvas. She just creates from her heart, choosing subject matter that is guaranteed to make people smile. Her uniqueness is refreshing and very, very different, setting her apart from her peers. Her style has been labeled whimsical, humoristic, and narrative. She feels that her childhood contributed greatly to her work as her family was never at a loss for laughs. She believes it was because of this that her humoristic spirit has carried through into her work and given many people much joy. Anytime she can make someone smile or lighten up their life, it is a truly wonderful thing for her, truly a gift. Objectively, if her art has given you cheer, her goal has been accomplished. Road Icons Philosophically, she wants her paintings to say something and not used to match sofas or fill wall space. Her work is detailed, colorful and extremely verbal, most always telling a story. She also refers to her individual titles as an added bonus as they are equally as entertaining.
