The Sonoma County Family Y is a cause-driven organization
that is for youth development, for healthy living, and for social
responsibility. That’s because a strong community can only be
achieved when we invest in our kids, our health, and our
neighbors.
Mission Statement
The Sonoma County Family YMCA seeks to enhance the lives
of all people through programs designed to develop spirit,
mind, and body. We are dedicated to the values of caring,
honesty, respect and responsibility.
Opportunities for All
The Y is for everyone. Our programs, services and initiatives
enable kids to realize their potential, prepare teens for college,
offer ways for families to have fun together, empower people
to be healthier in spirit, mind and body, prepare people for
employment, welcome and embrace newcomers and help foster
a nationwide service ethic. And that’s just the beginning.

YMCA Corporate Wellness Program
A company’s most valuable asset is its employees. A
healthy workforce leads to better productivity, less
absenteeism, higher company morale, and lower
healthcare costs, all of which have a direct impact on
the success of the company. By partnering with the
Y, companies can provide their employees with a comprehensive wellness program, health education, and
savings on a Y membership. For more information

We recognize the challenges facing our neighbors. People of all ages and backgrounds
are struggling to reach their full potential. More and more children face seemingly
insurmountable learning gaps. Families find it difficult to spend quality time together.
People are not connected to their neighbors and face time happens through a phone.
But when challenges arise, the Y-and donors like you-steps in. After 62 years of
serving Sonoma County, the Y understands what our community needs to be its best.
Working with generous donors like you, the Y provides everyone the opportunity to be
healthy & thrive, to connect with others, & contribute to a better community. As a
charity organization, we never turn away anyone who needs us.
Endowment Gifts
Be More Than a Member
The YMCA solicits bequests or gifts which may be
invested as endowments to produce income to ensure the continuance of our programs and services.
Gifts may be made in various ways during a lifetime
or after. Bequests, insurance, stocks, trusts, property or outright gifts of cash are some alternatives.
An endowment contributor receives recognition as
a member of the YMCA Heritage Club. For more information please contact Michelle Head, 545-9622
x3120.
We know your Y membership gives you a lot and
now it is even easier for you to give to others. For
just a few extra dollars a month, you can provide
access to health and wellness opportunities to
youth and families in need. For more information or
to set up your account, contact Kathy Baldwin,
[email protected] or 545-9622 x3125.
Annual Giving Campaign
In order to continue to provide quality programs
and facilities at reasonable prices and provide
more than $200,000 in financial assistance annually, we are engaged in several fundraising opportunities. Campaigners are needed every year to
help us with this grass roots effort to raise money
for our scholarship program. For more information
contact Michelle Head, 545-9622 x3120.
When you give to the Y, your gift will have a meaningful, enduring impact right in
your own community.

Swim Lesson General Information
The Y Swim Lesson Program focuses on 5
key components consisting of personal
safety, personal growth, stroke development, water sports and games, and rescue
components. Participants are taught in a
non-competitive environment. Each child
will progress at his or her own pace. Because each level builds on skills taught in
previous levels, it is important to place
your child in the correct level. It is also
important not to progress the child to the
next level until he or she is physically and
mentally ready and can perform the skills
at his or her current level proficiently.
Some levels are more difficult than others
and may take several sessions to learn all
the skills necessary to move to the next
level. If currently enrolled, the participant
will receive a progress report from the
instructor the week prior to registration,
informing the participant if he/she must
repeat the level or if he/she may move to
the next level.
