GROWING STRONGER—TOGETHER
From Janet Nelson, Aquatics Director
Swim lessons are busy this summer—take a minute to register
now for fall swim lessons before they are all gone!
Over 90 non-swimmers participated in our June Spash Week.
Beginning swimmers participated in stroke development and
water safety! Many thanks to Tri-State Surgical Associates,
LLC in Elkton: Dr. Elizabeth Lowe, Dr. Hien Nguyen and Dr.
Prakash Vaidyanathan for their generous donation to support
Splash Week.
Have you tried the Master’s Swim Program? Adult swimmers
must be able to complete 50 yards of freestyle and 50 yards of
backstroke to join. Schedule a time with Coach Paul Grube for
your stroke development session.

YOU BELONG
AT THE Y
Please join us in welcoming Becky Stilwell to our Y!
Becky is the new membership director. Becky’s
experience with and love for the YMCA is at the
heart of everything she does.
Stop in and say hello!
The Y is Determined:
We are passionate about our quest to help others,
and we devote our full strength and concentrated
attention to our cause.
MAKING A
DIFFERENCE
It’s said the more things change, the more they stay the
same. This is certainly true of the YMCA. Throughout
the decades, social challenges have changed dramatically, and the needs of the community have relentlessly
evolved. But the Y has always been there as a constant
and reliable source of hope, support and inspiration.
Our community needs also continue to change — the
lifestyle health and obesity crisis, the depletion of family
time resulting from parents having to work to survive,
military families coping with loved ones overseas, and
the need to serve more people in ever more meaningful
ways to stay confident and secure. The challenges will
change and programs and services will continue to
evolve, but our unwavering willingness and ability to
support our communities will always remain at the core
of the YMCA.
The Y is Committed:
Through May 2012 The YMCA of Cecil County, Inc
has returned over $102,000 to the community in
financial assistance.
