Advantageously Bus A Swedish perspective Kortrijk 2015 The Swedish Bus & Coach Federation • The Swedish Bus and Coach Federation was formed in 1998, and has some 400 member companies with 23.000 employees in all.The Swedish Bus and Coach Federation organizes private and municipal companies in the bus and coach industry. • Collective agreements are signed with Swedish Municipal Workers' Union and Transport Workers' Union, the Salaried Employees' Union, the Swedish Association of Graduate Engineers. New image project in Sweden, Advantageously Bus • The board of The Swedish Bus & Coach Federation has decided that we should clearly package and communicate the bus sector benefits - what the industry companies are offering in terms of secure jobs with passengers, as cost-effectively provide increased availability and reduced environmental impact.When we build a bus-friendly infrastructure - across Europe! The bus industry will attract qualified job seekers in all industry categories. 2. It is attractive to be a bus driver. 3. Aspiring high school students see secondary education to bus drivers as an attractive choice. 4. Bus and Coach collective agreements benefit member companies' development and competitiveness and provide labor peace. 5. The bus is the obvious choice for public transport. 6. Our cities are built for public transport, with effective solutions for high capacity bus service in our five largest cities. 7. Terms, taxes and laws that are competitively neutral, fit reality and easy to superintend in Sweden and the EU, will create opportunities to develop the bus companies' operations. 8. A fully operational EU internal market provides the conditions for bus tourism to grow. 9. We have a good work relationship with public sector clients around regarding procurement issues for the bus industry which will lay the foundation for a healthy market, where the contract process is the common tool. 10. All buses operate on a competitively neutral and transparent market with access to all communal infrastructure in cooperation with the regional public transport authorities. 11. Easy to find and learn more for each of our five watchwords • • • • • Slogans Present situation Overall objectives Challenges Activities to reach our objectives Besides Advantageously Bus we are also working with high lightening Good examples Flygbussarna Airport Coaches – your first step out into the world • An award winning company !!! • Over two thirds of our coaches run on 100% RME – a biofuel produced from rapeseed. • All coaches to Arlanda run on 100% RME. • Our long-term goal is for all our vehicles to run on completely fossil-free fuels. • The coaches that run on diesel use an RME mix. • Our drivers are an important part of our environmental efforts, and through the initiative SMART Driving we have succeeded in reducing our fuel consumption by approximately 8%. SMART Driving means that all our drivers are trained in eco-driving and measuring overconsumption. To ensure commitment, we run an individual bonus scheme based on how 'green' they are when they drive. All our coaches are equipped with trip computers which measure overconsumption. • We work with informing about and increasing environmental awareness within the company. • The Flygbussarna coach departures are often adapted to flight departures and arrivals. This means that we do not make any unnecessary journeys. It may also at times mean waiting for a few passengers before the coach can depart, but this is something we hope customers can understand. Should there be buses built taking even disabled people as far as Spain I both should and will respond to the task. – It will be awesome! Today I do not even take the bus to school or when I am visiting my friends since no buses are adjusted. Hopefully there will be a change to this situation.
