Christine Borders is the Art Director at Bulldog Creative Services, a full service advertising and design agency located in downtown Huntington. Borders grew up in North Carolina, South Carolina and then moved to Beckley, W.Va. She received her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Marshall University in 2004. Huntington grew on Borders through college, so after graduation she decided to stay in the area. As the Art Director, she manages design projects for clients throughout the country. Duties include, but aren’t limited to: creating designs and layouts for different collateral pieces, identity branding, outdoor media, web design etc. Some of the projects she has been involved with include Marshall University Football and Basketball Campaigns (posters, outdoor advertisement, schedule cards, brochures, etc.) and Pullman Plaza’s identity, marketing materials, signage & website. Some of the projects that Borders has been involved with have won National Graphic Design awards. Borders enjoys being involved with the community, volunteering and watching Huntington grow a little more every day. Borders is a huge college football fan. She enjoys painting and loves to travel whenever she gets the opportunity. Please RSVP by Friday, April 4 to Michaele Craig at [email protected]. ■ Ambassadors delivering 'Sweet Results' to local businesses The Ambassadors of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce are working to inform members of the business services available to them as a benefit of Chamber membership. Through the Sweet Results program, Ambassadors visit member businesses and deliver a dozen donuts provided by Jolly Pirate. Each business receives a membership survey to complete in order to provide the Chamber with information on how to better communicate with area businesses and of specific needs or concerns an owner or manager may have. ■ Ambassador Chairman Jennifer Wheeler of the Marshall University Foundation presents a Sweet Results delivery to Young Professionals Committee Chairman Joseph Randolph, branch manager of Wachovia Securities. Ambassadors Kevin Ward of Rumpke Waste and Recycling and Patricia Bostic of American Benefit Corporation, along with Ambassador Chairman Jennifer Wheeler present a Sweet Results delivery to Michele Craig, executive director of Region II Planning and Development. The YPC Indoor Soccer Team finished their first season in second place, with an outstanding record of 9-1-1. Their only loss came during the championship game. The Huntington YPC will be partnering with the Cabell-Huntington Health Department to Walk It Up! The WalkItUp! campaign is a multi-faceted physical activity campaign to promote walking through our communities. It will increase public awareness of the benefits of walking, especially relating to sense of wellbeing and provide education on how to begin and sustain a personal walking regiment. WalkItUp! will create a positive environment for people in which physical activity is accessible, safe, affordable, fun and supported. The YPC will be participating in this six-week campaign by walking a minimum of 30 minutes a day, beginning April 5 until May 17. Registration information to follow next week. The conference, held in Morgantown, begins at 1 p.m. and lasts through the afternoon, featuring a reception following the conference. Average savings for use of this card is up to 35%. This card is perfect for those without insurance, or for medicines not covered by insurance.
