By Ashley Gripon Hey y’all, I’m Maggie Barry the Chapter Treasurer and I’m raising two lambs, a county pig, and county rabbits! And I want our chapter to do it's very best at everything! I became an officer to get more involved. I'm on the chapter conducting and dairy cattle judging teams. I joined FFA because I've always wanted to raise animals. I’d tell new and old members to do as much as they can or want to because the more involved you are the more fun you'll have! Member of the Month- By Emma Parton Samantha Sweetin is a ninth grader this year, and this is her first time in FFA. Samantha joined FFA, because her dad did it during his high school years. She thought it was interesting and joined this year. Samantha is raising a show pig named Bullet and will be raising chickens for Galveston County Fair. This year, she is the president of the Greenhand officers. She participated in Ag Advocacy this fall and wants to do Dairy Judging in the spring. Samantha hopes that she can do more to help encourage greenhand membership for the chapter this year.
