Dwight Armstrong, chief executive officer of the National FFA Organization and the National FFA Foundation, will offer the keynote address at the 2015 Purdue Ag Alumni Fish Fry. The event will take place on Saturday, February 7th at 11:30 a.m. in the Blue Ribbon Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. Dr. Armstrong leads the National FFA Organization, which serves 610,240 student members belonging to 7,665 local chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. He also serves as the chief executive officer of the National FFA Foundation which builds partnerships with industry, education, government, foundations and individuals to secure resources for the future of education, agriculture and student leader development. Prior to being named CEO, Dr. Armstrong was the chief operation officer for National FFA. He served as the CEO of North American Nutrition Companies, Director of the Americas and eventually Global Group Vice President of Provimi, a global animal nutrition company. He was also on the faculty of North Carolina State University, engaging in teaching, research and extension in the swine nutrition area. Dr. Armstrong has served on sseveral industry and non -profit boards throughout his career. He has a B.S. degree in Agriculture from Murray State University and his M.S. and Ph.D. from Purdue University in Animal Science. Tickets are now on sale for $25 each.
