Adding Images to PowerChart
Pulling Images into PowerChart
To begin adding Images from an encrypted device to PowerChart, perform the below steps:
1. Access the Clinical Media section of the PowerChart Table of Contents
2. Locate the Add dropdown
3. Click Add

4. Perform the steps for adding files from an encrypted device as overviewed below:
5. The image is pulled into PowerChart upon clicking Commit.

6. If desired, create subfolders for storing images by clicking the below icon. Upon clicking the
icon, rename the folder as desired.
Adding Images to a Note (If desired note template doesn’t contain Images Section, see next topic)
To add images to a note, perform the following steps (Note: Images added via this method will appear
in the Patient’s After Visit Summary):
1. Open a note via the Encounter Pathway tab of Documents section of PowerChart.

2. Access the Images section in the Table of Contents of the Note.
3. Click Insert Image
4. Previously added images can easily be added by selecting them and clicking Include. To add
additional images as previously performed, click Add dropdown and repeat previously executed
steps above. Click Include after images desired to be added to the note are highlighted.

5. Prior to adding images to the note, view of listed images can be changed to show thumbnails of
different sizes or to show no thumbnails at all.
Adding Images to a Note without an existing Images Section
1. From the already open note, choose Documentation and then Insert Encounter Pathway
2. Then, search for and select the Image Note MCG.

3. The Image section is added to the Note.
4. To save newly merged template for future use, select Documentation in the main top menu,
then choose Save As Precompleted Note. Then name the note and it will be accessible in the
future from the Precompleted Note tab of the Documents section of PowerChart.
Adding Images to a note via the Insert Image Icon
Additionally, images can be added to a note via the Insert Images
icon. (Note: Images added via the
Insert Images icon will not be visible to the patient in the After Visit Summary.)
1. Locate the insert images icon within the Note’s header.
2. Choose image to insert via the means previously described.
