Fun things to do with your paper!
Vacation!
School is about to start so better plan a last
minute vacation! First you need to decide
where to go. The newspaper has lots of opportunities to help you decide where to go
or, more importantly, where not to go. Scan
through the paper. Can you find places that
you should not go? For example, is it too hot
or cold somewhere? Do you see places in the
paper that look fun? This can be in advertisements or in articles.
Now that you have decided where to go,
look at the weather. What is the weather for
where you want to go? How will you need
to dress for this location? Develop a list to
pack. Take into consideration how you will

travel train, plane, or car? Can you find any
advertisements for this if so, how much will
it cost? Will you need snacks or food on this
trip? What should you bring? Will you stay
in hotels or camp?
Once you have your list, go shopping in the
advertisements and figure out how much it
will cost to get what you need. Cut out the
items you would buy and paste them on a
piece of paper. Draw a map of your trip and
plan a day by day itinerary (a plan of what
you are going to do and where you are going
to go).
When you are done show your vacation plans
to your parent!
