Martin Luther King Jr. was a brave man. He
changed the rules to make equal rights for African
Americans and white people. He fought
segregation. He gave his “I Have A Dream” speech
to many people. Martin Luther King Jr. made good
changes for everyone.

The Basketball Star
Jeff is a superstar basketball player. Every time opponent basketball players
try to block his shots nothing can stop him! But then a basketball player named
Greg came along! He is the greatest player of all time. Jeff and his team are
playing the Vipers team. Jeff practiced shooting balls. Tonight at 8:00, they will
play in a championship game!
In the 1st quarter, Jeff called out to his teammates. He said, “I will pass to
you.” He passed to his players. Player number 23 dunked the ball!! The score is
two to zero. Then Greg shoots a three pointer! Jeff runs to the basket… he scores!
Number 12 gets the rebound and passes to Jeff. He shoots and a 3 pointer shot
goes in!! Greg faked a shot and he passed to number 18. He shoots… but missed
it.
Later in the 2nd quarter…the score is 36 to 40. Jeff shoots and he scores a 3
pointer! It is 39 to 40. Jeff steals the ball. He dunks it! Greg shoots… he scores!
Jeff shoots but he misses the shot. It is a foul! Greg will have two free throws. He
hits both! Now the score is 41 to 44. Jeff’s team is losing. His coach calls a
timeout… Soon … Jeff is unstoppable in the 3rd quarter!! Jeff shoots and he gets a
3 points! The score is now 62 to 61. Greg shoots it makes 2 points. Later in the 4th
quarter the game is tied 82 to 82. There are 5 seconds left!!! Jeff passes the ball.
His teammates passed to Jeff. He shoots and Jeff makes a 3 point shot!!! He and
his team won the championship game!!

“The Fictional Battle That Changed World War II Forever”
On December 11th, 1941 the United States president gave a speech stating that Pearl Harbor
was viciously attacked by Japan. Not many people survived. When General Eisenhower heard of the
attack, he got nervous. A private woke him up at 3:00 in the morning to help with the relief efforts.
When he arrived at the dock area, Eisenhower started barking orders, “MOVE IT! I don’t want
to be killed by a Japanese zero. LET’S MOVE, MOVE, MOVE, MOVE!” Everyone was running around like
chickens with their heads cut off trying to hide explosives.
A sergeant yelled in pain. Eisenhower looked over and saw him get shot in the head. A mixture
of blood and brains hit the dock. Eisenhower vomited. He went inside the HQ. He heard gunfire all
around the halls. Eisenhower peered outside. The tank that was protecting the guard tower was a mess
of charred metal, its crew blown apart. The guard tower suddenly exploded. Eisenhower went inside a
military barracks area and saw a marine with a bayonet protruding from his elbow, where it had gone
through. The building was filled with wounded and injured. The floors were caked in blood. Another
explosion hit and knocked the general off his feet. He got back up and took out his Colt 45, 1911 pistol
and checked his clip. Satisfied that it was a full clip, he slammed it back into place. He pulled the pistol
slide back and with a metallic snap he loaded a round into the chamber.
Eisenhower walked outside and got jumped. It took a whole clip before the enemy soldier died.
The Japanese soldier managed to catch his intestines in his hands before he died.
Four years later the President sent Eisenhower with a five-hundred tank platoon into northern
Japan. They kept going forward, tank treads kicking up dirt as they went. Three hours later they arrived
at a roadblock. The lead tank decimated the roadblock and moved forward. Another three hours went
by and they still were three-hundred-thirty three miles from their target. The tanks hit land mines and
lost men. Thirty tanks were all that was left of his platoon.
Twenty-five minutes later, Eisenhower arrived at the Japanese temple owned by Tojo, Japan’s
emperor. He was shocked by what he saw. They were looking at a group of Japanese tanks, Type 59
main battle tank-- very powerful, very deadly. Tojo was a strict man and heavily guarded. There were at
least one hundred tanks in their way. Twenty minutes later they were on foot and assaulting the temple.
They were losing the battle with the Japanese army. They were losing men left and right. One got his
head blown off by a sniper.
“Move out!” said Eisenhower. Then, after fourteen hours of heavy fighting, they were hit by a
barrage of mortars. Tojo was watching as his land was turned into a war zone.
“How dare these Americans turn my country into a battlefield!” A Japanese soldier ran in. “Sir!
Sir! We have a problem! My men are dying from American tanks! We need to leave now!”
“I AM NOT A COWARD!” shouted Tojo. “I will not leave my temple and let it be destroyed by
American tanks!” He slapped the solder so hard that he was knocked out before he hit the floor. Once
he did hit the floor, he had his skull caved in by Tojo. Blood was left on Tojo`s boot.
“OH MY GOD!!!” said a private before being blown apart by a mortar. His blood showered
Eisenhower. Eisenhower vomited.
GENERAL MISSION CLOCK: JANUARY 3rd, 1945. 1200 HOURS (MIDNIGHT)
Thirty-three minutes of heavy fighting ensued. They saw a temple and Eisenhower knew he was
in the right place. He lit a cigar, blew heavy smoke, and said, “So this is Tojo`s temple. Nice!”
A sergeant called out, “Sir! Special delivery!” He then tossed Eisenhower a grenade launcher. He
tried to catch it but missed. It hit the floor and went off, killing an American. Eisenhower picked up the
grenade launcher, reloaded it, and fired. They fired grenade launchers and rockets at the temple. After
two hours of shooting grenades, they finally destroyed the temple. The temple exploded into rubble in
minutes. The explosions killed Tojo. He ran out in a ball of fire. Eisenhower had enough time to say,
”Hey, Tojo, you're ...” before he was shot in the side. He fell and hit the floor.
“...Dead.” said the enemy soldier. However, he was mistaken. The soldier packed up his rifle and
hauled butt back to base. He got a face full of dirt from falling face first after stepping on a shell casing.
He popped back up spitting dirt and cussing like a Japanese sailor.
Eisenhower was nervous that he might die. He prayed, “Lord above. Please don't let me die! I
want to live to fight this war and help my country stay free of corruption. Let me live!!!” Then he passed
out.
One of his men shouted in anger, “NOOOO! MAN DOWN! MEDIC!!”
More men arrived. “Cover me.” said the corporal. The corporal ripped his sidearm free of its
holster.
“COVERING FIRE!” bawled a sergeant. The corporal fired his pistol as he ran, and then reloaded.
He knocked the enemies down left and right, he reloaded again. He even blew someone’s head clean off
the spine, sending the helmet colliding with a wall. The helmet shattered. A piece of the helmet hit
another enemy in the face. The rest of the pieces hit another enemy in the groin, causing him to squeal
like a pig in a butcher shop. He was louder than a thundering shotgun blast. The corporal was about to
execute him, but decided not to. He found the general and saw that he was out cold.
The general woke up on the back of a jeep.
“What happened?” asked Eisenhower.
“You were shot by a sniper.” replied the medic. Eisenhower passed out.
“Oh great.” said a private. “He passed out again. Step on it! If he dies, you're burying him.”
Three hours later they got to the field hospital. Eisenhower woke up in a hospital bed. Blood was oozing
from his side where his left kidney was. When he got shot, his left kidney was shredded into ribbons.
Three months later, a private ran in. “We won the war! Japan surrendered!” Three weeks later
they celebrated the victory with ice cold champagne. They got very drunk. By the time the celebration
was over, there were forty champagne bottles, all empty.
Eisenhower died forty years later due to old age. Eisenhower was eighty. We all think of
Eisenhower as America's hero and general. As we look back we realize that World War II was the
bloodiest war in history. We all look back at that fateful war and realize that we never would have won
the war without Eisenhower. He was a general and will always be a hero of America. This goes to show
that wherever there is trouble, America will be there to help. This is a fictional story of that day and why
we are all grateful to be Americans. I hope this is going to help people realize that America is in good
hands. In a few months we will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of D-Day.

One day, I was watching TV and I heard that there was going to be a big wrestling match at the
Washington Ave. Armory in Albany. The TV said “The person who wins this match will win a free 7-day vacation to
Maine.” I wanted to be in it, so I started doing some training for about three weeks. Then, I signed up for it and I
told the manager that I wanted my name to be Mr. Big. He agreed because he thought that name would be cool
also.
The next day, I woke up and I was surprised because it was the day for the wrestling match. I got dressed
in my wrestling uniform and I wore a helmet to protect my head. When I got to the Armory, all the fans were
cheering for me. I said to myself, “I hope I win because I tried so hard and I don’t want to let my fans down.”
When I was in the ring, I was really diligent and I was ready to fight the first boss, Power Man. The bell
rang and I started fighting Power Man. I used my secret special moves and Power Man fell to the ground on his
stomach. The referee was counting to ten and Power Man wouldn’t get up, so he lost the match. The score was 1
to 0.
When it was Round 2, the bell rang again and I was going to be against Steelhead. He was even stronger
than Power Man. I used my special moves (like I did in the first round) and Steelhead fell on his back. The referee
was counting again and Steelman wouldn’t get up. He lost the match too. The score was 2 to 0.
When Round 3 began, it was me against a boss named Slim. Slim was the weakest boss there and all I had
to do was just tackle him. When Slim lost, the crowd was laughing because they thought that weak people
shouldn’t be in wrestling matches. I said to myself, “I can’t believe I’m winning! This is so awesome!”
When it was Rounds 4, 5, and 6, I lost because the bosses were a lot stronger than me. The score was now
3 to 3 and I was shocked because I thought I was going to be the strongest guy there. The last boss was named
Super Fighter. When the bell rang, we started fighting and it took a long time because Super Fighter was using the
same moves as I was. I fell down and when the referee got to 6, Super Fighter got up and I was REALLY angry
because I really wanted to win this match. When Super Fighter turned around, I jumped on him, tackled him,
closed my eyes and tried to hold him down with all my might.
Then...What happened? I opened my eyes and when the referee said “10!”, he was still down. The score
was now 4 to 3. And you know what...I WON! The crowd was roaring, cheering, whistling, and chanting “Mr. Big!
Mr. Big! Mr. Big!” I was so proud of myself and a man said “Congratulations, Mr. Big! You have just won a free 7day vacation in Maine!” Then, he gave me my prize.
After I told my parents that I had won the match and earned a vacation, they were very happy for me.
When I arrived in Maine, I had dinner at the Goldenrod Restaurant. I ate a chicken club sandwich with French fries
on the side and I bought a lot of taffy for dessert. The next day, I went to the Fun-O-Rama arcade, York’s Wild
Kingdom Amusement Park & Zoo, and the beach. I really liked the beach because I like to swim in the ocean and I
like to relax in the sun. Don’t you try this if you don’t want to chance it! Anyway, that was the best time of my life.

THE SWITCH
Michael James is a combination of Michael Jordan and Lebron James. He is on a quest to become a
professional basketball player again. He got injured the first time and took a little break or time off. He
forgot how to shoot three pointers, and he quit the first time. However, his friends’ encouraged him to
play again, his coach is Coach Hubbs.
Michael James has allies named Larry Bird, Dwayne Wade, and Kevin Durant. They were the ones that
helped Michael James start his career back up. Michael James is wearing Lebron Soldier’s 11`s. The
colors of the shoes are green, pink and purple. Michael James leaves his hometown to go play
basketball. Michael James guardian is Chiron the alien. He gets mad when people get close to him or
Michael James. Michael James’ first test is to win the basketball game. Chiron the alien has to go with
him to protect him.
Michael James has an argument with Dwayne Wade. Michael James’ quest is to become a professional
basketball player again. Then Michael James and Larry Bird have a three-point shootout. When Michael
James plays his first big game. Michael James second test is his biggest challenge, he wants to win the
playoffs.
Michael James sprained his wrist. Michael James’ atonement is that he saw his dad’s basketball Hall
of Fame card implanted with gold. Michael’s third test is that he has to recover and practice for the
playoffs. Michael James broke a new record with 123 points in one game, wins the game and the
Trophy.

Toy Train 1889

One day Charlie tried to invent the first toy train. Charlie lived
in Albany City in 1889. He tried the toy train but it did not work AT
ALL!!! He was SCARED because the train was sparking! He was also a
bit mad. He was fixing the toy train. First, he made new wires. Next,
he made a new transformer. Then, he bought a new engine. Last he
made a new track. Then he tried it. THE TOY TRAIN WORKED!!!
Charlie was so EXCITED!!! Then he sold a whole bunch. Charlie was
RICH!!!

Monster vs. Alien
Susan was walking on a sidewalk to see a movie at the movie
theater. Susan is a character from ‘Monster vs Alien, the Movie’.
When she was inside the movies, she was fighting with an alien
from another planet. The Alien has a big head with short antenna. It
was very ugly. Susan defeated the ugly alien and had saved the Earth.
After that she went to go visit Mom and Dad.

One day my family told me to get a job. So I told them I wanted to join the
military. They told me if I passed the military test I could join. I was 25 years old and I
signed up for the test. I was nervous about taking the test, but I passed. I told my family
that I passed and they were happy but sad because I had to leave in three days. I packed
my bags and waited at the door for the military bus to take me to the US Army base. The
bus finally came and everyone in my family started to cry when I got on the bus and I
left.
When I got to the base, I was picked to be trained as a sniper. They grouped me
up with a partner. We became friends and we had to train together. We heard gun shots,
trucks running, and bullet shells in the air. I smelled cooking oil, food, and fresh air. My
friend and I were told we were going into a battle.
We had fear in our eyes and we were shaking when we headed to the plane. I was
a little scared of heights. Then when we landed, everyone split up into groups and we
headed out to the battlefield. I heard a gunshot and I turned around and my friend was
shot! I was terrified! My heart was beating really fast and my breathing was heavy. I
picked him up and ran for safety. Then I went back into the battle and snipered.
When I got back to the base I got told I was going back home for five months. My
family was happy to see me alive. I got a letter from the base that said I was the highest
rank in the sniper group. When I got home I told everyone about how I was shaking
when I had to go into a battle and how I saved my partner. When the war was over I got
a medal for saving my partner and going back to help my people fight the war.Then
when I got out of the Army, I joined the Navy and became a Navy Seal. I had to do
eleven years of hard work to become a Navy Seal. It was a lot of hard work, but I don’t
regret any of it!

A Hero’s Journey
A Myth I Wrote Myself
The main character in my story is Iris, the Goddess of the rainbow.
Her journey is going to get the Golden Fleece. One of the problems was
that Thalia’s tree got poisoned. Iris’s friend Percy had dreams about
Grover in trouble. Grover is the satyr, and Aphrodite is a helper.
The Allies and companions are Annabeth, Percy, and Clarisse.
Aphrodite’s tool is lipstick that is a laser. After getting their tools
ready they went to go to the sea of monsters where the Cyclops lives.
When they got there Annabeth and Clarisse told Percy not to go in the
water where the sharks were.
After that the first test came to them and it was the Minotaur’s. They
came and attacked them the team. The brothers Zeus, Poseidon and
Hades went into a horrible storm. Mostly Zeus got angry. Iris then
battled the world’s biggest Cyclops from the sea of monsters.
After the battle they went to sleep and then Iris had a nightmare.
When they woke up, they walked back to the water. After that they
went into the water and sharks tried to come up and eat them. After
that the sharks squeezed Clarisse into simmering gold dust and she
went to the underworld. When Iris saw that Clarisse turned to dust she
cried and tried to find her. But before she could find her she saw
hungry trolls that eat humans. They said a magic word and the
sharks swam away. The girls then went back to Camp Half Blood
with Clarisse.
Annabeth and Iris got a magic flight. They were trying to get away
from the three Furies. When Percy was going to die, Iris helped him
and brought him back to Camp Half Blood. They also saved Grover
from the Cyclops. Then all the hero’s got to live freely back at Camp
Half Blood.

My Hero’s Journey
Mark was a 17 years old teenage boy. Mark was
looking for gold in the Tunnel of Monsters in Athens, Greece.
Cerberus was chasing Mark and he was trying to kill Cerberus.
Tim, Mary, and Hary were helping Mark kill the monster with
bows and arrows. Zoe, Tom, and Teace were carrying swords.
On their way to the tunnel of monsters, they tried to kill the
monsters.
Jack (Mark’s brother) and Mark argued because the
tunnel was dangerous. Mark still continued to look for the gold
in the Tunnel of the Monsters. Entering the tunnel, he saw a
criminal with a vaporizer. Mark tried to kill the criminal. The
criminal dropped the vaporizer and Mark killed the criminal.
The monster Talos picked Mark and Jack up. He threw
Mark into the pit and Mark broke his leg. Mark used his magical
lotion to fix his leg. He climbed out of the pit to go after the
monster Talos. Mark used a sword to kill Talos. Mark found the
gold in the Tunnel of the Monsters and he returned home. His
mom was so happy to see him.

My Adventure Into Minecraft
A Myth I Wrote Myself
One day I was playing Minecraft on my computer and all of a sudden it crashed. The computer screen
went black and something strange happened. The screen started to swirl and I got sucked into a giant
hole. I passed out and when I woke up I surprised to find myself in the world of Minecraft. I looked down
at my hands and they looked pixilated. I new I had to find a way out through the nether portal. It would
be hard to get to it because I would have to fight spiders, creepers, zombies and skeletons. I started
walking through and I came across a talking Minecraft pig and cow. They offered to help me find my way
back home. They gave me tools like a pickaxe, sword, axe, shovel, and a hoe. We were ready for our
quest.
We were walking through some underground caves and all of a sudden I came across some zombies. I
knew that we would have to fight them. So I grabbed my sword and started to battle. Then the pig and
cow got bit by a zombie and combined into a monster. I was scared because I would have to fight them
off. I have to fight them to get to the nether portal on my own. I continued to walk and I found a
dungeon with skeletons. They were armed with bows and arrows and they started shooting at me. I got
shot in the knee with a poisonous arrow. I began to get sick and dizzy and weak. I thought I was going to
die. Then the cow and pig come back and apologized. They found a brewing stand and made a special
potion that turned them back to normal. Then they made me a healing potion to help me get stronger. I
thanked them and forgave them about turning into a monster and trying to eat me.
The potion made me blind so they gave me a night vision potion to help me see in the dark. We
continued though the caves and we saw a dim light in the distance. It was the Nether Portal!!! I was
finally going to go home. I was a little sad that I was leaving my new friends, but I was happy to get out
of Minecraft. They gave me a medal and thanked me for helping them defeat their enemies. I walked
through the Nether Portal and I was home.

Our story started in London in 1972. We went to the office of Professor Thompson and
his partner Dr. Noah. They were both detectives.
One day a woman, the museum curator, came into the office of Thompson and Noah. She
was scared and afraid. She had tears in her eyes, red cheeks, and her nose was running.
“Someone broke into the museum and stole the London jewels!” Then she fainted. They
took the case.
They started at the scene of the crime. Professor Thompson smelled acid from a giant
hole where the jewels were. Then the Professor dusted for fingerprints. They found footprints of
a size ten boot. So they compared the footprints to every villain they captured. And there was
only one person who had the same sized foot, evil Doctor T!
They went to the lab of T. When Professor Thompson and Dr. Noah busted in, they
found out it was a trap. Dr. T’s henchmen tied them up. Then he told them of his evil plot .He
built a machine that could be powered by the London jewels.The machine could cut through
glass and grab anything as fast as a cheetah. He was going to use the machine to steal the
Queen’s jeweled crown before she headed to a gala.
Dr. T opened a drawer and grabbed a gun, but before he could do that he had to get rid of
any witnesses. So he had to kill Professor Thompson and Dr. Noah. But Professor Thompson
used his monocle to magnify the sun’s rays and cut the ropes before Dr. T shot the bullet. Then
Dr. T shot the rest of the bullets. When he ran out of bullets he dropped his gun. It made a loud
banging sound, but the gun wasn’t empty. There was still one bullet in the gun. When the gun hit
the floor, a bullet shot out and bounced all over the room. It went right through Professor
Thompson’s hat. The doctor tried to get away, but Thompson was one step ahead. So Professor
Thompson tackled Dr. T and put the handcuffs on him and the case was solved.
So Dr. T went to the London jail. Thompson and Noah returned the jewels to the London
Museum. The Queen still had her crown. The museum curator was so happy that she jumped for
joy. So the sun sets on London, and it’s the end of Dr. T.

I like playing soccer outside with my friend Tony.
We have fun! We do lots of other things too. We help
mom bake cupcakes. Then we play hide-n-seek with my
sister, Cindy. One time Tony slept over at my house.
We went with mom and dad to the store and mom
bought me nail polish in all different colors. My family
and I like to watch Rachel Ray’s cooking show on T.V.
too when Tony is over. We also sit around and play

First I will describe Shania Twain. Shania
Twain’s real name is Eileen Edwards. She
was born 1965 in Canada. She sings
country music, has long curly black hair and
a nice smile. She is married and has one
son.
Next, I will describe Shania Twain’s road
to fame. Shania often grabbed a guitar in
the quiet of her own bedroom and played
and played until her fingers ached. Her
mother noticed her talent and encouraged
her by booking her to play and sing in
nursing homes and community centers. In
1987 at age 21 Shania lost her parents in
an automobile accident. She then took on
the raising of her siblings. She worked at
Ontario’s Deer Hurst Resort in order to
support the family. There she learned
theatre performance. When her siblings
were old enough she went to Nashville on
her own. She broke into fame at age 30.
Finally I will list Shania Twain’s popular
songs. Some of her famous songs are:
“Man, I Feel Like a Woman,”
“That Don’t Impress Me Much,”
“The Woman in Me” which sold
10 million copies.
In conclusion, Shania Twain is my
favorite singer. This paper described Shania

Cerberous was feeling mischievous. Cerberous is going on a quest to get a new chew toy. He
is trying to find a friend to come with him on the quest.
Then he got the new chew toy but the monster took it. His mentor is his mom. His Allies
and Companions are his Dad and Sister.
His tool is a bacon sword. He had his sword with him as he crossed into the woods where
the monster lived. The woods brought him to the castle. His Threshold Guardian was the
monster. His first test was to try to not eating the bacon sword.
He is on a different journey and his brother is after him. He also had to battle another
enemy what was a dragon. Then a big thing of water came and swallowed the dragon.
However, then the brother and almost swallowed the brother. But the brother got away.
Finally, Cerberous sliced his brother with his bacon sword. Then he ate the bacon sword; it
was delicious.

This story tells of a man named Kallen. He was a middle aged man who took care of his village. It
was his job to bring food back to his town from his hunts. He was skilled with a bow as an eagle is skilled
with its talons. On a day of peace and rest when Kallen was walking through the village, he noticed
something was wrong when he checked the food pantry. They were low on meats. He knew what he
had to do, but he hadn’t hunted for six months.
Kallen grabbed his equipment and left the village. Walking down the path he looked back and
said, “They are counting on me. I don’t know if I’ve still got it, but I will do what I can.”
Heading further down the path it ended in front of large bushes. Kallen moved through them
and looked out. He could see fresh green fields, clear skies and tall, icy mountains. He took a deep
breath of the fresh air and said, “To climb the mountains again, I do cherish the memories!”
Walking down the field and into the forest, Kallen was thinking of what creatures he would face.
He found a clear stream and he knew where there was water, there was life. He walked down the
stream. He stopped for a moment and heard nearby footsteps. He hid in a bush, bow at ready. When he
took a look he saw a young deer sipping water from the stream.
Notching the arrow in the bow, Kallen whispered to himself, “One shot; one kill.”
In a flash the arrow hit the deer in the leg. It was in such shock, it was fleeing out of panic.
“Dang it!” Kallen shouted at the air. He knew the deer wouldn’t go far. He followed trails of fur
and dripped blood. To the top of a rocky hill he had to climb. Kallen saw the deer limping to a mound of
grass. Hiding behind a huge boulder, he notched his next arrow, readying for a second shot.
Peeking out from the giant stone, Kallen saw the deer about to bite the grass but then he heard
growling from somewhere. As the deer looked up a creature pounced on it from out of nowhere, and
started slashing at it with huge claws. Despite his deathly fear, he peered from behind the rock and took
a careful look at this creature. It had leathery wings, scales, and black smoke coming from its mouth. It
was a dragon.
Kallen thought to himself, “If I try to fight this demon, it would be like signing my own death
sentence!” In spite of that, he knew he would have to kill it, for it would attack the village.
Back in his childhood Kallen was told many stories of how the dragons of old were the cause of
great terror in the world. He was terrified of these creatures; however, he would rather die than let
these monsters threaten his family.
In a beat of a heart Kallen jumped from his hiding spot and shot the beast in the side. The
dragon responded in rage and slammed Kallen with its long black tail, but Kallen got back up. All beaten
up and bruised, he could not risk letting this devil take him down. Tasting the blood from his lips only
made him more furious! He was quick with his bow shooting at the beast. The arrows only made the
situation even more dangerous.
The dragon climbed onto a huge boulder. Kallen readied his last arrow while the creature was
getting ready to pounce. The dragon jumped. Kallen’s arrow was set. Thinking to himself, “One shot; one
kill.”
He shot the arrow through his enemy’s nasty mouth and out the back of its scaly neck. With the
gargantuan corpse laying on the ground he felt an urge. An urge to yell to the heavens! Kallen climbed
on top of the dead dragon and screamed with joy:
“It feels good to be a hunter again!!!”
The X men

One snowy night the X men were in a war. They were
running out of robots because there were so many of the
enemies…..the beasts, so the X men needed more X men.
The beasts were getting wild at the robot. The beasts got
in to the tower. The X men won the war then they all went
back to school.
Meanwhile Guggernart started destroying the
Men’s school. The x men started destroying the beasts.
It started getting crazy. The x men won. The
X men fixed the school. More X men came to help but the
school broke down again. Come on!! Oh boy.

There are many legends of unicorns, but this one is different. The unicorn nations, each with its own
element, are at war with the Black Unicorns. The Black Unicorns’ element is death. Its nemesis is the Blue
Unicorn nation, the unicorns of magic. All the Black Unicorn wizards are planning to take over Unicornia,
the legendary name of Earth, with the undead unicorns. This story is called--
Unicorn of the Undead
Once there was a Blue Unicorn named Sapphire. His brother Cobalt went to a war against the
Black Unicorns. One day Sapphire got a letter in the mail. He read the letter, which said that Cobalt had
died in battle. Sapphire decided to go on a journey to the Land of The Graves to confirm his brother’s
death. So he packed his things and traveled to find his destiny and to find out what had happened to his
brother.
On the way there, Sapphire needed to get supplies for his journey. So he went to a village full of
unicorns, who were of the earth element. After he got what he needed, he crashed into someone. He
realized it was a young orange mare. She introduced herself, “My name is Coral; what is yours,
exhausted traveler?”
“My name is Sapphire, my fair lady.”
“Where are you off to, Sapphire?”
“To The Land of The Graves.”
“Mind if I come?”
“Uhh, sure.”
So the two went to the Land of The Graves.
Meanwhile, Longbeard Darkskin, the greatest Black Unicorn wizard of all of Unicornia, saw
everything Sapphire was planning. This interfered with his plan for world domination.. So he began
preparing for an ambush on Sapphire. He hired an undead unicorn.
“I need you to distract someone for me.” ordered Longbeard.
“For how many shillings?” asked the mysterious masked unicorn.
“For ten shillings.” said Longbeard.
“Deal.”
Then Longbeard left to go to his bedroom.
“Ahh, we finally made it,” said Coral. “We finally made it to the entrance!”
After a long journey Coral and Sapphire had made it to the Graves entrance. Then they heard a
thunderous explosion. They looked over and saw a masked unicorn with food. While looking at the food,
their stomachs began to growl and they began to chase after the masked unicorn. They ran after him
until he was cornered. After the long chase, Coral and Sapphire used their magic to knock him out.
Sapphire unmasked the unicorn. He was surprised. They found out the identity of the unicorn. It was the
undead version of Cobalt.
Longbeard Darkskin had found out and awakened the undead unicorns. Sapphire and Coral saw
that more of the undead unicorns were following them. The undead kept on coming like a swarm of
bugs. They realized the undead were coming after them. Coral and Sapphire sprinted until they met
their doom. The zombie unicorns maliciously murdered them.
Meanwhile Cobalt returned to the castle. Longbeard unleashed his fury on Cobalt, causing him
to melt.
Many years passed and the unicorns died off. The undead return to the graveyards of the earth on a
perfect night. So next time you go to a graveyard at night on a blue moon,
BEWARE!!!
...there might be something watching you!!

A Snowy Day
March 10, 2014
It was a snowy day at Van Antwerp Middle School the grass was all covered in snow. It
was “pure white.” It was cold outside so I had to wear a winter jacket, gloves, snow
pants, snow boots and a hat. It turned out that school had to close early because of
the snowstorm that was coming. We got 20 inches of snow that day. I played in the
snow that day for a while until I had to go in. Then I took my snow pants off, my gloves
off, my hat off, and finally I took my winter jacket off. Then I started to get warm again
from being out in cold weather for an hour and a half. I made myself hot chocolate
with whip cream it was so good.
The next day I did not have school because it got cancelled because of how much
snow we got that day. It was a winter miracle for me because I have never seen that
much snow ever. Snow kept going all day. In Albany we got twelve inches of snow. It
keep snowing for the full day, it did not stop. There was a little bit of snow in the morning
so they had to close school early that day. It was a surprise that school was cancelled
for the rest of the day. The most fun I had that day was playing in the snow all day. I
stayed outside even when it was so cold. I still went outside to play in the snow. It was so
cool I had fun.
I told people that I was so cold but it was so fun. It was a very cold day outside. There
was nothing that was even right for me to be out there for so long. I knew that I was
going to be cold if I had stayed out for a while. Most of the group home had gone out
to play in the snow that day it was fun.
The Life of Eminem

Have you heard of Eminem? Eminem is a rapper and a
singer and he is good at it! This paper will: describe
Eminem, discuss his road to fame, and review some of
his most popular songs.
First I will describe Eminem. He was born Marshall
Bruce Mathers on October 17, 1972. His stage name is
Eminem. Eminem is a rapper and hip-hop artist. He has
short blonde hair, hazel eyes, and enjoys wearing
sweatpants. He is a father of three children.
Next I will discuss Eminem’s road to fame. His love for
rap began at age fourteen when he and his friend started
rapping. Eminem blasted the stereo and wrote lyrics
when his mom went to work. He then went to an openmike contest as ground – zero for the Detroit rap scene.
There he gained approval of the underground audience.
Eminem became famous in 1998 when Dr. Dre heard his
music on a radio station. He made his official Hollywood
acting debut with the semi-autobiographical film 8 Mile
released in November 2002.
Finally I’d like to mention some of Eminem’s famous
songs. They are “Lose Yourself,” “Stan,” “When I’m
Gone,” and “Mockingbird”. My opinion is that all of his
songs are awesome.
In conclusion, I think that Eminem is the greatest rapper
that ever lived. This paper described Eminem, discussed
his road to fame, and reviewed some of his most popular
songs. I hope you will come to enjoy Eminem and his
music as much as I do.

Once there was a guy named John. He was a very intelligent scientist who studied the world. John
didn't believe in any spirits, demons, angels, or anything. But one night after work he got home, rested,
watched TV, and was very relaxed.
Before John went to bed he noticed these dark, scary, hooded beings. John was frightened by
these beings, so he said to them, “Who are you people?”
And the hooded figures said, “We are coming soon, be prepared. We will bring anger,
destruction, and fear!!!”
Then John said, “But who are you?”
Then one of the demons said, “We are the dark, evil beasts that will destroy everything-- we are
the demons.” Then they disappeared. John was very frightened about what they said to him, so he slept
and tried to stop thinking about it.
The next morning, when John was getting ready, he still remembered what the demons had said
to him. So he went to work acting funky because of that night's encounter and one of his friends asked,
“What's wrong”?
John was quiet for a few seconds, then said, “I encountered demons last night.”
John’s friend said, “What? Are you crazy?”
John was upset that his friend didn't believe him about the demons. John said, “You may not
believe me, but I always tell the truth.”
So John’s friend said, “Well, I hope you feel better, John, and make sure you get a lot of sleep.”
Then John said, “I will”, and continued to work and study.
Before leaving work, John decided to research demonology and find out what they are and what
they do. John found lots of information on these demons and realized that a prophecy was coming upon
them. John researched the prophecy and found out what would happen. John got scared and worried; he
felt an unimaginable fear for the earth and all of the people. When John got to his house he was thinking
about the prophecy he read about and dwelled on it for days.
One night when John went to bed, he had a terribly horrific dream that was about the demons
ruling the earth. He saw burning souls, fire, anger, sadness, and destruction. Then John woke up in sweat
and total fear, his heart was racing so fast that it hurt his chest.
After a while, John called his boss and said, “I can't come in today, because I am vomiting a lot.”
John’s boss said okay.
A few hours later, dark, ominous clouds rolled in. It got cold and very dark around the world.
Everyone was looking to the skies wondering what was going on.
Then, with a very pale face, John said, “It has come!”
Everyone was very confused and scared and shouted, “The time has come!”
These people also knew about the prophecy, they were the ones who were shouting. Then
lightning came down and struck some skyscrapers in every city. After that, fire came down from the sky
and destroyed lots of towns and mountains around the world. John went to tell everybody that the
prophecy had come; he even told his friends.
After that people started hearing loud roars in the clouds and everyone around the world
screamed and ran in fear. After that moment, these hideous and scary creatures and beasts came from the
skies and from under the earth. When the demons came everyone was in total fear and terror and tried to
run from these horrific demons. However, John, for some reason, felt protected and safe from this
apocalypse.
At that point the demons started to attack people and destroy cities. These demons started to turn
the earth into hell by taking people and torturing them and making earth into a giant fire ball. The
demons were taking souls and placing these souls in torture chambers and putting souls in a sea of fire,
hotter than all the stars in the universe combined.
John thought, “This is awful! This poor earth is being destroyed by these horrific demons!”
But for some reason, John wasn't being tortured or targeted. By now the demons had taken over
the world and people were suffering in pain and screaming in agony that wouldn't stop. The screams were
deafening and scary to hear and the demons were scary as hell. During the apocalypse, John remembered
seeing a demon with the eyes of a snake, the wings of a dragon, a serpent’s tail, and the legs of a scaly
beast. John also remembered this demon having the head of an alligator.
John then saw a very bright light appear in front of him saying, “Come with me, John, and I will
take you somewhere safe and great.”
After that John disappeared and everyone else was left behind, getting tortured. During the years
while people were getting tortured, the demons were destroying everything good and beautiful, and blood
was everywhere. In the ninth year, the demons knew their time was almost up and they were angrier and
fiercer than ever.
On the last day of the reign of the demons, a loud thunder rolled in and a very beautiful bright
light appeared and spoke out saying, “All demons shall be thrown in the pits of hell and suffer for
eternity!”
After the loud shout, every demon went to hell and the people were set free. At that moment, the
earth was renewed and there was no more evil or selfishness; everything became perfect and beautiful.
John came back and was happier than ever to see the earth in great shape and everyone lived happily and
joyfully!
The Hot Day

I play on the big playground. I see the tall slide.
I see the three swings, I jump holding the two red
poles. I like to play at the playground in the
summer because it is fun. I also like to swim. I enjoy
playing with my sister, Nikica. She is seven years
old. I also like to play tag with my sister.
I can wear t-shirts and shorts when I play. I have
many t- Shirts and shorts for the summer.

Nothing’s better than playing some games,
especially when they are video games.
I remember how anxious I was to get my first DS,
I was about six years old and I had to wait six weeks in total.
Six weeks is a really long time for a six year old,
but it was well worth it after all.
The first game I got with the DS,
was none other than Mario Kart DS.
It was such a blast to drive a kart around a track to victory,
Sadly there was one thing that upset me,
and that was when the other racers attacked me.
But after awhile it didn’t bother me.
And so there you have it, that’s the story.
About the time I got my first DS,
Which, by the way, is still the best.

The Wolf Among Us
Big B, a detective in New York City, walks down a street with a thought in his head, Why does
Toad keep doing this? It’s his sixth call this week. Big B walks up to a ratty looking building. He hears a
window break and notices a broken chair on the ground next to his foot. As he walks in the building, he
looks down to see Toad (a grouchy toad man) in a trench coat and hat hiding at the bottom of the stairs.
Big B started thinking, So he isn't lying this time.
He says, “Hey, Toad! What’s the problem this time?”
Toad responds, “Big B! Good to see ya, mate. It’s been a long time. How have you been?”
Big B stands there looking impatient and says, “Toad, I'm not here for chit chat. What’s going on
here?”
“Right, straight to the chase, I see,” says Toad. “Well, it’s Woody. He’s going on a rampage and
wrecking the place!”
Big B, not looking overly concerned, says, “He does that all the time. What's really a problem, is
the fact that you don't have on any Glamour.”
“Big B, have some compassion. You know the prices have been high lately. Cut me some slack,”
says Toad.
Big B walks up the stairs to a room with a locked door. As he stands there, he wonders to
himself, “Hmm, I need to get in there if what Toad says is true.” Big B kicks the door down and walks in
to see Woody standing there. Woody gets mad and throws a punch at Big B, but it gets blocked and he’s
thrown to the floor.
“Big B, long time no see! Should have killed you when I had the chance!” Woody goes for a
punch at Big B and lands it straight between his eyes, causing him to bleed. Big B, now angry, grabs
Woody and throws him into a sink in the room, causing it to break as Woody falls to the floor. A woman
stands at the end of the room with a black eye. Big B realizes he didn’t see her before. He walks toward
the woman and realizes who she is.
“Belle, what are you doing here? And where is Beast?” he asks.
“Beast is home. Don’t tell him I was here or he would freak out.” Just as Belle says that, Woody
runs at Big B, grabs him and they both crash through a window.
Falling, Big B yells, “Woody, you don't want to do this!”
“Big B, I have wanted to beat you since that time back at Granny's,” said Woody. They both land
on Toad’s car, causing the windshield to break. Woody has been knocked out cold from the fall, but Big
B is still up and moving and ready to go home.
As Big B walks to his apartment, he notices something on the ground covered by a coat in front
of the building. As he walks closer to the coat, he notices there is blood on it. Big B lifts the coat to see a
woman’s head under it. As he looks at the head, he hears a voice. Snow White (Big B’s partner and
junior detective) is talking to him.
She says, “Big B, what are you looking at?”
He says, “Nothing. What are you doing here?”
Snow White looks at him and says, “I’m here waiting for you. The chief wants to see you.” She
stares at Big B with a judging look.
“Why does the chief want me?” he asks.
She says, “He didn’t tell me. He just said he wanted you.”
They both get a cab and drive to the office.
The chief, a skinny man, walks to the door to find Big B smoking a huff and puff. Annoyed, he
says, “Put that out.”
“Chief, would you like me to put it out or put you out?” asks Big B.
Snow White says, “Both of you cut it out now! We have a case. Right, Chief?”
“Yes, Snow, we do. But Big B is going alone and you are staying here.”
Big B interrupts the chief and says, “She might help, Chief.”
“No, she has to do something else for me,” says the chief. As Big B leaves the room, he
overhears that Snow is going to be killed at the storage building where all the evidence goes.
Big B sees Snow get into a car and it takes off. He quickly runs to a taxi. The taxi chases the car
a mile up the road before the driver of the car notices and speeds up. The taxi continues to chase the
other car until it crashes into the car. Big B gets out of the taxi and runs to get the man who is driving
the car. The man takes off and runs into an alley where Big B grabs the man. He gets mad and his claws
form. He lifts the man and throws him into a wall.
Suddenly, Big B hears a gunshot. He falls to the ground, crying. He knows what has happened.
He had loved her and his mind goes blank. All he can feel is sorrow. The pain he feels is so unbearable
that he thinks his heart will implode with despair. Alone in the alley, the only sound left is the sound of
his crying, because it means his partner is dead. THE END.

Moreaste Mron was a witch. She was 60,001 years old. She lived
in the Danger Zone. One night she went to her friend’s house to ask
her if she could borrow something for her potion. Her friend said
“Yes”. But right when she started to fly her broom felt bumpy because
it would not go up. It hit the ground. She was very frustrated she
could not leave to get potion ingredients at her friend’s house. She
had to get a new broom. First she called a man. The man was wearing a
black cape. The man said, “I will help you”. “Can you really?” asked the
witch. “Yes”, the man said. First, the man went to a farm to get a
broom. Next, he gave the witch the broomstick in the Danger Zone.
Then the witch tested the broom. The broom was just right for flying.
So, Moreaste Mron was very happy. The broom worked so now she
could go get potion things at her friend’s house.

Living a life like a guy, letting all of them hit it.
And then they say **** love, guys do it --why not?
But you forget that being a women is the most powerful thing you’ve got!
Where is the power?
It’s in your heart, your mind, your head!
But girls are confused, living lies between their legs.
But little do they know that it’s a weapon for self destruction,
If not used the right way with the proper instructions.
Girls would rather take the felon who is hot tempered with no degree
And diss the business-owning gentlemen who will offer all they need.
And yet the wonder is in the air, about where all the good man are.
Girls are choosing to be strippers instead of choosing to go to college.
But they don’t realize that’s temporary -- no one can take away your knowledge!
But that doesn’t matter to them because rappers talk about them in songs,
But they aren’t seeking you in the future because they need women who are strong.
So, lady, where do we travel from here on?
Where being a ***** is a good thing and the new right is so wrong.
Where you have to raise your daughter to know the difference between love and lust
And show them the beauty of their hearts and not the beauty of their butts.
How far can we get from being an *** because a guy doesn’t know your name,

And society has washed you up to believe the same.

The Island
One day in the middle of the ocean a cruise ship crashed into some rocks and it sank. Everyone
on the ship got on a lifeboat and another ship saw them and picked them up. All but one, that is,
because one got caught in some waves and washed up on a sandy beach. The lifeboat only had a few
people in it. There was Mike who was sixteen, his girlfriend Kate who was fifteen, Nick who was sixteen,
Sue who was thirteen, and Sam who was fourteen. They were all great friends.
They got of the boat and looked around.
Nick said, “Where the heck are we?!”
Sam said, “We’re on an island.”
Nick glared at him and said, “I know we’re on an island, man!”
Sue said, “Nick, you need to settle down.”
Nick sighed, “Sorry. I’m just worried.”
Kate said, “Mike, what are we going to do?”
“I guess we should look for big sticks and leaves to make some sort of hut.”
They all thought that was a good idea, so they went into the woods nearby and in a hour they had a
good amount of supplies to build a hut.
When they were all together, Mike told everyone to check their pockets for stuff they could use.
When they had emptied all of their pockets, they had a pocket knife, a pack of matches, a ball of string,
a mini flashlight and five Kitkat bars. Mike looked at everything and smiled. He knew they could use the
pocket knife and string to help build their hut. The matches and flashlight would come in handy also.
And they had a little bit of food. But he knew they were going to need to find more.
He nodded his head and said, “Alright. Not bad.”
“I saw some coconuts, raspberries, and blueberries in the woods.” Kate said.
Sue nodded and said, “Yeah. And I saw some fresh drinking water.”
Mike smiled. “Great. Right now, we should build our hut before it gets dark.”
They all helped out to make to make the hut, and by 4:00 pm the hut was finished. It was fairly
big. That night they made a fire and sat around it. They also had the candy bars.
Nick said, “We need meat.”
Kate asked, “What would you hunt?”
“Pigs. I saw some today. I also made some spears. Three of them.”
Mike shook his head. “We need to have a fire going all the time. We don’t have any time to go
hunting!”
“Come on, man! I won’t take all day! We need the meat!”
“I just told you no! End of discussion! So just drop it!”
“I don’t care what you say! I’m going and that’s that!” Nick said and stormed inside the
hut.
Mike said, “Don’t worry, guys. I’ll talk to him first thing tomorrow.” But when Mike and the
other three woke up they saw that Nick was already out hunting.
Mike sighed. “Let’s get the fire going now. The sooner we have smoke the better.” They went to
the top of a big hill and made a fire. By noon the others were beginning to wonder what was
taking Nick so long.
Sam asked, “Should one of us go looking for him, Mike?”
Sue said, “I don’t think that’s necessary.”
Sam asked, “Why not?”
“Look behind you.” Mike, Kate, and Sam all looked behind them and saw Nick standing right
there with a dead pig next to him. The other four stood up.
Sue saw the dead pig. “Oh my God! You actually killed a pig?!”
Nike smiled. “Yes, I did.”
Sam exclaimed, “Wow! And it’s a big one too!”
Nick laughed. “Yeah. It sure was not easy. I took me forever!”
That night they had meat from the pig.
A month later, Sam went to Nick and asked him when he’s going hunting. Nick said the next day.
Sam asked if he could go. Nick said it was fine but also told him not to tell the others. Sue overheard
them. The next day the two went hunting.
Nick said, “This is how you do it, Sam. You see a hog and you very slowly creep up on it and
when you are real close to it, you charge and kill it with your spear.”
“Cool. Let’s do it Ni… Hey, look!” They both saw a movement in a bush.
“You lift up the branches and I’ll stab it,” Nick whispered. Sam nodded and sneak over to the
bush and grabbed onto the branches. Nick got ready too. “GO!” he yelled and Sam lifted the branches
and revealed Sue, who screamed. Nick and Sam yelled, both startled.
“Stop! It’s me, guys!” Sue crawled out from under the bush and stood up.
“What the heck are you doing here, Sue?! And how did you know where we were?!” Nick
demanded.
Sue smiled. “I followed you. And I brought a spear too.”
Sam asked, “You knew we were going hunting? How?”
“I overheard the two of you yesterday. Can I come hunt with you?”
Nick sighed. “Alright, you can come. Now that you’re here.” The three went on.
Kate was taking a swim. Mike was taking a drink of water from a coconut shell when he heard a
buzzing sound. He looked up and saw a plane flying over and smiled widely.
“Yes!” He looked over at the hill and saw no smoke. “No!”
He ran up the hill and saw there was no fire. He waved his arms and yelled, “Over here! Over
here!” It was no use. The plane kept going.
Mike kicked a rock. “DARN IT! I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS! I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!” He looked around
and saw Kate swimming. He called to her to get out of the water.
“What’s wrong? Did something happen?” Kate asked as they started to walk to their hut.
“Yes. Yes, something did happen. There was a plane and there was no fire on the hill!”
“What?!”
“Why weren’t you up there?!”
“Because Nick, Sam, and Sue said that they’ll look after the fire and told me to take a break.”
“Well, they’re not up there now!” They got to the hut. Mike then saw the spears were gone.
“OH, COME ON!” he yelled.
Kate asked, “What? What is it?”
Exasperated, Mike said, “They’re all went out hunting! All Three of them!”
Kate groaned. “Oh my God, are you kidding me?!”
“I wish I was! When we find them, I’m gonna kill them!” They ran into the woods to find the
others.
Nick, Sam, and Sue climbed a hill. When they saw what was on the other side of the hill, their
jaws dropped. It was a big herd of wild hogs.
Sue asked, “What are we going to do?”
Nick said, “Sneak up, charges, stab with your spear, and kill.” The other two nodded.
All three begun to sneak up until they were very close to the herd. Sue stepped on a stick and it made a
cracking sound. All of the wild hogs looked and started to run towards the three.
“RUN!” Nick yelled. The three took off, but the pigs were catching up. “HELP! HELP!”
Meanwhile, Mike and Kate were hiking through the woods looking for the three.
Mike said, “I bet this was all Nick’s stupid idea. He’s such a stupid brat. I swear, when I find that
loser, I’m so going to kill him!”
Suddenly they heard a few cries for help. The two took off running and to their horror, they saw
Nick getting trampled by many hogs. A hog was swinging Sue around by her shirt sleeve, and Sam was
getting pushed around by a few hogs.
Kate asked, “Oh my God! You… got any… ideas?”
Mike said, “Let me think.”
Then he had an idea. “Can you make a loud pig sound?”
Kate looked at him oddly. “What?”
As the hogs attacked Nick, Sam, and Sue, a pig squealing sound came from nearby. The hogs
looked up.
“Do it again, Kate,” Mike said as he went to another spot nearby, holding a coconut. Kate
put her hand to her lips and made the sound again. The herd walked to where the sound was. Hiding
behind a tree several yards away, Mike let out a high-pitch whistle. The herd looked toward where the
whistle had come from. Mike then threw the coconut towards the beach and the herd ran after it.
Once the herd was out of sight, Mike and Kate ran to their friends. All three were on the ground.
Sam was gasping in pain as he tried to sit up. Mike knelt next to him.
“Sam, are you okay?”
Sam said, “My leg really hurts.” He had cuts on his arms and legs.
Kate went over to Sue, who was bruised and bloody. “Hey, hey. You’re okay now.”
Mike looked over at Nick and gasped at what he saw. His friend on the ground, not moving, and
covered in blood. “Nick! No!” Mike ran to Nick, hoping he was just knocked out and not dead.
“Nick!” Mike ran over to him, and with a grunt, flipped Nick’s lifeless body over. He was
shocked. “Oh no! No!”
Kate and Sue ran over. Sam crawled over, painfully. Kate gasped. Sue covered her face with her
hands. Sam muttered, “This can’t be happening.”
Mike took Nick’s pulse to find out there was no pulse. “No! No!”
They all knew Nick was dead. Kate and Sue hugged each other and sobbed. Sam turned away in
tears. Mike was in shock for a couple of seconds. Finally he began to cry. Sobbing over his friend’s
lifeless body, Mike whispered, “I’m sorry I didn’t save you, Nick.”
Later that day they had a funeral for Nick. They buried him and said some nice things about him.
Last, they put a rock next to the grave that read ‘Nick, our great friend who helped us survive our time
on this island.’
After the funeral the four went back up the hill and lit the fire. Sam had to be carried because he
couldn’t walk. A couple of hours later they had the fire going. Sue gathered up some twigs and small
sticks for the fire and tossed them on the ground next to the fire. Some landed on Sam’s hurt leg.
“Ouch!” Sam yelled.
“Ooh, sorry, Sam,” Sue said.
Sam very painfully said, “I guess it’s broken.”
“Yeah, I guess.”
Kate saw Mike sitting alone and went to him.
“Hey,” she said as she sat down next to him. “What’s bugging you?”
“I just feel so guilty, Kate.”
“About what?”
“When we were looking for the others, I said that I was going to kill Nick for letting the fire go
out. And now he’s dead and I can’t help but feel like it’s my fault.”
Firmly, Kate said, “Mike, look at me!” He looked at her. “It is not your fault. Don’t ever think
that. Heck, if it wasn’t for you, Sam and Sue would have been killed also! You’re the hero here. You
saved two out of three of your friends. So don’t ever think it’s your fault.”
Mike smiled at her and said, “Thanks, Kate.”
All of the sudden, they heard a buzzing sound from above. They saw it was helicopter! It was
circling around them!
“THEY SEE US!” Mike yelled. He and Kate ran to Sam and Sue. They all cheered with joy. The
helicopter landed on the sand and several men came out if it and went to the four.
“Are you kids okay? How long have you been here?” one of the men asked.
Mike said, “About a month.”
“Are any of you hurt?”
Sue said, “I’m pretty bruised up and we think Sam’s leg might be broken.” One of the men
checked out Sam’s leg and went to the helicopter to get a stretcher.
Another man was checking Sue and asked, “Can any of you tell us how you got here?”
Mike said, “We were on a cruise ship which sank. Everyone got on the lifeboats. Our lifeboat got
caught in the waves and wash us up here.”
Kate said, “We made a hut and we gathered nuts and berries for food.”
Sue said, “We had a fire here.”
Sam said, “We kept hoping help would get here.”
One of the men said, “We heard about the ship sinking. Let’s get you kids back home.”
They all got in the helicopter and took off. Mike told the grownups where they were from.
One of the men asked Sam, “The news said there were five kids missing. What happened to the
other one?”
Sam sighed. “Well, his name was Nick and he, Sue, and I were hunting for pigs. We came to a big
herd of them. They heard us and they charged at us. Nick didn’t make it. It was how I broke my leg and
how Sue got all bruised up.”
Suddenly the pilot said, “You’re almost home, kids! Just look outside the window!”
All four kids did and they saw they were going to land. Sue and Sam high-fived and Kate hugged
Mike. Mike smiled and said to his friends, “We made it!”
When they got off the helicopter, their families rushed over to them. Mike was reunited with his
mother, father,and brothers. Kate was reunited with her mother, father, and her six year old sister. Sue
was reunited with her mother and father. And Sam, who was still on a stretcher, was reunited with his
mother, father, his sister, and his brothers. They were all so happy to be back together again with their
families and all four knew that they now had a big story to tell their families about what had happened
to them on the island.

Rosa Parks didn’t move from the seat on
the bus. The police took her away. The
African Americans stopped riding the bus.
Rosa wanted life to be the same for
everybody. Rosa Parks made life fun
because everybody followed the same rules
on the bus.
Shaggy went to China to solve a mystery. He met a new friend
named Shecala. Shaggy and Shecala ate Chinese food. Shaggy used a
fork and Shecala used chopsticks. At first they could not find Chinese
food. He looked in the temple, but it was sold out. Next, he looked for
food in the Dragon Forest. They found a fish, but it was dead. They
found a restaurant called Flag Fox Box. They had Chinese food! They
ordered sushi. They felt happy that they finally found food.
