Welcome to the CCEHC Equine Services Directory
The Clark County Executive Horse Council (CCEHC) is made up of 70+
equestrian clubs, businesses and individuals that come together to meet,
share, educate and promote equine activities throughout Clark County and
beyond. As equestrian enthusiasts in an ever growing community, we are
dedicated to assuring the promotion of the positive image that the
equestrian community can present to all who come in contact with it.
We are working together to educate, encourage and develop novice to
expert riders in all areas around the county, while welcoming visitors from
near and far to one of the nation’s greatest equestrian friendly communities.

County, Washington. Its goal is to protect
and preserve the rights and interests
of horse owners and enthusiasts.

Ripley’s Horse Aid
A Program of the CCEHC
Ripley’s is a neglect prevention program which works in coopertion
with Animal Protection and Control of Clark County. The “voucher
program” provides short-term assistance to horse owners who are
in temporary financial distress. Services provided include hay, grain
and supplements, farrier service, teeth floats, castration, euthanasia
and carcass removal. Ripley’s also sponsors a yearly low-cost geling
clinic. Veterinary services for the gelding clinic are generously
provided by the veterinarians at Ridgefield Equine Clinic.
Adopt-A-Horse
Helping Horses in need
The CCEHC’s Adopt-A-Horse Rescue Program was created to
accommodate horses in distress and have been relinquished to
Clark County Animal Control. The program has a network of
volunteer foster homes throughout Clark County that provides
temporary shelter and care until the horse is adopted.
We operate entirely on donations, which are tax deductible. We
accept donations of cash, feed, equipment, equine service or
re-sellable tack.

Traveling Out of State?
Coggins Test:
You must have a current Coggins Test (negative for Equine Infectious Anemia) to
travel out of Washington State except for travel to Idaho or Oregon. Currently,
Alaska will only accept a negative Coggins test if it was run within the past 60 days,
and Arkansas, Nevada, and New Hampshire will only accept a negative Coggins
test from six months prior to travel days.
Brand Inspection:
You must have a current brand inspection even if your horse does not have a brand
to travel out of Washington State. Brand Inspection options include 1) One-way,
the horse will not return. 2) Annual. And 3) Lifetime. This will be good for the
lifetime of your horse as long as the horse is owned by the person whose name is
on the card.
Heath Certification:
Every horse leaving the state of Washington needs a health certificate. States that
allow 6-month health certificates are Oregon, Idaho, California, Washington.
Montana also allows for 6-month health certificates, but it does require additional
fees and registration. All other states have a 30-day health certificate in which the
horse should be examined and travel within the 30-day time period or another
health

International Health Certification and Travel to Hawaii:
This process can take up to several weeks. Please call your regular veterinarian’s
office to inquire about details of exporting a horse to another country or to Hawaii.
General Hauling Gross Weight Licenses are Not Issued
to Trailers:
Gross weight is issued only to the towing unit. The vehicle towing the trailer must
have: Sufficient gross weight to cover its own scale weight plus the maximum load
the trailer(s) will carry. Look at your registration for the GWT amount, subtract the
truck scale weight, trailer weight, and the weight of load (horse plus a little extra for
other items.) For more information, contact the Dept. of Licensing, Clark County
Auditor’s Office.

April 26 National Help A Horse Day
This holiday was created to raise awareness through public education
about the plight of horses in America: abuse, neglect, homelessness
and slaughter. Please take a moment on April 26 to think about ways
you can help. As a part of CCEHC’s mission, we are dedicated to helping
horses. Our fund-raising activities listed below allow us to help horses,
not just on April 26, but year round. Please help us—help horses.

Bonneville Dam – Forest Service
Hwy 14 to Bonneville Dam. Park at rest stop on left (north). Trail starts on NW
corner near the restrooms. 1 ½ - 2 miles up trail joins the Pacific Crest Trail.
Moderate to difficult. Shoes required (rocky).

I-5 to Woodland exit East on 503 29 miles to Forest Rd. 81. Left uphill 8 – 9 miles.

Salmon Creek – Greenway
West of Klineline Pond to Felida Bridge. Equestrian/Multi-user trail easy but very
busy with bikes, inline skates, walkers, etc. Asphalt and gravel, shoes recommended.
Whipple Creek - (Undeveloped County Park)
From 1-5 West on NW 179 St.Left (or South) on NW 21 Ave.
At road's end turn right into gravel parking area. Multi-user trails (approx. 5-6 miles)
moderate. Shoes recommended.
Washougal Dike - 32nd and Index, Washougal, WA (Horse Trailer parking West end of Index) Hiker/Bicycles/Multi-User trails (approx 5-6 miles). Easy. Dogs
on leash only. No shoes required
