[email protected]
www.bills-website.co.uk
Open: Monday to Saturday 8am to 11pm,
Sunday 9am to 10.30pm.
We opened the first Bill’s in 2001 in a small town called
Lewes. None of us could have imagined how successful it
would become. We won some awards, including the Observer
Food Monthly Best Newcomer in 2006, so more people got
to hear about us, and before we could blink, our relatively
small place in a relatively small town near the south coast
became a bit of a sensation. And now there’s a few more of
us including our beauty in the Old Town Hall here in Horsham.
What had started as some ideas and a lot of hard work,
has become a real, live and kicking, rustle and bustle place
for people to meet for coffee, lunch or tea. We fill shelves
from floor to ceiling with Bill’s jams and chutneys, cook and
serve deliciously different food, hang skeins of raffia from
the ceiling and hire lively, enthusiastic staff to look after our
customers. We want Bill’s to be somewhere that celebrates
food. We want new customers to stop in their tracks to take
everything in as they come through the door. And we want
regulars to feel like it’s the next best thing to home.
A free bottle of house red or white wine throughout
September 2016. (One bottle between two people when
both ordering a meal). Just show the Festival Guide
to your waiter in Bill’s anytime between Sunday and
Thursday and we’ll do the rest.

FOOD AND DRINK EVENTS
This year’s event coincides with the 99th birthday of
Dame Vera Lyn and visitors can enjoy over 70 stalls
covering food, drink, gifts, fashion, homewares and kids’
collections and every penny raised will be split between
the two charities. The Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity
is a small local charity that relies entirely on voluntary
contributions to provide vital services to children under 5
with cerebral palsy. The other charity to benefit is Cancer
Research UK, this year raising money for
research into breast cancer. Every day more than 140
women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK,
which makes it the most common type of cancer in
the UK. Thanks to research, more than two thirds of
women now survive the disease for 20 years or more.
The charity’s work underpins today’s treatments and has
helped save many thousands of lives. Get Christmas
shopping off to a flying start with exclusive items for
visitors to buy!

In 2011 there was a risk that the Adur Valley would lose its
local brewery, so a group of concerned enthusiasts formed a
co-operative and bought the assets including the name and
recipes, and today we continue to brew traditionally and have
been awarded CAMRA’s’ real ale in a bottle’ accreditation.
We are very proud of our co-operative which is a democratic
institution run by the members and managed by an elected
committee. We can provide firkins (72 pints) and pins (36
pints) for wedding receptions, birthday parties, barbecues and
other events. Please contact us directly for more details. Our
beer is often available on-draught at pubs and beer festivals
around Sussex. Within the area, our bottled beers can be
purchased from The Sussex Produce Company, Steyning;
Nisa Convenience Store, Upper Beeding; Wiston Granary,

We have been in business for 15 years, having noticed that
most pre-marinated olives seemed to all taste the same.
We set out to produce a freshly marinated olive, using
our own grown herbs and chillies, therefore producing a
fresher taste. Our products have been described as the best
tasting olives by many of our customers (mail orders go to
the USA and Australia). But it is in the Farmers’ Markets of
Shoreham, Chichester, Midhurst, Petworth and Steyning as
well as Singleton events, where we excel. We use mainly
pitted olives, so that the flavours penetrate the olive. We
also sell pickled chillies, pickled garlic, sundried tomatoes,

Breakfast/Lunch/Pizza
for KNOW DEMENTIA
From 3rd September until 2nd October, we will be holding a
series of breakfasts, lunches & special pizzas, hosted by various
eateries in our area(see events calendar for specific dates). Every year we support a Festival Charity, and this year it is to be
Know Dementia, who area local charity based between Steyning
and Henfield. They help families with advice and support when
someone has had a diagnosis of dementia. They offer local
events that include CAFÉs, music, singing, gardening and sport,
with plenty of laughter and fun. These create opportunities to
meet others in the same position, at the same time as helping to
maintain relationships. All events are called “Moments” as they
aim to create these special “Moments” that families can share and
remember. They are proud to be part of the Festival and hope to
see you at some of the Breakfast/Lunch/Pizza events, plus our
Charity Dinner “Moving Magical Moments”, all supported by the
fabulous chefs and restaurants in the area.
With your help we hope, that by the end of the 4 weeks, we will
have raised a generous total for our worthy charity. So, please
bring as many family & friends as you can. As well as their normal
menu choices, some eateries will feature a special Festival Charity
dish within their Breakfast/Lunch/Pizza menu which, if chosen,
they will donate £1 to Know Dementia. If, at the end of your hearty
meal, you feel you would like to make an additional donation,
please feel free to do so.
