mapaca 2004 - Mary`s Alpaca
MAPACA 2004 We were ready to pack. Then we were ready to travel. Then we were ready to set up…then ready to show, and that’s when the waiting began. It’s been one month since this event, and only two things really stick out in my memory. We won 6 blue ribbons and we waited between each and every class, nervous not to miss our turn. The year 2004 was another banner year for Mary's Alpaca; we went in and out in "a blaze of glory." A picture being worth a thousand words I've decided to go with the flow and highlight our band of warrior alpacas in pixels. 3rd Mary’s Tai Rose 1st Justinian...Yearling Male Halter 1st CocoPari...Yearling Female Halter 1st Principe Dorato...Juv.Md.Fawn Male 1st Magnum...Older Male Fawn Halter 1st Anushka...Female Composite 4th Eagle...Yearling White Halter 1st Caligula...GET OF SIRE 2ndt BREEDER’S BEST THREE 2nd Caligula’s Accoyo Spirit...Juv.Male composite White ..RG Halter Notes: Caligula’s Accoyo Anushka has the world’s longest neck and is by far the most loving, smootcher alpaca I’ve ever seen. If you’re a guy having problems with female companionship, you may consider dating her. MAGNUM is a two year old breeding male…and he’s stunning. I hung a bag of his fiber on his pen to save him the stress of being handled. EAGLE is so dense he was not a happy trooper and preferred to nap and stretch his front legs out straight enabling his belly more contact with the cooler sod. JUSTINIAN’S fleece has a vibrant silvery sheen which everyone comments on…but only after they comment on his strange “brolike” walk. Coco Pari is a big fan hog and wore a sign on her that read “will move ONLY for food!” And she meant it to the dismay of little Principe Dorato who tried his hardest not to step on her while attempting to get any part of his body nearer to the breezes. Without numerous fans in the pens, I’d quit.
