The Edelbrock Family
Foundation
The Edelbrock Family Foundation
Mission Statement
The Edelbrock Family Foundation was formed with the
purpose of bringing together like-minded organizations that
share a passion for educating America’s youth in a unique
and useful way. Fostering a new generation of aftermarket
industry leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, enthusiasts
and more.
The Family…The Legacy Over the last 75 years, Edelbrock has proven itself as a leader
and pioneer within the automotive aftermarket industry. From the
day Vic Edelbrock Sr. went over 121 miles per hour, 3 weeks
before Pearl Harbor; to the Sprint Cup Series cars that race every
Sunday with Edelbrock manifolds, Edelbrock has a legacy of
going fast. From the hand tools that Vic Sr. used, to the state-ofthe-art machines used in production today, Edelbrock continues
it’s tradition of making the highest quality aftermarket parts right
here in the United States.
3 The Family…The Legacy More importantly, over those 75 years, Edelbrock has remained a
company that values and focuses on the importance of family. In
1962, Vic Edelbrock Jr. unexpectedly found himself in the driver’s
seat of the company, taking over where his father left off. Quickly,
“Junior” grabbed the wheel and continued his father’s vision of
innovation in the automotive aftermarket industry. When Vic Jr.
took the helm back in 1962, Edelbrock had an average annual
sales total of $450,000. Over the past 50 years, Vic Jr. has
transformed the company into multi-million dollar industry leader.
4 About The Founder
Christi Edelbrock was born into a family that many consider an automotive dynasty. Christi’s
grandfather, Vic Edelbrock Sr., founded Edelbrock Performance in 1938 with the purpose of
making anything with four wheels and an engine go fast. Over time, Christi’s father, Vic Jr.,
got behind the wheel of the family company and things really took off. Under his guidance,
Vic Jr. has been able to create a multimillion dollar company that is considered an industry
leader in performance and quality.
Growing up, Christi always had an affinity towards cars, however, it was horse riding that
really excited her. Christi participated in competitive horse jumping all across the country and
even participated on the Olympic level. After a successful career in the horse business,
Christi switched gears to a different form of horse power, back to her roots at the family
business, Edelbrock. From foundry operations to supply chain, to business development,
she has been involved in all aspects of the business.
With an eye on the future, Christi has embraced the importance of educating today’s youth
and is becoming a catalyst for change in the industry. By partnering with a variety of
organizations including universities, cultural institutions, high schools, specialty learning
institutions and after school programs, Christi has created a coalition that is dedicating to
fostering an innovative environment for students to learn and develop.

Edelbrock has teamed up with Ohio Technical College to launch the Edelbrock
Performance Academy, a program designed to give students a solid foundation in
the building and tuning of high performance Edelbrock products.
The Edelbrock Performance Academy at OTC provides students with the skills
necessary to efficiently produce a vehicle through planning, installation and
modification of the engine, suspension system, braking system and drivetrain.
The 12-week, 300-hour course consists of nine different training modules covering
intake manifolds and carburetor design, cams and lifters, cylinder heads, computer
tuning, fuel injection, forced induction, nitrous oxide, data acquisition systems as
well as the history of Edelbrock and the Specialty Equipment Market Association
(SEMA).
Campus Cruisers is a national college, university, trade
school student association that ties students of all majors to
career paths in the automotive and motorsport industries. I
am currently a member of the board of advisors and mentor
college students that are interested in a career in the
aftermarket industry.
The Automotive Education Alliance (AEA) Model
The AEA model is a series of programs that incorporates an industry vision for growth and sustainability and to
work as a logical transfer mechanism improving the future of the automotive and motorsports industry. This is
accomplished through the following models:
•
To develop a qualified, well-educated pool of new talent moving into the industry.
•
To provide an ongoing education training base for existing industry business owners, management, and
employees with certified programs in management, marketing, operations management, and finance.
•
To provide a central networking conduit for students and industry through the AEA's Campus Cruisers
Association program.
Business within the automotive and motorsports
world is ultra competitive and requires advanced
education and skill sets. Perhaps you'll agree that
there are certain business disconnects and business
models that are challenged in today's economy
ranging from management, marketing and strategic
planning.
The Cal State automotive and motorsports academic
team, which includes seasoned veterans within the
industry. recognize the issues and have developed a
series of short term and doable learning programs
available online nationwide. This is a SEMA endorsed
program.
The AEA learning model is the doable fix to the
business disconnects confronting personal, and
company growth and sustainability. The AEA has considered the following and developed appropriate
learning models at California State University San Bernardino:
• The AEA answers the learning and growth needs of the industry
nationwide.
• The AEA recognizes the disconnects confronting students and
industry.
• The AEA provides various learning labs that are industry specific.
• The AEA works aside industry and acts as a learning conduit.
• The AEA aids in solving a students entry into the industry.
The AEA is education driven.
The following issues are examples of what the AEA addresses:
Issue 1:
Frequently 2-year and 4-year students accomplish the rigor of
traditional classroom environments without experiencing real
world experiential and tactile learning.
Issue 2:
Students frequently lack the specialized skill sets and rigor to be
employer job qualified.
Issue 3:
Likely an aftermarket or motorsports potential employer is remiss
in establishing the connection with the student.
Issue 4:
The industry business owner/manager is seeking advancement of
their personal business skill sets and the ability to improve their
business model
Edelbrock is proud to be a sponsor and host the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow
Engine Challenge annually at the Rev'ved Up 4 Kids Charity Car Show and has
been involved since its inception.
Over 100 teams from across the nation compete with each other to see who
can disassemble and reassemble a small block Chevy engine in the fastest
amount of time with the least amount of errors.
The program gives students the opportunity to showcase their talents and
knowledge and helps build teamwork, enthusiasm, ingenuity and a commitment
to excellence.
3 key educational partners, Ohio Technical College, University of Northwestern
Ohio, and School of Automotive Machinists have teamed up to provide over 3.5
million dollars in scholarships for this ground breaking program.
Patriot Outreach
Christi Edelbrock National Spokeslady
Patriot Outreach is made possible by a dedicated group of professionals and other
individuals who share a common concern for the health and well being of the brave men
and women who selflessly devote their lives to the defense of liberty and our nation. Patriot
Outreach provides simple, effective, non-intrusive support to work to bridge the gap between
those who seek help and the silent majority who avoid the stigma. They also assist in
distributing important news, updates and government reports affecting the health well being
of the nation’s warriors and patriots.
Mission
First - To provide private and confidential access to simple and effective resources to those
troubled or suffering as a result of stressful or traumatic experiences while in the service of
our nation.
Second - To provide a forum whereby concerned and experienced professionals can share
their expertise and experience. To promote better understanding of the needs of our Noble
Warriors among our Military, Health Professionals and Government Leadership. By doing so
we hope to improve mission readiness and to provide hope to the guardians of our nation. NASCAR Performance has joined our coalition in
supporting kids initiatives on both the local and
national level. It is through partnerships like this
that the awareness for our cause can spread
rapidly.
The Henry Ford has created one-of-a-kind,
innovative, and paradigm-shifting curriculums
covering the topics of Science and Technology,
Transportation in America and American
Innovation. They offer interactive web-based
curriculum that allows students to learn in an out of
the box manner.
A Word From The Founder
The vision for the future, the time is now!
Creating, engaging and stimulating the next generation of automotive enthusiasts
is my passion. Having grown up in the aftermarket industry I have a unique vision
of the past, present and the future. My path in the education process in this
industry has been hard-earned, complex and challenging. Being a woman in a
male dominated industry is not the only challenge.
These days, young individuals need to be exposed to opportunity, all kinds of
opportunity. Within the automotive segment, students mostly hear from the major
manufacturers, not the aftermarket. The aftermarket industry is a giant learning
lab, an industry of opportunity, with passion for the future and career paths
forward.
Join me and my partners to be a catalyst for change and provide miles of
opportunities for young individuals. We have miles to go and roads to conquer,
please be part of my team helping change lives, supercharging America’s youth!
