ALOS-TTL System Set Up - DRE Medical Equipment
VideoFX VIDEO HEADLIGHT SYSTEM
SET UP GUIDE
The VideoFX Camera Control Unit (CCU) is mounted to a Mounting Bracket when delivered
with a DRE model Xenon Light Source. To mount the Bracket to the source, simply hook
the front lip of the CCU Bracket (A) around the front cover of the light source.
To keep the connecting wires neat, feed them through the Bracket Handle (C) before
plugging into the CCU.
To provide power to the system, plug the Transformer (D) into the wall and attach the connecting
end to the “DC IN 12V” port on the back of the CCU.
The VideoFX Camera Control Unit (CCU) can be connected to your viewing or recording device
in one of several ways:
The S-VHS Cable (J) can be connected to the “S-VIDEO” port on the CCU to allow access to any
recording or viewing device that accepts such a cable. This is also the cable used on many PC Video
securely over the back cover of the light source. To remove the Bracket, grab the Bracket Handle
(C) and pull out and up to disengage it from the light source cover.
around the connecting “pins”. There is a slot in this protective ring that aligns with a bar within the
input marked “CAMERA” on the front of the CCU. Align this slot with the bar on the top of this
receptacle and gently push the Cable End (E) into the “CAMERA” receptacle. Once in position,
rotate the threaded outer ring of the Cable End (E) around the “CAMERA” receptacle to secure this
connection. DO NOT TURN THE CAMERA ON UNTIL THIS CONNECTION IS SECURELY MADE.
DC IN 12V
The S-VHS Cable (J) also connects to an S-VHS to USB Converter to allow the unit to be viewed
on a device that will only accept USB inputs (additional software may be required).
The Composite Cable (K) can be connected to the “VIDEO” output and used with any device that
accepts a Composite or “RCA” style connection such as a standard VCR or Television monitor.
Operating the VideoFX:
The VideoFX Camera and the Recording/Viewing devices have been connected to the CCU, plug
the headlight into the Light Source and turn the light source, camera and recording/viewing
device to their respective “ON” positions.
Once you have an image in view, set the “ACG” switch on the CCU in the “ON” position. Place
White Balance, set the WHITE BALANCE Switch to the “SET” position and place a white piece of
screen. Press and hold the “WB SET” button (H) and watch the screen. The word “SET” will appear
on the screen when a White Balance has been achieved.
If Focus is an issue, you may adjust the lens on the camera by rotating it in or out slightly. The
lens is the outermost piece of the camera body that protrudes from the headlight optic. Once this
is set at the users preferred distance, it should not have to be re-adjusted.
DO NOT DISCONNECT THE CAMERA UNTIL THE CCU POWER HAS BEEN TURNED OFF.
