What’s New in CALCMENU version 17.0?
European Food Law, Allergens in CALCMENU version 17.0
The EU Law is targeted to be implemented on December 2014. CALCMENU prepares foodservice
industries by updating various modules in compliance to the food law.
1. Allergen for EU Law
 CALCMENU has an existing Allergen module. But with the new version, users can activate
only the allergens that are used for EU Food Law 1169/2011
2. Allergens in Merchandise
 When the option for EU law is selected, the Pseudo-Allergen tab will not be shown
anymore.

3. Allergens in Recipes
 The allergens automatically assigned to recipes from the ingredients can now be viewed in
the Modify Recipe pop up window.
4. Allergen filter in Merchandise and Recipe Lists
 Users can now filter on items with assigned allergens

5. Composition in recipes
 The suggested composition based on the EU Law is automatically generated for the recipe.
The allergens are displayed in bold font.
 Users can copy the suggested composition then update it, before finally validating the
composition.

6. Allergen and Composition in printouts
 The Recipe’s Composition and Allergens can now be included in reports in compliance to the
European food law.
7. Sales items linked to recipes and menus
 The Recipe and Menu Lists have been updated to display an icon for the ones that are linked
to sales items
