Meet the Tiger Coaches and Staff
Head Baseball Coach
Tom Collins
Coach Collins is the inaugural head baseball coach at Stony Point High School. This is
his 14th season in that position with the 2013 campaign. As head coach, his teams
have captured 4 Bi-District titles and battled their way to an overall record of 222-171
since the school opened. The 2011 campaign, the Tigers won their first 16-5A district
championship in the school's history. Stony Point is the sixth coaching stop of Collins’
24-year career. Round Rock Westwood, Austin Lanier, Tyler John Tyler, Georgetown,
and Orangefield are the previous high schools at which Coach Collins served. Add to
that list of high schools Southwestern University and Baylor University where Coach
Collins spent one year each student coaching. Stony Point is the third head coaching
position Collins has held.
Professional highlights for Coach Collins would have to include being named Co-Coach of the year on the 1990 AllGreater Houston team after leading his state semi-finalist Orangefield Bobcat team to a 23-6 record. At Orangefield,
