Established in 2002, IIK is a non-profit organization with over 4700 members.
The organization mainly includes Indians living in Korea and Koreans who are
interested in India or Indian community. This group primarily composed of
engineering professionals, business persons, research fellows, students and
housewives. IIK upholds India’s umbrella of Unity in Diversity and intends to
make Indians feel at home and interact freely in Korea. Regardless of religion,
region, culture and language, doors of IIK are open for every Indian. With the
help of our lively discussion in group, meetings, get together parties, sociocultural activities and the best helping hands by each of the members in the
group, IIK wishes to provide every individual an open communication platform
to share experiences, social knowledge and simultaneously a feeling of
togetherness.
We are proud to be Indian ever since the significance of being an Indian is
known to every individual. We, in Korea, are for work, education, name and
fame of our country as well as our own. Any differentiation, disintegration
towards the great India must be kept at bay. Keeping in mind to raise our
country's name and fame as well as our own, we should help each other and
make our stay more comfortable in Korea.

Jaraseom Winter Festival
February 1, 2015
The best of Korea’s winter festivals are seen once the rivers freeze and the snow covers the mountains. After IIK Diwali 2015 event,
IIK organized a IIK Winter Festival 2015- "Jarasom shingshing Winter Festival (자라섬 씽씽겨울축제)" for Indian diaspora to enjoy
the winter in Korea on February 1, 2015. It is the largest winter festival in metropolitan area, the Jaraseom Singsing Winter Festival
is held around early January to early February every year.
More than 40 guests from different parts of Korea joined this event. Staying safe on the snow is so important – things can go
wrong in an instant, so it was vital that anyone who ventures out into the snow and ice is prepared for emergency so IIK has
provided safety tips for the participants. It was great to see such a huge turnout – an indication that people genuinely are
interested in playing it safe on the frozen river and snow. Participants enjoyed Ice fishing for trout, snow bumper, snow sledding,
ice sledding, ATV bike riding etc. fun filled activities with their families. Snow sculptures, ice trees with ice flowers, icicle fall, and
igloo café are one of the main attractions installed around the ice square. Journey from Seoul to winter festival venue was enjoyed
by the participants with exciting activities like antakshari, singing, games (housie presented by Mr. Dwarka) and ended in an
excellent day.

Dandiya is traditional folk dance of Western India, specially performed during Navaratri festival in October. Among the

Examining the underlying logic of the
strategic and economic partnership
between the Republic of Korea and
India, this book is the first detailed
study of the numerous facets —
cultural,
economic,
people-topeople, and strategic — of
blossoming relations between two
major Asian democracies.
This comprehensive survey documents the interaction between the two
governments, relying on facts and hitherto unpublished original records
provided by India's Ministry of External Affairs; offers an illuminating account
of India's active role as a neutral party in the post-Second World War events
of the Korean War and the division of the Korean Peninsula; and provides a
vision of the future direction of India–Korea relations. The author also shares
candid observations of Korean society and its people during his service as
Ambassador of India in Seoul.
The work will be useful to policy makers as well as students of politics and
international relations, strategic studies, economics, and contemporary world
history.
