Team will be providing information and
tips on ways to prevent and address this
serious health concern.

pertinent health information.

EO E EMALANI I ALAKAI
IN COMMEMORATION OF QUEEN EMMA
SAT, OCT. 8 • 9 AM-4 PM • KŌKE‘E STATE PARK
KANALOAHULUHULU MEADOW AT MILE MARKER 15
ON KŌKE‘E ROAD
Since 1988, Hui o Laka/Kōke‘e Museum
has hosted “Eō e Emalani i Alaka‘i” to
commemorate an historic event honoring
Queen Emma’s visit to Kōke‘e and Alaka‘i
Swamp in 1871. Each year people are
chosen to represent Queen Emma, her
guide Kaluahi, and attendants. Invited hālau
from around the state and Japan honor the
queen with dances and chants honoring
Kaleleonalani – Traveler of the Mountains.
The event starts at 9 AM along with exhibits,
crafts and snack sales in the Kanaloahuluhulu
Meadow. After the Queen’s party ride
into the Meadow at 11 AM, a dozen hālau
perform dances and chants honoring Queen
Emma. It is important to understand the
performances are gifts to the Queen and
not to the audience. There is no admission
although donations are accepted at the
Kōke‘e Museum. Parking is extremely
limited with carpooling strongly suggested.

The automotive braking system is the heart
of vehicle safety. Brake pads and shoes wear
as mileage increases. On the average, most
brake pads wear to marginal wear limits
within 40-50 thousand miles for the daily
driver. For extreme driving condition (steep
grades, stop and go traffic), brake pads can
wear as low as 30 thousand miles or less.
Another important part of the brake system
is brake drums & rotors. They too can wear
and warp from extreme heat temperatures
generated by excessive braking. When
performing any form of brake pad or brake
shoe replacement, it is recommended to
have the drums and rotors resurfaced while
installing new pads or shoes.
For the month of September and October,
stop by Mana Motors to perform a brake
service pad and or shoe replacement and
we can resurface your brake rotors/drums
at ½ off from standard resurfacing fees.
If you purchase any set of brake shoes or
brake pads through Mana Motors, receive a
10% discount on any brand of brake pads or
shoes or any brake related products
