A Moment with

Greetings to all at Ararat Shrine,
hat a great time it has been around Ararat Shine and the jurisdiction. I want
to start of this month saying a great big heart felt THANK YOU to the Warsaw shrine club. Not only were they very gracious host for the Jubilee Days
and the day of the parade. They hosted on fantastic ceremonial!!!!! Congratulation to
Bill Yardley for being name class honoree. Bill, thank you for all your hard work and
continued dedication over the years. I would also like to take just a quick minute to let
you all know that Warsaw has some fine cooks in their mist and those of us who were
in Warsaw sure had some great food.
We had Mac McWilliams in Warsaw with his band, what great music and party.
Congratulation to Mac for being name Shriner of the Month by Shriner’s International. Mac not only is you a great Shriner, you are a great person all around and it is
an honor for me to be a member at Ararat alongside you. THANK You for allowing
me that privilege!
I would like to thank the clubs that have hosted the Divan outings thus far. I
would also like to thank the other clubs that visited the hosting clubs during our outing. As I have stated before Illustrious Sir Wayne started doing this last year and I
was pleased to continue the outings and enjoying the fellowship and friendship that
is so rewarding when we have these meeting. Wayne thank you for your foresight in
starting these outing.

If you Nobles and ladies have paid attention to our patio you have noticed
that the shed has been moved and construction is under way for our improved
patio. Thank you Dave Bennifield and Dave Johnson for giving up your Sunday morning and supplying all the equipment need to move the shed. Thanks
to the Divan members that help as well. Keep an eye on the patio great things
are still to come. We will get more use out of our finer assets.
Please remember that we will not have a stated Temple meeting in July as
to allow the officers of your shrine center to attend Imperial Session.
Last but not least please being thinking about the fall Ceremonial now
is the time to be getting your candidates ready to join you in what I truly
believe is the greatest fraternity supporting what we all know is the world’s
greatest philanthropy! The best way to succeed in this support is MEMBERSHIP, MEMBERSHIP. Allowing us to assist the children to turn “Dreams to
Reality”

Hospital Van Drivers
If you are a member of Ararat Shrine you are encouraged to call the Hospital Transportation Office (816) 923-5429 or (816) 923-1319 and become one of those men who transport our children to the St. Louis Hospital. This will be one of the most rewarding activities
you will ever experience.
We encourage every man in Ararat to become a driver. It will require you to go to your
State Driver’s License Office and obtain a copy of your driving record. As a matter of fact,
all drivers need to bring their records up to date in this manner.
A big Thank You to the Nobles who have driven the Hospital Van in the month of May!

Notes from Board of Governors
St. Louis Shriners Hospital for Children

he Hospital Staff continues to prepare for the transition to the new Hospital. Construction is
on time and everyone is excited about the new Hospital.
Elsewhere in this newspaper is an advertisement for your participation in the continuance of the Hospital Capital Program. The Hospital is offering the opportunity to purchase a brick
in the courtyard surrounding the Silent Messenger. There are a limited amount (400) available so
if you are interested as an individual or a unit or club, please purchase your brick as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please call me.
Patient referral was up a little bit for May, but we still need to be on the lookout for children
in need of our Hospital’s service. Please be vigilant and be bold to recommend a patient involvement with our fine services. If your club or unit would like to schedule a screening clinic, please
contact me or the Hospital Committee to set up a clinic. These clinics are a perfect opportunity to
get the word out about our Hospitals. These can be coordinated with your Church, school or other
fraternal organizations. Let’s get involved.
Invitations are being prepared for the 90th Anniversary Celebration. I hope that some of you
will consider participating in this gala event. There will be an open house at the Hospital with
BBQs, games, talent shows and representation of patients and ambassadors. If any unit or club
is interested in preparing food for this event at the hospital, please let me know. There will be
Moolah and Ainad units participating.
If you would be interested in contributing items for the Silent auction for the Hospital Golf
Tournament, please let me know. They are interested in items of value over $50.00. These items
will be auctioned at the Golf Tourney Banquet. I would need the items for the August Meeting
(3rd Wednesday).

he spicy red wine grapes have some really interesting flavors. Tastes of earth, smoke, leather, coffee, minerals and even spice can be found in this group. These are substantial reds,
and they have rich, opulent, fruit at their heart.
Syrah and Shiraz are the same wine, with different names depending on their home. In France,
it’s Syrah, but in Australia, it’s Shiraz. As it becomes more popular, it’s being grown in more and
more countries. The grape likes a warm climate, but Syrah is now coming from Switzerland.
In the Rhone Valley, this grape is smoky and mineralish; in Australia, it becomes softer and
richer, more leathery and blackberryish. California varieties usually are more in line with the
Australian prototype. Syrah/Shiraz ages very well, and the best ones really need some years in the
bottle to be at their best. This is not the same as the Petite Sirah sometimes found in California
and Mexico.
These are robust wines, so they pair best with rich flavorable foods, like beef, rather than
mild, delicate flavors. I’ve never tried Shiraz with barbequed foods, but I’d think it would make
a pretty good pairing.
Grenache is another heat-loving grape. Plant it where it can bake, and it will reward you with
a flavor and aroma that may remind you of freshly ground black pepper with plums and toffee. In
cooler spots, it turns out pallid and thin, and not too desirable. It’s softer in texture and tends not
to age as well as Syrah, and it’s not nearly as fashionable.

Bill’s Thoughts

A
lthough I’m living in Texas now, I still get the Shrine News. I look forward to reading about
all of the events taking place, seeing “New Blood” getting involved, Nobles who have been
a part of the Temple’s growth for many years still plugging away, and taking pride, even at
a distance, for being a member of such a Great Fraternity.
It’s somewhat disheartening to see less being written by the Clubs individually, because all of
those groups collectively make up the ONE ENGINE that drives everything. It takes Nobles who
can contribute whatever their talents might be to do their best.
Not just anyone can qualify to be the Potentate, Provost Marshal, Editor of the Shrine News,
or something they think can run smoother because of their abilities. All Nobles do have a talent
that will make a Club or Unit function better, and so “jump in and shine” your light.
When I look back and think of the Nobles who made an impact on me, these come to mind.
Paul Brewer, who was the Secretary of the Provost Club for many years (and drug a 6 foot bag
while he picked cotton as a child), Bal Rast who greeted me at my 1st Provost meeting, Leonard
Huff (who refused to get in line for a long time), Bill Lutman (who joined everything but the
French Foreign Legion), Don Cox (who somehow kept good Jewel Point counts), Joe Klos (who
will be in Temple Security forever), Dennis Lindsey (who lets his thoughts be known), Al Stewart
(who claims to be 39), Sonny Wiseman ( always had plenty of help), and many others. A great
group of Nobles who have made a mark.
I hope that Teddie Harrison is doing well. I hold him in high esteem. Also, I hope this finds
every Noble and Lady who is experiencing illness a fast recovery and God’s blessings.
Little things mean a lot, and at some point getting out of bed shouldn’t be taken for granted.
Many folks can’t. Nothing hurts worse than being out of sight and feeling out of everyone’s mind.
Stay in touch with those who, for any reason, are unable to attend meetings or possibly leave
home. Strength in numbers will apply now and down the pike, so stay strong for others who were
there at one time. Nothing can help more than a phone call or a visit. It’s fantastic medicine. There
isn’t a person on earth who can truly appreciate everyone all the time, so if you aren’t in a Club
or Unit where you feel comfortable or needed, find one that you can make a difference in. If nothing else, when you can spare
some time, walk back and
forth in front of the Temple
and smile.
I’m thinking about getting a travel trailer and buying a lake lot. Before that
happens it looks like a part
time job is needed. Probably
for the best anyway. Thanks
to the girls in the office, Noble Jim Kerns, who makes
the Shrine News keep perking, and everyone else who
can say proudly that they are
Shriners.

MEMBERSHIP MANIA!

e are kicking off a “1 in 3” campaign. We want every member to commit to bringing in at least 1 new Noble in the next 3 years. It’s that
easy. I have to believe each of you can search and deliver at least
1 man of outstanding character. Find the right man who will make a great
Shriner now and for years to come. Think about the impact we can have
on temple membership if we all commit!
This summer you’ll be enjoying parades, picnics, family reunions,
trips to the lake and everything fun. And there will never be a better
opportunity to make a new Shrine Mason. Brothers, I encourage you
to carry pocket petitions and a wonderful story about the Shrine. Share
it with every man of good character, who’s spiritual and moral conviction exemplifies the traits of a Shriner.
I know many of you joined the Shrine because a relative was a
member. This means you’re a “Legacy”. The “Legacy Program” is something you can share with your family. For many men, being a Shriner is a
family tradition. “From one generation to the next, Shriners have enjoyed a
unique brotherhood and shared in an important mission. The Shriners Legacy
Program is a way to show your pride in being a Shriner and to celebrate your part
in the special brotherhood that comes from membership. The Shriners Legacy Program is
open to any male family member* related to a Shriner, including: • Fathers • Grandfathers • Brothers • Uncles • Sons • Grandsons • Nephews • In-laws. You and your legacy will receive a special
Legacy pin. In order to receive your Legacy pin you’ll need to sign in to www.ShrinersVillage.

only, midnight class ever! Please make your Shrine experience is a bountiful one by getting involved immediately. “The bike doesn’t pedal itself”,
you must attend the stated meeting, (2nd Wednesday monthly) and get
involved in a club or unit right away. This will ensure the most positive
experience you can have!

Noble Art served in the Pacific Theater, while
Noble Joe served in the Atlantic.
Noble Klos was on a hospital ship in the
North Atlantic when the war began. At the
time, his ship was working as a submarine tender, and was painted grey. One day, the tanker
near Joe’s boat exploded from a German torpedo, and the destroyer
followed it to the bottom. Then, the U-boat
surfaced and told Joe’s
ship that they knew
he was a hospital ship
and they would not
attack that ship. But,
you had better paint
it in the appropriate
manner, white with a
green stripe, because
next time it might not
be recognized. They
repainted the ship, and
eventually they headed for the impending
invasion of Japan.
They were in the Panama Canal when Japan
was visited by a Fat
Man and a Little Boy,
who ended the war.
Noble Art Joined
the Army in 1945,
and went to the Aberdeen Ordnance Proving
Ground and then to school in Atlanta. From
there, he headed to Yokohama, and then to
Korea, where he helped to bring the Koreans
back to the real world.
Now, in 2014, both Nobles were recognized for their service to their country, and
both are continuing to serve their friends in
the Shrine. They were flown to the nation’s
capitol where they joined huge crowds from
many nations and many cultures, to honor all
of those brave and honorable men who gave
their all to make our world survive in the face
of evil. They visited many memorials; Korean War, Viet Nam War, Lincoln Memorial,
and Washington Monument. I’m sure they
saw more than that reflected on the faces of
their companions. They watched the Changing of the Guard at Arlington National Cemetery.
They came home, all of them, much more
tired than when they left. But surely not as
tired as they once had been. They came home
proud and respectful, sad but joyful. They
changed the course of history while they made
their own history. Those of us who are part
of their generation know what they feel, even
though we may not have had their experiences. Those of us who came after them would
be wise to remember them; who they were,
and what they did. We would be wise to emulate them.

June Temple Meeting Notes

C
hief Rabban Clarence Kirby called the
June, 2014, meeting to order at 7:38 pm,
June 11, 2014, in Bennett Auditorium. Ill.
Sir Maurice Camerlynck was absent because of
illness.
Oriental Guide Henry McDaniel, substituting for Chief Rabban Clarence Kirby, informed
the Captain of the Guard that the Chief Rabban
was about to open Ararat Temple for business.
That done, Captain of the Guard Bud Higginbotham informed the Outer Guard, and then reported to Noble Henry, who informed Chief Rabban
Kirby that the Temple was under a double and
trusty guard.
Continuing the policy of substitution, High
Priest & Prophet Randy Berry surveyed the
crowd and informed the Chief Rabban that our
Temple was free from jeopardy as there were
none present save members of our order. The
Chief Rabban replied ’Tis well.”
First Ceremonial Master Jeff Quibell prepared the Altar.
Chaplain Loyd Gentry remembered our
Nobles who had been visited by the Black Camel
and gave the invocation.
The Legion of Honor and the Ararat Pipes
& Drums presented the colors, to the accompaniment of the Ararat Concert Band.
The assembled Nobles, led by High Priest
& Prophet Randy, recited the Shrine Pledge of
Allegiance.
The Concert Band played the National Anthem.
The Captain of the Guard announced an
alarm at the Outer Door.
The alarm was caused by Eagle Scout Alex
Diaz, who, for his Eagle Project, had built a
bench for parents of Telemedicine patients. He
also donated $112.00, left over from donations
after all expenses for the Bench were paid.
The meeting was returned to order.
In compliance with a motion passed in February, the minutes of the May Meeting were not
read.
Recorder Mike Wheeler read one Petition
for Affiliation which was approved by secret ballot. There was one Petition for Restoration, no
Demits, and no Remissions.
Treasurer Nick Baldi gave the Treasurer’s
Report. Revenue for the General Fund was
down over last month, but we are still solvent.
Onion sales were very good, giving us a net
profit of approximately $18,000.00, based on
preliminary figures. Circus income is still looking good. The Restaurant showed a small loss
in May, but less than last year, leaving the year
looking pretty good.
An attempt was made to present 50 Year
Pins to several nobles, but only one was present. Noble Kenneth A. Nadler received his pin,
and, among other achievements, we learned that
he has sponsored thirteen kids into the Hospital
Program, and has been the Top Line Signer on
10 petitions for new nobles. It seems he joined
the Shrine as a mere child, himself. The other
nobles who were not present to receive their pins
were Wade E. Davis, William L. Duncan, William B. Franke, James K. Hall, Bobby L. Hicks,
Larian A. Johnson, Selwyn Luben, and Graham
C. Myers, Jr. Congratulations to all these Nobles
who have been a member of the Shrine for 50
years.
Crown of Honor Jewels were presented
to a bunch of Nobles that had earned their first
Jewel. Several first-time recipients did not stop
with only one, but went on to earn several more.

The Shriner of the Month, for the entire Shriners International Fraternity, was announced as our Noble Mac McWilliams! He
received a plaque from the Imperial Office
of Shriners International. He is also known
around our Oasis as “Mac Emeritus. It is absolutely impossible to name all of the things
he has done for the betterment of Ararat Shrine
and Shriners International, but he was the force
behind our Auto Swap Meets, and he organized
the Country Classics Band. He deserves our
admiration and praise!

Recorder Mike Wheeler explained the procedure and the resumes for our Nominations for
Shriner of the Month. The second nomination
for Shriner of the Month was your reporter, Steve
Dowdy. I was surprised, and humbled by this
honor, and was presented a framed certificate. I
was very pleased to be second to Mac, and I am
honored to be mentioned in the same breath.
Recorder Mike also reported that eight
Clubs and one Unit have not yet submitted their
2013 financial reports.
Treasurer Nick Baldi presented the Ararat
Temple Budget for 2015 for approval of the Nobility. Approval was given by an overwhelming
majority.
Noble Larry Schroeder and the Sandbuggies made a contribution to the 2014 Circus.
Noble Dick Newport and the Patrol presented a donation from the Corner Bar in Warsaw.
No Visitors were present.
CSSA 2014 is coming soon! Your deposit
of $210.00 is due by July 1, and the balance of
$210.00 is due by July28. In addition to the usual activities, there will be a Blues Brothers Party
at 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 28, a BBQ and
Karaoke on Friday Night, and a Pajama Party
on Saturday Night. All of these “extras” will be
in Ararat’s Hospitality Room. The Ladies Luncheon and the Golf Outing will also be on Thursday. I would not worry about boredom at this
year’s CSSA.
Marshal Jim Kerns reported that Circus
2014 is going quite well! Of course, we still
need more donations and more ad sales. In a few
weeks, we’ll be needing more Nobles to work at
the Circus, and more guests to keep those Nobles
busy. Noble Larry Teters was presented a Garment bag. He already had a Circus jacket. Then
his 2015 dues were paid! And he deserved it
all, because he has raised more than $3600.00!
Noble Duane Steele was awarded a Circus Jean
Jacket for over $1800.00 raised. Several Nobles
received awards for their efforts to raise money
for the Circus.
High Priest & Prophet Randy Berry said
that this year’s Vidalia Onion Program was “really successful!” Thanks to everyone, especially
Noble Jim Lamb and the Director’s Staff.
Oriental Guide Henry McDaniel, a new
Grandpa, spoke about Shriner’s Night at the K
on July13. We will join with other Temples for a
night of baseball, food, and fun. Wear your fez!
The Royals opponent will be the Detroit Tigers,
and the cost will be $25.00 per ticket.
1st Ceremonial Master Jeff Quibell discussed the Warsaw Ceremonial. It was certainly
different, and a lot of fun. The last Harem performance by the last Harem Unit was well worth
watching. Thanks to Noble Jerry McClary and
the Director’s Staff. Thirteen new Nobles were
created. Our next Ceremonial will be October
11, at Ararat.
Bingo Chairman Buck Johnson said that we
gave away that huge prize, and we’ve been rewarded with the worst five weeks attendance in
memory. Imitation being the most sincere form
of flattery, many other Bingo Halls have been
copying every special feature that we try. Nevertheless, the Bingo crew presented their check
to the General Fund, once again meeting their
goal! For the month of May, the players donated
$395.00.
Hospital Committee Chairman Steve
Hanchette reported that we transported eighteen
patients and family members on nine flights,
using Green Passes worth about $6600.00. We
also transported ten people on four Van trips at
an average cost of $40.33 per patient. We had no
Telemedicine appointments in May.
Membership Chairman Rod McGrath said
that we created a total of thirteen new Nobles at
the Warsaw Ceremonial. It was a lot of fun! The
number of Nobles who have not paid their dues
is now 332.
The Harry S. Truman Masonic Lodge meets
fourth Tuesday of each month, and there is a
Chance to Advance scheduled for July 26th at
Rising Sun Lodge.
Noble Mike DeGraff reported that the Potentate’s Golf Outing will be September 8, at
Longview Golf Course.
There will be no Temple meeting in July,
Warsaw Ceremonial Class Honoree Bill
Yardley thanked everyone for making the Ceremonial an event to remember.
Noble Donnie Fowler reminded us of the
Cajun Shrimp and Crawfish Boil on July12 at the
Richmond Shrine Club. Tickets are $25.00 per
person. Sponsorships are available for $100.00,
and include two tickets.

Wednesday, June 4, at the Richmond
Shrine Club along with Carroll County
Shrine Club, RaKla Shrine Club and Saline
County Shrine Club. The Richmond Shrine
Club and the Lafayette County Shrine Club
co-hosted the meal which consisted of ham,
brisket, green bean casserole, cheesy potatoes, cole slaw, bread, and an assortment of
desserts to complete the meal. President Alvin Kallenberger of the Richmond Shrine
Club welcomed the more than 80 people in
attendance as he led the meeting. Members
of the Divan that were present included Illustrious Potentate Maurice Camerlynck, Chief

Lady Joanie had circus t-shirts and sweatshirts
available for sale.
In the 50/50 drawing, Delmar Dothage won the money and donated it
back to the Richmond Shrine Club to be
used at next year’s joint meeting.

closer to our membership base. We warmly

ur June meeting was held at the Temple on Monday, June 2nd,
2014 . In the absence of our President Noble Mick Owens our
Vice President Noble Mike Aulgur conducted the meeting with
several members present. We were again honored to have our Liaison
Officer, Captain of the Guard Noble Bud Higginbotham with us. He
passed out Crown Jewel awards to those who earned them.
Noble Mike Aulgur reported that our Unit’s onion sales were very
successful and thanked Noble Woody Woodward for his efforts in getting us involved.
We paraded in Marshall, Missouri on Saturday, May 17th with 8
cars parading, and also in Warsaw, Missouri on Saturday June 7th with
10 cars. We again thank the City of Marshall for the delicious barbecue
spread and beverages served us following the parade, and also the Warsaw Shrine Club for the food and beverages severed us following the
parade.
Our dinner social was held at the Temple restaurant on Monday
June 9th with 22 members and ladies in attendance.
We were saddened to hear of the death of our Past Director Noble
Dennis Williams whose memorial service was held on Saturday, June
7th.
Our get well list includes Past Director Noble Ed Thomson who

he ladies have been busy making articles to be sent to Shrine Children’s
Hospitals in November. We are making
lounge pants and shorts, cast pants and shorts,
IV gowns, shirts, pillowcases and many other
items all for both boys and girls. Some of the
ladies are working on Raggedy Ann and Andy
dolls. Other ladies are working on quilt blocks
and others are making the quilts.
Needle Guild does not meet in July and
August but we will be together again the second Tuesday of September. We meet the second and fourth Tuesday of each month except
July, August and December from 10:00 am
until 2:00 pm in Bennett Auditorium. We will
look forward to seeing you at a meeting in September.

he Jackson County Shrine Club, Motor Escort and the Corvette Club is proud to announce they have
teamed up together to bring the Ararat Shrine one of the best parties of the year.
August 2nd, 2014 at 7:00PM all of the nobility and general public are invited to come and enjoy
Leather, Lace & Fiberglass Party. This party / FUNdraiser is going to rock Bennett Auditorium till 1:00 AM
Sunday morning.
There will be live music provided by “9 Daze Wonder” a local Kansas City Band that plays your favorite
“cover” and “One Hit Wonder” songs from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s as well as some current music.
The evening looks to be a very exciting one for sure. There’s going to be many different activities for all
to enjoy. A Silent Auction with great items to bid on. A Tattoo Artist that will be willing to Ink you up perfectly. There is also a rumor the Lace Girls will be making an appearance.
This reporter has also found out that not only is the General Admission ticket that goes for $10, but there
will be Special VIP Seating for those that want a little extra. The $30 VIP Tickets will get you into the exclusive seating area with your very own VIP bar and bartender, as well as a free drink of your choice. Speaking
drinking and bartenders, there will be a total of 4 booze slingers on hand to make sure your thirsty needs are
taken care of. Additionally there is going to be a Specialty Drink that will keep you coming back for more.

ave you ever brought back that special feeling when you held your son or your daughter when
they were babies and you knew that you would be responsible for shaping that child’s life?
Your sons or daughters would have a chance to live a normal and full life because of what you
were going to provide for them. It is and was an awesome feeling. When you talk to God, be sure and
thank him for the opportunity you have to share that feeling over and over, Mr. and Lady “Shriner.”
Our special children get a shot at “normal and full” because of “You.”
May and June have been busy months for the Sedalia Shrine Club. Our May Dinner Meeting was represented by our Potentate and the Divan, Past Potentate and his Lady, our Ambassador,
friends from Warsaw, Clinton, Warrensburg, Marshall, and Boonville, our Hospital Chairman, our
representative from the Blue Lodges and his Lady, and a good showing from our own Sedalia Shrine
Club Nobles and Ladies, and Charley and his Rose. Around 80 people in attendance. Our President
and his Lady, Kenny and Kathy Martin thank you for a handsome turnout. Don’t forget to put our
July 24th Dinner Meeting on your calendar. Our July Dinner Meeting features Don Weaver’s smoked
barbequed ribs, yum yum. Nuff said.
We have had an additional Bloody Mary Breakfast along with our regular monthly breakfast.
Kenny thanks all of our volunteers who step up and make a successful difference for all of our monthly breakfasts. $6.00 for an all you can eat breakfast is an awesome deal folks, so come out and enjoy
it and if you can lend a hand. We can always use an extra volunteer. Also, don’t forget our August 2nd
Les Webb Memorial Bloody Mary Breakfast. We need your patronage, your help in the kitchen, and
your help selling tickets. Let’s make this year a record.
Right around the corner is the Sedalia Shrine Club Fairstand at the Missouri State Fair. We
need volunteers folks as this is an essential fundraiser in keeping the Sedalia Shrine Club afloat. Our
work schedule and volunteer sign up is in the Pro Shop, so come in and signup. “WE NEED YOU!”
Our Golf Course awaits your play. Bill Hammerly has done a tremendous job in the upkeep and
keeping operating costs down this year. He thanks all the volunteers who work with him. Come out
www.araratshrine.com and enjoy the course.
Our Bar is open Tuesday-Sunday 3:00 pm till 10:00 pm. So stop in and enjoy your favorite
libation and some camaraderie on the shuffle board table, play darts, relax watching TV or enjoy the
view outdoors on our deck. Roger will always make sure you are treated right.
Our Fun Kor has performed in Marshall and Warsaw in the past two months. We would like to
thank both of the clubs for inviting us. We always enjoy parading with our brothers.

and don’t forget those who are in service to this great nation.

Ararat Childcare Room
The Childcare Room is available for Units/Clubs to rent during
their functions, giving parents/guardians the opportunity to attend
functions, while knowing their children are safe and happy for a
minimal fee of $5 per child, per event.
Units/Clubs:
There is an $80 fee for use of the room during your function. This pays for 2 childcare workers. If you provide your own workers (minimum 2
required), the fee is waived, and you are responsible for paying them directly. Contact
Barbie Johnson (816-591-1357) to reserve the room, 30 days notice is requested.
There will be a fee box located in the childcare room for the $5 per child fee, plus and
any additional donations, paid the night of your function. This money will be used for
room upkeep and supplies.
Please clean up after each use: place all bedding/linens in laundry bag, sweep
floors, wipe down surfaces with disinfectant, and pick up all trash and toys.
Parents/Guardians: Fee is $5
per child, per event - which is used to stock snacks,
drinks, activity supplies, toys, linens & cleaning
products, so we are able to provide your children
with a fun, clean, safe, comfortable environment.

Greetings and good tidings to all of our
Ladies and Nobles. We hope our article
finds you all in good spirits. Spring seems
to always bring on a renewed vigor for the
coming year . If you find yourself overwhelmed with all this renewed vigor and
spirit we have just the place to channel it.
The Sedalia Shrine Club can use your spare
time. Come in and put your talents and
energies to good use. We need you!
Our golfing public is taking off and none
to soon for all of us. Our course is a beautiful green and the guys are doing a good
job in keeping it playable. Come out and
enjoy it.
If you have a spare morning till noon, we
have a place for you in our Pro Shop. It
only involves using a cash register and
greeting our players and meeting their golfing needs. If you have no experience we’ll
show you. It’s easy and you’ll be doing
your club a large favor. Everything helps us
to be able to help our special children.
In April our membership had a wonderful evening of dance, and being entertained
by the sounds of Cedar Creek. If you
missed it, you missed out on an evening of
“Fun.” Come in and check out the bulletin
boards and calendars for upcoming events.
Have fun and be a part of your club.
Bingo is still a little slow, and the economy doesn’ t help. It’s still floating and
requires the same amount of volunteerism.
If you have time to spare on Monday
evenings from 6:00 pm till --- contact our
Bingo Chairman, Ron Bush, or if you can
help in the kitchen on Monday evenings,
contact Don Timbers or Shirley Wiley. We
would like to take this time to thank all of

The Fun-Kor is selling chances in a raffle
for a new pistol. It’s a fundraiser for the
Fun-Kor so get your tickets before May
15th. Larry Foster, Director, reminds all
Fun-Kor members that 2010 dues were due
