Back to page 1 Volume Volume 1, 5, Issue Issue 43 Page 5 PIE Showcase Desmond entered a Provincial Slopestyle and Snowboard Cross (SBX) competition this past weekend at Big White. Slopestyle is the most popular competition in snowboarding with a series of boxes, rails and jump features to hit. This is a judged event, similar to floor in gymnastics. SBX is a race with 4-6 snowboarders heading down a course with speed. The first to cross the finish line wins. The course is narrow with turns, berms, rollers, jumps, steeps and flat terrain designed to challenge the rider’s ability to stay in control while maintaining maximum speed. Desmond did best at SBX (his passion) ending up 4th overall in finals. Way to go, Desmond!
