LCC offers quality career and technical programs,
outstanding transfer courses, and diverse continuing
education opportunities in career training, practical skills
and personal enrichment.
When Lane first opened in 1964 we offered 13 technical
and vocational programs. Today there are 40, including
several with multiple options.
Our transfer program offers academic courses that provide
a solid foundation for a bachelor’s degree at a much more
affordable cost than at the four-year level.
Our Continuing Education division offers
short-term job training such as certified
nursing assistant or roadside flagger. Or you
can learn how to count change, sew, drive, or
buy a home.
Lane remains committed to a comprehensive
mission that responds to your changing needs.
Our faculty are truly outstanding. Biology instructor Stacey
Kiser, for example, was just named the Two-Year College
Teacher of the Year by the National Association of Biology
Teachers. Shirley Sieczkowski recently celebrated 20 years
of teaching sign language. These are just two examples.
More importantly, our students are successful. Olympic
decathlete medalist Tom Pappas started at Lane; performing
arts star Shirley Andress Tendick did too. Maria Sollo Diaz
earned a certificate in early childhood education even
though she spoke no English when she first arrived. Read
more student stories at lanecc.edu/mpr/success
It’s going to be an exciting year, and I look forward to
sharing it with you.
Sincerely,
Mary Spilde, President
