Class of 2015, you have achieved some very high marks and lofty
accolades this year. You’ve shown a great deal of dedication toward
your studies here at WMCTC. But I challenge you; don’t be
satisfied!! As Thomas Edison profoundly stated: “Show me a
satisfied man and I will show you a failure.”
Take your strong work ethic and erudition and let the world know
you are on a path to success. Be proud of your technical knowledge
and training and use it to open doors. Remember, acquiring your
technical skills took many hours of hard work but applying these
skills into a career path will be just as laborious, for nothing is
guaranteed.
Attendance/Student 9
Services
Stay the course and be sure to let WMCTC know about all your
success as you advance up the career ladder. It truly was my honor
to serve as your principal this year.

Metal Technology
Metal Technology recently received and installed a Haas VF1 CNC
Machining Center. This equipment will enable students to learn
CNC milling set-up, programming, and operation on an industrial
size, state-of-the-art machine.
On Monday, May 4, a group of Metal Technology students toured the Harley-Davidson
Vehicle Operations facility in York, PA. This was an intriguing opportunity for the
students to see a world class manufacturing facility that relies on the machining,
welding, and fabrication skills that they are learning in class.
Metal Technology Seniors:
Tom Niggel enlisted in the US Navy as a Hull Technician. He leaves for Basic Training in
Chicago on July 21. After Basic Training, he will attend "A" school before starting his permanent
assignment.
Cole Callow received official acceptance to the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Vocational
Scholarship Program 2015-2016! Cole's year will begin with an orientation session to be held in
Washington, DC from June 30 - July 2. After the orientation, Cole will fly to Bonn, Germany for
two months attending a language institute. After the language portion, each student's final
placement is an individual one that can be anywhere in the country based on available opportunities
that best match internships for each one. Cole's interest is in the machining and manufacturing
areas.
Best of luck seniors in your ventures!

with songs and diplomas. The 2 and 3 year old children were handed their yearly picture
portfolio, student teachers were given the assignment of observing and documenting the
children's achievements during the 2014/2015 school year.
Buckaroo Nursery school currently has openings for the 2015/2016 school year in the 2

Electrical Occupations
Throughout the year, the Electrical Occupations class at Western Montgomery Career and Technology
Center has been preparing to teach a hands-on lesson to the school’s special education class. The
Vocational Opportunities In Career and Exploration (V.O.I.C.E.) program at Western Montgomery Career
and Technology Center “was designed to integrate career education and transitional planning for students
with disabilities” (Montgomery County Intermediate Unit). The project was coordinated by V.O.I.C.E.
Instructor, Debbie Pletcher, and Electrical Occupations Instructor, Evan Ducko, to give all students
involved the opportunity to learn using new applications.
In addition to their regular assignments, Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 Electrical Occupations
students (Level 1: Luke DeLeo (PJP), Jason Paciello (PG), Joe Raimondi (SF), and Ray Ramsher (UP);
Level 2: Pete Mensick (SF), Jake Hoffman (SF); Level 3: Owen Agnew (PG), Michael Carbo (UP),
Nikolas Cortez (PG), Tyler Gordon (UP), Ezekiel Outterbridge (PG), Eric Moyer (UP), and Campbell
Pritchard (UP) spent the year developing project boards that simulate a two-tone low-voltage doorbell
system. As students in the V.O.I.C.E. program receive instruction in career development, the instructor was
excited for her students to work on a new industry project. In the lesson instructed by Level 1 students,
Level 2 senior Eric Moyer (UP) and volunteer, Jordan Ducko, were able to extend the theory and hands-on
knowledge that they have gained throughout the year to students who have no previous knowledge of lowvoltage two-tone doorbell systems while ensuring that the proper safety procedures were followed.
Both instructors were not only impressed with the lesson given by the Electrical Occupations
students, but also with students of the V.O.I.C.E. class, as they all successfully completed their project and
enjoyed doing so.
Lost and Found Items are in the Student Services Office.
Unclaimed items as of June 12 will be donated to a local charity.
Please stop by if you have lost something this school year.
