TRANSLATIONS
Giovanni Battista Pergolesi
from Stabat Mater
Stabat mater dolorosa
There stood the Mother grieving, beside the cross weeping,
while on it hung her Son.
Fac ut ardeat cor meum
Grant that my heart may burn in loving Christ my God,
so that I may be pleasing to him.
Quando corpus morietur
When my body perishes, grant that my soul be given the glory of Paradise.
Amen
Gloria
Antonio Vivaldi
Gloria in excelsis Deo.
Glory to God in the highest.
Et in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis.
And on earth peace to all those of good will.
Laudamus te, benedicimus te, adoramus te, glorificamus te.
We praise thee, we bless thee, we worship thee, we glorify thee.
Gratias tibi agimus
We thank thee
Propter magnam gloriam tuam.
For thy great glory.
Domine Deus, Rex coelestis, Deus Pater omnipotens,
Lord God, King of heaven, God the Father almighty.
Domine Fili unigenite, Jesu Christe
Lord, the only begotten Son, Jesus Christ
Domine Deus, Agnus Dei, Filius Patris.
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father.
Qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis. Suscipe deprecationem nostrum.
Thou who takest away the sins of world, have mercy on us. Hear our prayer.
Qui sedes ad dexteram patris, miserere nobis.
Thou who sittest on the right hand of the Father, have mercy upon us.
Quoniam tu solus sanctus, Tu solus Dominus. Tu solus altisimus, Jesu Christe.
For thou alone art holy, Thou alone art the Lord. Thou alone art the highest, Jesus
Christ.
Cum Sancto Spiritu in Gloria Dei Patris. Amen.
With the Holy Spirit in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

GUEST ARTISTS
James Litton
James Litton is widely regarded as one of America’s most prominent choral
conductors as well as one of the world’s leading experts on boys’ voices and the
changing voice. Following his retirement after sixteen years as Litton-Lodal
Music Director of The American Boychoir, he served as choirmaster at Washington National Cathedral and was a visiting professor and college cantor at St.
Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. He remains in great demand as a clinician and guest conductor. In 2004, James Litton was named Music Director
Emeritus of The American Boychoir.
Sherezade Panthaki, Soprano
Praised by critics as having lyrical and brilliant coloratura “star quality,” soprano
Sherezade Panthaki performs frequently as an opera and oratorio soloist. She
has appeared in leading operatic roles with the Bloomington Early Music Festival and has been a top prize winner in numerous Young Artist competitions.
She is a finalist in the upcoming international Baroque vocal competition in
Belgium, and has been a featured soloist at the Tafelmusik Baroque Institute in
Toronto. She is a founding member of the Baroque trio Arte Bella as well as
the Medieval Renaissance quartet Gravitación, and has made critically acclaimed
recordings with both LaDonna Musicale and Gravitación. In addition to her
active performing and recording schedule, Ms. Panthaki serves as Director of
Music at First Presbyterian Church of Urbana, Illinois, and teaches on the voice
faculty at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois.
Geoffrey Dunstan Williams, ABS ’91, Countertenor
Geoffrey William hails from the American Midwest and began his musical life
as a member of The American Boychoir. Having devoted much of his life to
service in church music, he has sung with many of the finest choral organizations on the East Coast including the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.
He now serves as a Gentleman of the Choir of Men and Boys at Saint Thomas
Church in New York City. Mr. Williams performs as an early music specialist
throughout the United States, and is a resident artist and soloist with many of
New York’s finest ensembles including the Vox Vocal Ensemble, Clarion Music Society, Early Music New York, and New York Polyphony. With over
twenty commercial recordings to his credit, he happily explores the works of
Perotinus and Purcell and beyond into the postmodern repertoire.
When not making music, Mr. Williams waits patiently for his beloved Chicago
Cubs to win a World Series.
