Thank you so much for sharing with us. It is a Palm Valley Preschool tradition to donate a new book to the library on your birthday. We want to thank Wyatt Kozloff, Olivia Weibel, Topher Karcher, and Soha Taqi for donating such wonderful books to our library. We hope you have an awesome winter break. News from the Lower School: This week we heard a heartfelt character speech from Rachael Segal. Thank you Rachael. Ah, hot chocolate and Santa! What could be better? Our students love this special visit. Did Winter Sing warm your heart? Thank you for joining us in this musical invitation to the holidays! International Day presented by the First Grade students gives us all another reason to celebrate. Our students are learning how diverse our world is, and to appreciate the value in difference. There are so many kind and generous moments in the life of our school! I am grateful for your gifts of time, talents, tools, and things of beauty. Many thanks to Shannon Johnson and her family for kindly sharing gorgeous handcrafted wreaths to decorate our front office inside and outside! We all are enjoying their beauty! Thanks also to Kyle Knight and his family for sharing cookies with the Lower School faculty. Yum! Have a delightful holiday season! See you on January 5, 2015 when school resumes! News from the Middle School: It was a festive Friday in Middle School on December 12 when the Leadership Council sponsored an ugly sweater contest for all Middle School students. Though the competition was keen, three winners emerged with the title of ugliest sweater for their grade: 6th Grade: Chase Carroll Volume 2014/2015 Issue 13 Dec. 19, 2014 7th Grade: Robert Arzano 8th Grade: Jake Mulé Left: 7th Grade Arzano twins Robert and Michael pose with their “ugly” sweaters. Right: 8th Grader Jake Mulé rocks a homemade sweater In addition to the contest, students enjoyed holiday music, hot chocolate, and holiday cookies provided by the Leadership Council. Thank you not only to the students, but to their parents who baked and frosted and decorated a whole bunch of delicious cookies for the students. Winter sports teams are anxiously awaiting the New Year when their "official" season will begin. We are looking forward to some competitive basketball games for both our boys' and girls' teams this season. The entire Middle School teaching staff wants to wish our students and families the warmest of holiday wishes and success in the New Year. We are grateful to our families who entrust their children to us daily and we are grateful to our students who are hard-working and so kind and considerate of their fellow students and their teachers. Best wishes to all in the coming New Year. News from the Upper School: We are looking for parent volunteers to bring Senior Lunch in January. Contact Ms. Steinman if you’d like to sign up ([email protected]).
