Spring Has Sprung
Spring is a beautiful time of the year with new bright green grass,
flowers, and warm weather, but not everyone is always cheerful...
Be aware that this is the season of the year that many people have
trouble with depression.
Sue Revelle
Executive Director
It is hard to understand what is going on when everyone else
seems to be happy and that is just not how you are feeling. People
who have chronic depression may find this a more difficult time and
may need to engage their therapist more frequently or ask for a
temporary increase in their medication.
Some may just feel down for a couple of weeks. However, if you find that those
feelings remain, please seek counseling. Dealing with breast cancer, surgery, and
often chemotherapy changes your internal chemistry, and finding someone to talk to,
whether it be a counselor, minister, or even a good friend, may be very helpful. Feel
free to come into one of our offices and talk with us, or we can engage our mentoring
program to find someone in similar circumstance with whom you can share.

An excerpt from “After A While”
by Veronica Shoffstall:
“...and you learn
to build all your roads on today
because tomorrow’s ground is
too uncertain for plans
and futures have a way of falling down
in mid-flight.
After a while you learn
that even sunshine burns
if you get too much
so you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone
to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure
you really are strong
you really do have worth…”

Have you heard
the rumors?
We’ve heard them, too!
Just so you know,
Women Supporting
Women
will NOT be closing
the Worcester office.
We WILL however
be moving
to a location that is
more affordable,
so that we will have
more funds to put back
into our community.
Our May newsletter
will let you know where
that location will be,
but just a hint…
we will have
GREAT exposure.

Well… Hello Spring! It seems liken it’s been such a long time. I can’t wait
for the temperatures to catch up with the beauty of the new life beginning.
What can I say… life is glorious.
What a great time was had by all at the Pink Ribbon Bingo at the Salisbury
Moose Lodge. There were lots of good times, great food, and the prizes
were incredible. I would like to thank some ladies from Worcester County
that were a tremendous help by volunteering their time. Thank you so
much to Alana Feeny and Jennifer Wheeless and her daughter Christy. It
takes lots of good volunteers to help events run smoothly.
Speaking of events, both men and women
need to start looking for some comfortable
high heels to run in! (It’s only about 50
yards.) You can also take a picture wearing
your heels, download it to our site, submit it
for best looking or hairiest legs, and get your
friends and family to vote for you. Votes are
only $1.00 each, and whoever has the most
votes wins that category. There will be lots of
fun.

McWilliams’s fabulous legs at:

If you would like to help out with our High Heel Race being held June 14th
in downtown Berlin, please call the office at 410 641-2849, my cell at 410
430-4455, or you can e-mail me at [email protected].
You can also reach me at those contacts if you have ideas for events - or you
just want to chat.
Our April meeting will be the 17th and you are welcome to bring your own
lunch. Thank you to Sona Morrison for your great information during our
March meeting. Again, if there is a particular subject you would like
discussed at our meetings, please let me know so that I may have it
arranged.
Enjoy the April showers!

JOKE OF THE MONTH
A Texan farmer goes to Australia for a vacation.
There, he meets an Aussie farmer and gets talking.
The Aussie shows off his big wheat field and the
Texan says, “Oh! We have wheat fields that are at
least twice as large.”
Then they walk around the ranch a little, and the
Aussie shows off his herd of cattle. The Texan
immediately says, “We have longhorns that are at
least twice as large as your cows.”
