WELF Dalton, Georgia Report for July 2015 Local Praise the Lord WELF recorded a local Praise the Lord program with host Tom Finlayson, a pastor in the area. Pastor Finlayson's guest was country recording artist Cody McCarver, who has a new gospel album. Cody shared about his struggle with alcoholism and how those cravings were taken away after he came to Christ. Pastor Tom and Cody talked about their similar journeys to faith in Christ and how they came to know God. Pictured below: Host Tom Finlayson (right) with guest Cody McCarver. Joy in Our Town WLEF's Joy In Our Town health segment this month featured Donna McConnico from Signal Centers. This organization is a local non-profit that creates devices for disabled individuals to make their lives easier. Donna brought examples of devices that bring solutions to the daily challenges individuals with handicaps face. Pictured below Joy in Our Town host Tiki Finlayson and Donna McConnico. Another Joy in Our Town health segment this month addressed the challenges disabled individuals have and how they are being helped by the community of Orange Grove Center. This organization connects resources in three surrounding North Georgia communities to assist low income families. TBN provides leadership to the Benevolence Task Force, which partners with faith-based organizations and local businesses to meet the needs of community members who fall through the cracks for public assistance. This month’s meeting was about the newly formed Tristate Healthy Heart Coalition. TBN will be providing leadership and consulting for this campaign in the months to come. Our local TBN Praise-a-Thon continues on a bimonthly basis. This is an awesome opportunity for our viewers to partner in the ministry of WELF. We had a wonderful time this month as Pastor Steve Ball of Metropolitan Tabernacle hosted one of our Praise-aThons. Pastor Ball spoke about giving and our guest’s related testimonies of how God blessed them during particularly trying times in their lives. Pictured below: Host Dr. Steve Ball (right) with guests Hugh McClellan and Rieta Ball discussing generous giving! We are now posting video segments from Joy in Our Town and local Praise the Lord programs for our viewers on our WELF Facebook page. We are getting great feedback from our viewers and friends. TBN was represented at the Scenic City Women’s Network (SCWN) monthly luncheon. This month’s keynote speaker was Doris Woods, a missionary and Bible teacher, who shared with local business women about what a woman of faith looks like. Barbra talked about who we are in Christ and how this relates to the marketplace. SCWN offers women in business and leadership positions support, network opportunities, and mentorship with other women of faith. WELF regularly receives encouraging letters from our viewers and partners. A Joy in Our Town guest wrote: “Thank you for giving us the opportunity to come to TV-23 WELF and for allowing us to share lessons with your audience, giving them skills to stay safe and healthy. Thank you for all you do for your community every day!” Another viewer wrote: “I want to thank you for airing Lifestyle Magazine [TBN] and Dr. John McDougall [the Church Channel].... May God continue to bless your ministries! Here is the local Facebook Information for this period.
