Originally established in 1979, the 5-piece group captured the imagination of the island’s youth at the time through their active touring which eventually lead to them securing a record deal with an independent UK record label and the subsequent release of their single Dance Music for the 80’s Depression. Written by the band’s front man, Ray Mercieca, Can’t Stop the People revolves around negative feelings that stem from everyday life whilst also addressing social issues related to that negativity.
