Zaheer Tariq, NSU’s Bursar, said E-Commerce was launched on Jan. 4. It took a year to finalize because the University wanted to make sure SpartanShield was successful, Tariq said, explaining that the new payment method should decrease lines and waiting times on campus. “We’re trying to take advantage of all this technology that’s available to us,” Tariq said. However, if a student has a Spartan Payment Plan and wants to use ECommerce, they must see a cashier before doing so to make a down payment on their plan. In other news, NSU will no longer mail grades as of this semester due to rising Graphic by James Davis mailing costs. Regina Bynum, acting registrar at NSU, said some report cards come back as a result of wrong addresses, therefore, wasting paper, ink and money. Students can access their grades on Spartan Shield. But if an official report card is needed, Bynum said the school will honor that request.
