After launching a successful musical career with New England
jam-band juggernaut Rane, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist
Dan Prindle has recently penned and recorded his first solo
collection of songs. The album, Where You Land, is a
contemplative but accessible exploration of pop-rock song
forms. Dan’s varied influences can be heard throughout as
the album’s moods range from the experimental ambience
of Radiohead to the jazz-inflected funk of Steely Dan to the
straightforward pop-rock of Billy Joel. Dan’s vocal, guitar, piano,
and bass tracks on the album are backed at various times by
the members of Rane and by a band of seasoned performers
hailing from both coasts.
• Named Best Bass Player by the Hartford Advocate in
2004 and 2006.
• Performed as sideman for major label recording artists
Simon Kirke (of Free, Bad Company, and Ringo Starr’s All-Star
Band), Kurtis John (of The Last Goodnight), and Rex Fowler (of
Aztec Two-Step).
• Recorded as sideman for Frank Black (of the Pixies) and Mark
Mulcahy, whose 2005 release, In Pursuit of Your Happiness,
which features Dan on cello, was called the album of the year
by Radiohead’s Thom Yorke.
• With Rane, achieved multiple sellouts at the House of Blues
(Boston), Iron Horse Music Hall (Northampton, MA) and
Cheney Hall (Manchester, CT), won the Hartford Advocate’s
Grand Band Slam for nine consecutive years, and released
Camelopardalis which broke into Sound Scan’s Top 50 listing
for the Hartford / New Britain market and its Top 100 listing for
the Springfield market.
