Feb. 29, 1944 — Oct. 10, 2010 Daniel Gene Dellinger, 66, passed away Oct. 10, 2010, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born Feb. 29, 1944, in Hillsdale. Service and interment will be Oct. 21 in Divide, Colorado. Dan Dellinger was born in Hillsdale, MI to Carl Sinclair and Helen Geneva Dellinger. Dan passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Dan is survived by his wife, Gilda and his daughter, Danielle. Dan was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, David and Jerry. Dan graduated from Michigan State University in 1968, served in the US Army from 1968 to 1970, and received his Masters degree from the University of Colorado. He was a longtime member of the National Rifle Association and a firm believer in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. His hobbies included hiking, fishing, target shooting, and bird watching. Dan served on the Divide Planning Committee and the RE-2 School District Long Range Planning Committee. Dan loved Teller County and was well known for his "Letters to the Editor" on various topics. A graveside ceremony and interment was held Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the Divide Cemetery.
