The 50th State Archery Club is Hawaii’s only recognized
Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) program
by USA Archery (USAA). Our members train for and
participate in National Field Archery Association (NFAA)
and USAA events. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that strives to provide educational, charitable, and
social opportunities for Hawaii’s youth and community in
the practice of archery.

USA Archery Photo
Contest
The 50th State Archery Club JOAD
program won the USA Archery
Spirit Award for the 4th quarter
(2014). The contest was to create a
4th quarter holiday themed picture. Thanks to the help of all of our
dedicated parents we created a
winning Rise of the Guardians themed picture. A special thank you goes out to
Sterling Hutchison (Julia) for organizing the shoot, Charlie Cohen (Sabrina) for
our Pitch, John Maze (Nichelle) for playing Santa, and to Jessica Lanham
(Shaw) for her talents in Photoshop.

2015 Vegas Shoot (World Archery Festival)
Las Vegas, Nevada
In February, ten of our young
archers traveled to Las Vegas,
Nevada for the World Archery
Festival. For most it was the first
major tournament in which
people from all over the world
came to compete. It was a twoday 20-yard indoor shoot. As you
can see from the results below our
young archers did a fantastic job.
The club looks forward to competing again in 2016.

Lance earned his BS in
Mechanical Engineering from
the University of Hawaii, BA
in Business Administration
from the University of Hawaii
and Associates degree in
Criminology from East
Mississippi Junior College. He
is a USA Archery Level III
certified coach with a Kinesiology and sports psychology
background.
Lance has been active in
archery since 1973 and has
formed Hawaii’s current
Junior Olympic Archery
Development (JOAD) program. Lance opened an
archery pro shop in 2012
called Everything Archery in
Honolulu, Hawaii. Everything
Archery has the only indoor
range on the island of Oahu.
Coach Alexander’s Clinic
We have been fortunate to have Master Coach
Alexander Kirillov, three-time national coach
of the year, return to Hawaii to coach clinics
for our club members. Alexander’s clinics instill knowledge and skill over an intensive, yet
rewarding, four days.
