STUDENT GRADE VERIFICATION SHEETS Given the challenges that we, students, parents, and staff, are experiencing with HCPSS Connect, the Folly Quarter staff has decided to utilize individual paper and pencil Student Grade Verification Sheets for each student in each class. Starting Monday, 10/5, please review these sheets with your child when you have your weekly Canvas review date. If discrepancies are uncovered, please encourage your child to speak to his or her teacher the next school day. We apologize for this additional step but feel it is necessary to ensure that accurate and timely information about academic progress is available to you and your student; our collaborative "Trust but Verify" piece. Thank you for your patience and understanding as the HCPSS continues to work hard to improve HCPSS Connect. All the kids and adults loved the band, the dancing, but most of all appreciated the food. Food from all different countries will be prepared by our students in 8th grade. Everyone is invited to Latino Night, (please RSVP below) however we just ask that parents donate school supplies for the needy children in Bolivia. The children of Bolivia need school supplies now more than ever, so please contribute to our cause. Come to Latino Night for great food, fun, and dancing all prepared by the Folly Quarter Middle School 8th grade Spanish students. You must RSVP to attend, please RSVP here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1G3dmKXeEZtNg5qU8QtZrDYdxrfgu0D8vrsmiYekZS8/viewform?ts=56056169&edit_requested=true LOST & FOUND We have a few cell phones in the front office. If you are missing one, please bring your charger (they are dead) so you can enter the password to claim it. Also, encourage your child to check the lost and found cart outside the cafeteria for missing items. We already have quite a collection of apparel. LUNCHTIME FACTS Did you know... 35% of our students throw away at least 1/2 of their sandwich every day 50% throw away 1/2 of their lunch every day 50% of students who bring 16oz. or larger disposable bottles of water and/or other beverages only take a few sips and throw away the rest Why? The students are eager to go out to recess and have fun with their friends. Sitting quietly in class for hours at a time is hard for anyone. Fresh air and sunshine helps get out the wiggles. Solution suggestions: Communication can play a vital role in cutting down food bills and meeting your child's needs - ask your child how much of their lunch do they actually eat, let them know you want to provide what they really need and have a snack available for after school. The school has a water fountain in the cafeteria and two right outside in the foyer, they are available to them at all times. Ms. Patton - your child's custodian who sees it all :) 3 MATHCOUNTS – MATH BEE Attention, Math Lovers, Mathcounts is coming to FQMS!
