Great games, entertainment, prizes, and surprises! Reservoir High is holding its Homecoming Carnival on Friday-October 23rd! It is from 430-630 in the front parking lot of the school! Carson Scholarship Nomination: Early in the second quarter, Lime Kiln will be selecting one 8th grader as our Carson Scholarship school nominee. Winners earn $1000, held in escrow against future college expenses. According to the Carson Scholars website, "Carson Scholars must have a minimum GPA of 3.75 and display humanitarian qualities through community service. Scholarships are awarded solely on the basis of academic achievement and humanitarian qualities, without regard to financial need, ethnicity, creed or religion." Students will learn more through their English classes in the upcoming weeks, including what you need to do to be considered as the LKMS nominee. You are invited to learn more about the Carson Scholars and their selection process by visiting their website http://carsonscholars.org/scholarships/ Fuel Fund 5K Trail Run…Sunday, November 1st, 9am – 12 pm, Schooley Mill Park, Highland. Join us in Howard County for this family-friendly event, including a timed 5K trail run, a l mile fun run and more. All proceeds will benefit the Fuel Fund of Maryland, a nonprofit dedicated to providing resources to low-income Maryland families for heat and home utility needs. Coffee and Conversation with the Board of Education The Board of Education of Howard County regularly holds Coffee and Conversation sessions at schools throughout the county. The C.A.T. program is an advance defensive driving and vehicle control program for licensed teenage driver’s ages 16-20 years old.
