MARK’S remark Dear Friend, During my lifetime, I’ve had the privilege of seeing God move across America in powerful ways, and yet we have seen our nation steadily sliding into moral and spiritual ruin. As I approach my 95th birthday, I believe that unless God sends a sweeping revival, America as we have know it—a nation rooted in biblical values—will be a thing of the past. Today, around 60 percent of Americans don’t attend church regularly. Among young people in our churches, half think that many religions can lead to eternal life. Since 1990, the number of people who specifically identify themselves as atheists or agnostics has more than tripled. This is why I believe My Hope America is crucial. It could be our last chance to see our country turn back to God. I hope you will join us in this nationwide evangelistic campaign and reach out to your unsaved neighbors and loved ones with our only true hope: the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The hour is late, and the need is urgent. The eternal destiny of many souls—and the future of our great nation—is at state. Pray that we will turn form our wicked ways and that God will heal our land. -Billy Graham PAGE 2 THE TIE VOLUME 51 I want to thank the Young at Heart that went to Pennsylvania for a wonderful trip. You all were great and I look forward to the next time we travel together! November 5, the Young at Heart will be volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank. Due to some work being done on the church parking lot, we will meet at the food bank at 9:00am! Please keep November 19, 11:30am marked on your calendars for our Annual Thanksgiving Meal. We will have a traditional Thanksgiving meal with all the fixings. The Planning Committee works very hard to make this a special event for our senior adults, and I pray many of you who have not joined us before will be here this year! Anyone that needs a ride, we will be happy to provide one if you will call the church office. Baptismal Service Sunday, November 10th at the Morning Worship Service. Since most fatal fires occur at night, it’s essential that every home has working smoke alarms to provide an early warning. Working smoke alarms increase the chance of surviving a home fire. We have received Smoke Alarms from the NCBAM and NC OFSM to install into homes free of charge. The Challengers will be traveling to homes and installing smoke alarms and checking the existing smoke alarms. We will be starting first with the homebound. Contact the church office to get on a list if you are interested in this program.
