teeth straightening issues.
How does teeth
straightening work?
Teeth straightening is also called orthodontic treatment, which
uses braces to move teeth within the arch to make them
straighter. There are several different methods of straightening
teeth. We use some of the market leading brace systems
including QuickStraightTeeth, Invisalign, Clear Aligners, Inman
Aligners, Six Month Smiles and Incognito.
How do I decide what’s right
for me?
Deciding on the right treatment begins with a free consultation
with one of our experienced dental surgeons or orthodontic
specialists.
They will assess how crooked your teeth are, how you want your
teeth to look during treatment, how quickly you want the teeth
to move and which type of braces would suit your lifestyle best.
Patients with mild misalignment of the front teeth may be suited
to ‘quick braces’ such as QuickStraightTeeth which are quick,
comfortable and affordable braces, with treatment taking as little
as three months. Dr Greg Cadman one of the dental surgeons at

Longer term braces are still the best option for a number

More severe cases perhaps where there is complex crowding,
where back teeth require adjustment or where jaw or bite
realignment is required, need a more advanced treatment which
takes longer. In these situations patients are referred to the
practice’s Orthodontic Specialist Dr Remo Costi who has had
huge success using Incognito braces with both children and
adults.

cost. Prices for quick braces start from £1100 and increase up to
£2500 for a full arch treatment with Incognito.
Quick Straight Teeth
We have three different
levels of teeth straightening
procedures depending on
your individual requirements.
Level 1
Quick Braces
To correct mild misalignment of the front
6-8 teeth only or where a patient has had
previous orthodontics and teeth have
relapsed after former treatment due to
inadequate retention. QuickStraightTeeth
braces are often used for this type of
treatment which is normally completed
within 3-6 months.

Level 2
Intermediate Braces
For situations where there is more
crowding or teeth straightening is more
complicated. In these cases ceramic or
metal braces are used, with a choice of
the Incognito lingual braces (hidden on
the inside of the teeth). Treatment takes
approximately 3-9 months.
Prices start from £1,470
Level 3
Advanced Braces
For treatment of complex crowding and
where back teeth require adjustment or
where teeth need aligning to correct jaw
or bite alignment. Treatment in these
cases may take 12 – 24 months. We
use ceramic or metal braces including
Incognito lingual braces (hidden on the
inside of the teeth) for these treatments
as they ensure precise results and
reduced treatment times.
Prices start from £2,590
QuickStraightTeeth braces generally focus on the front 6 or
8 teeth to correct mild misalignment. We use 3M Gemini
Clear Brackets which have a reliable and proven track record
worldwide for their performance and beautiful aesthetics.
The braces are discreet and put gentle pressure on the teeth
to level and align the teeth with minimal discomfort. The
treatment works much like removable aligners, but tooth
movement is more predictable, taking as little as 12 weeks.
Six Month Smiles
Six Month Smiles is a short term orthodontic treatment.
The focus is on the cosmetic look of your smile and average
treatment times are only six months using clear brackets
and tooth-coloured wires.
Invisalign and Clear Aligners
Invisalign treatment consists of a series of nearly invisible,
removable aligners that you change every two weeks. Each
aligner is individually manufactured for your teeth, and your
teeth only. As you replace each aligner, your teeth will move
– little by little, week by week – until they have straightened
to the final position prescribed by your dental practitioner.
Clear Aligner is a clear removable cosmetic appliance
designed for minor teeth movement of patients fourteen
and older. Clear Aligner technology can straighten teeth
that are crowded, rotated, tilted forward and backward
using exact impressions taken by your dentist. Clear Aligner
are fabricated for your teeth from the impressions taken at
each and every 6 week treatment interval. This is similar to
Invisalign but is used only for simple cases.
FIXED METAL BRACES
Fixed metal braces are traditional brackets that are placed on
the front of the teeth and provide a great, practical, valuefor-money way of straightening teeth, including complex
crowding cases.
Incognito
Incognito braces are an advanced generation of brace that
is hidden discreetly on the back of the teeth, not on the
front like conventional ‘train tracks’. This allows you to go
about your daily routine without feeling self-conscious
because your braces are virtually invisible from the outside.
Incognito braces are suitable for all age groups - children,
adolescents and adults in particular those who have more
complex teeth straightening or alignment issues.The brace
is custom made for each patient to maximise comfort and
ensure precise results, this is achieved by using the latest
computer technology when creating the brace. It is the most
aesthetic (most hidden) choice of brace and also is one of
the favourites of our specialist orthodontists as Incognito can
achieve complex movements of teeth predictably. SMILE STORIES

Dr Remo Costi is our specialist orthodontist
from Bologna where he is Adjunct Professor in
Orthodontics. He provides treatment for complex
crowding using ceramic or metal bracketed braces,
and also has significant experience in using the lingual
technique and is a qualified instructor. He is certified
to place dental implants, using them for orthodontic
retention where appropriate. He qualified from
Bologna University in 1987, and as a Lingual Instructor
of Orthodontics in 2007.
