Maybe you just came today to see what it’s all about, ...or you come regularly to Mass, alone or with a Catholic spouse or friend, ...or you have never been baptized or were baptized in another Christian tradition, ...or you have questions about the Church and are looking for answers, ...or you simply feel an inner stirring that is drawing you to the Mass and Eucharist. Whatever your reason, we welcome you and invite you to learn more. Our Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is for YOU if you want to explore Baptism or full membership in the Catholic Church. Inquirers meet Wednesday evenings, 6:30-8:00, to ask questions and learn more about the Catholic Church. When and if they are ready, inquirers move on to the formal RCIA/RCIY process and begin to prepare for Baptism and an official welcome into the Church. Join anytime! Our doors are always open. Young people have lots of energy but their energy too is drained easily by their busy life. They try to live up to the expectations of others thus lose Joy and Peace of mind. We need to handle every day with utmost care. Considering that it is the right time to care about one’s well-being we have conceived in our mind to care for the youth who live a stressful life. There are various therapies and stress management tips available to overcome stress. Most of them are for businesses and do not have a focus on God. We need a constant companion in our journey. We need to find that friend (God) and be close to Him. Singing and praising are some of the best ways to be in touch with Him and live a healthy and holistic life. We believe that emotional, physical and spiritual serenity are essential to a happy life. A well- balanced life geared towards holistic healing is necessary. Everything we do should support and rejuvenate the three core elements of being human. We can choose to be in harmony when we make choices to live a well-balanced life. Relax – Refresh – Renew –Reflect and Rejuvenate your relationship with God by your involvement in Joyful Hearts – SPA. Make a resolution to create time for you and your Friend God with SPA. This Praise and worship session will be led by youth. As a youth (Grade 6 to Age 35) if you would like to join this SPA contact Fr. Antony - Phone: 780-467– 5470 & E-mail – [email protected]. Parish News Stewardship Reflections - May 10 - Sixth Sunday of Easter Jesus summarized his whole life with “Love one another.” It’s no wonder that the young church felt compelled to share this with the gentiles. Jesus came to teach us that God shows no partiality. We are called to extend ourselves beyond our self-created boundaries. This is the great command. “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy might be complete. This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.” John 15:11-12 Readings For: May 11 - May 16 May 11- First Reading: Acts 16.11-15 “The Lord opened Lydian’s heart to listen eagerly to what was said by Paul.” Gospel: John 15.26-16.4a “The Spirit of truth who comes from the Father will testify on my behalf.” May 12 - First Reading: Acts 16.22-34 “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Gospel: John 16.5-11 “If I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you.” May 13 - First Reading: Acts 17.15,22 - 18.1 “What you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.” Gospel: John 16.12-15 “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth.” May 14 - First Reading: Acts 115-17, 20-26 “The lot fell to Matthias, who was then added to the eleven apostles.” Gospel: John 15.9-17 “I call you servants no longer, but I call you friends.” May 15 - First Reading: Acts 18.9-18 “No one will lay a hand on you to harm you, for there are many in this city who are my people.” Gospel: John 16.20-23a “I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.” May 15 - First Reading: Acts 16.1-10 “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” Gospel: John 15.18-21 “You do not belong to the world; I have chosen you out of the world.” May 16 - Acts 18.23-28 “Apollo spoke with burning enthusiasm, showing by the scriptures that the Messiah is Jesus.” Gospel: John 16.23b-28 “The Father himself loves you because you have loved me and believe that I come from God.” Pray For Our Seminarians - The week of (May 10 - May 16) This week please pray for the following seminarians discerning a vocation to the priesthood: (10) Jessie B., John O. Our Young Disciples program is now completed for the year. We had another fantastic year of learning about the life of Jesus, many saints and some important church doctrine. As well we were busy making crafts, playing games, serving soup, joining the Living Rosary, building friendships and creating a very special community among our families in this large parish of ours. We would like to take this time to give a special thanks to all the families from the parish that came out to join our final Easter/Spring party. We had so much fun. There were smiles and giggles all around us. We would also like to take this time to thank ALL the volunteer leaders of this program. Without them, we couldn't run! They are an energetic, loving group of parents and high school teens that help to make each Wednesday a joy to look forward to. May our Lord bless each one of you immensely for the wonderful service to this important ministry in our church. If you would like to join our team, or have your children join our program, there will be information in the September bulletin or you can check our website out by going to the OLPH parish website and click on "Young Disciples" on the lower left links.
